That's a really clever application of AI/ML, and it's also very logical to have it handle a specific repetitive task like de-essing. I wouldn't be surprised to see similar technologies/plugins for plosives, breaths, or targeting specific resonances. The low latency during tracking is a nice bonus, as well. It's also reasonably priced. Thanks for the video, really useful as always. Keep up the good work!
@@ReidStefanMusic Yes, you're absolutely right. However, at the moment, a lot of AI output can be seen as regurgitating pre-digested data. I'm positive that in the future AI will be able to develop genuine creative expression, but even considering the rapid progress, I think that horizon might still far away and we, as artists should focus on expand our creativity and utilize AI tools like this. 👍
@@jesperborgstrm3385 Yes, smart:deess is, just like this one, capable of identifying specific individual phonemes. The two companies likely use different machine learning protocols, but this variety is a good thing.
Just installed this - you sold me. I’ve always manually went through first while gain staging and duck the sibilance, breaths, etc then add a deesser after compressing the vocal. Always get a more transparent vocal doing it that way. Super interested in how this will work and save me time lol. Also, what doubler/chorus fx are you using on her vocal? Clean af 🫡🙏🏼 Such a great vocal 🔥
I have a great idea for a video with you and your girl.... talking on how modern tools help make up for old standards of studio in the bedroom on vocals. Not focusing on autotune but take like phil collins or the beegees etc people who actually sing and struggled and had top dollar studio time vs recent modern interfaces and tools and plugins. I mean gives you a chance to push product and affiliate links if honest and fun as hell topic video that if your honest on could be widely inspiring for many of us. Even i dont know the full story or even 40% just guesses. You are much wiser and your girl has more time hearing tech go further. Plus im sure both of you can appreciate artists that arent edm etc of the past. Consider it id be big on seeing any video on the topic since there is none like it. The idea came when you responded on that quantam product i purchased after your review. You talked me into the higher version of it for future proofing and cant say it was a bad choice as i love it on vocals. Still havent used it on any channel for spoken word content yet but plan to soon im doing a mic swap.
@@ReidStefanMusicWell, life is short. It’s good to be happy. I’m glad you are. Especially with Antares. I’m definitely not. Feels like I invested in something that is already dead in the water. And there’s no way to keep it alive. Imagine in 3 years, after 2 or 3 new iterations of the same plugin. All the updates will only go to the new versions and none for what was already paid for. I’m required to keep purchasing the same plugin again and again just to have it stay relevant? Idk man.
@@grungefire I’m confused by how is there “no way to keep your software alive” my older versions still work great when I re-install them. I can downgrade anytime, but I choose not to. Just like how The iPhone 14 and 15 don’t make my iPhone 13 obsolete or “dead in water”
@@ReidStefanMusic my iPhone 13 still gets the same updates my iPhone 15 does. My auto tune pro x no longer gets any updates that 11 gets. That’s the difference buddy.
@@grungefire well, no cause you are not getting Apple intelligence on your iPhone 13. Yes, you get iOS 18 but its way less powerful on 13, so here its the same.

Yes AI should be doing our repetitive & mundane tasks, not the creative fun songwriting stuff 😅

Thanks soo much for showing us how to used this. Just downloaded it.
Waves sibilance plugin does the same thing and I've been using it for years now, i love it
I d like to know how it sounds with a vocal recorded in a less good room, the vocals you use already sound very good as is...
that's pretty neat!

Sonible's SmartDeess is a similar AI Deesser, and is little smoother.
💯💯💯
Do you have a video demonstrating this claim?
