    The sketchbook looks really nice, shame it's not bleed proof - I've tested a few brands myself and the only one I've come across in sketchbook-form that has zero bleed through is Rendr but that's quite thick in paper weight. The markers look nice and vibrant - great video as always! :)

      I'm not too bother by the bleed-through for this sketchbook since there's a plastic sheet provided that can go between the pages. With other sketchbooks, you can always place another piece of paper.
      Even actual marker paper will have bleed-through even if it's minimal.

    I love this sketchbook! I use ot for everything I am not a marker guy but using them very rarely. But it really has awesome pages and hardcover with great texture.

    Been using these myself. Came with marker set and keep going back to them. mostly use for ink (microns, brush, isographs), but do a little marker with them too. I like the hardcover format. Very durable and can put on bookshelves easily compared to other sketchbooks. The only thing is they are rather large format. Even the smaller square one is pretty big if you want to go out and draw from real life. If you are used to say 5x8 type of moleskine or other formats, this might be an issue or if you dont like having multiple drawings on one page. I end up doing larger size drawings that take a lot longer to ink or render compared to smaller stuff. Takes out of comfort zone i guess or maybe just my own idiosyncracies at work. Ive had books for years and no pages have accidently separated with perforated pages. They are very strong and you wont have it pull apart or anythign while working or turning pages. I highly recommend these if just want something large and durable with very good paper for mixed media.

    I started using Ohuhu paper in the spiral and perforated notebooks a couple of years ago and really like their products. If they had 14" x17" I'd be buying that from them too. One thing not shown in the video is how nicely it comes packaged (or at least did when I ordered). Maybe because it was for art that it impressed me because that is something I really don't care about at all generally, but afterwards it got me thinking - a lot of art products are packaged like junk (for shipping) and with actual product packaging that looks generic blah or thirty years old. On the product packaging I figured it was because the design might quickly look TOO dated if too distinctive and the companies don't want too much design change to keep brand recognition easy. Lol, I'm doing it again - going down a rabbit hole thinking about why so many art supply companies seem to *not* care about the *look* of their art supplies' packaging.

    Very few papers can withstand the alcohol marker ink that is always very staining and penetrates all sort of papers.
    So this paper looks pretty strong compared always with other of similar weight.
    It is not allowing blending though.
    What about watercolour markers? Or light applications of water in order to allow better blending of colours.
    I have the notion that this paper will probably work fine with light washes of water or even watercolor and/or blending of watercolour markers.

    I can't believe Ohuhu didn't send you dual tip markers so you would have a brush tip on the other end. The ones on your desk look like just the chisel tip?

      I have the Ohuhu brush tip markers too. Will be reviewing them soon.

      @@teohyc Awesome. This was a great review of that paper. I have that same book. thank you. I'm just surprised they didn't send you the markers that have both tips in one. I didn't even know they still made the single tips. Can't wait to see you review of the markers.

    How does this paper deal with watercolors? I do a lot of pen and ink and it appears to handle ink rather well. I am curious that after the ink dries can one add watercolor? I do use permanent inks. -OkieSketcher1949

      They do really well with watercolors. I've created pieces with several layers of waterecolor with no damage to the paper. The paper does buckle a little bu otherwise it's great

    I had this sketchbook in my sights for a long time 🤩 but with alcohol markers it always goes to the other side? 😮 Even so... I see that it can be used for other materials 🤗
    Is there some type of thick sheet for alcohol markers that does not exceed the pages? 😮

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  Год назад +1

      Alcohol inks will always bleed through so it's best to place another piece of paper in between the pages.

      @@teohyc Awww I see 😮However that Ohuhu sketchbook looks very good quality 👍✨
      I recently got a set of Ohuhu pastel as a gift but I painted on a sheet of considerable thickness and if I saw the bleeding and still to take care of it I used the protective plastic sheet 🤗
      Thanks for the video 💖
      I hope one day to try the sketchbooks 😃

      Here in Singapore? You can drill. But for heavy renovation works with lots of noise, a limited time government permit is required.

      It is quite smooth, or slightly smoother than fine grain. I don't think it's the best for pencil but it can work.

    „Every page is perforated, so you can detach it easily.“ Way to easily unfortunately. But that’s the only downside.

    Thank you for the review. Shame about the bleed through; odd that it’s supposed to be a marker sketchbook yet their own markers bleed through? Hmmm. Also: Ohuhu are no longer considered “affordable “ at the crazy expensive prices they have decided to market to we the consumers.

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  9 месяцев назад

      All paper will have bleed through, even 300gsm watercolour paper.
      I just looked at the prices on their website. 104 markers for USD 104. If that's not affordable, I don't know what is.
