Im still using my eleksmaker laser. Noticed it uses 2 stepper motors to drive the y axis compared to this sculpfun which has the one stepper motor and the long shaft to the other side. Considering recreating this on mine and reusing that extra stepper for a z axis or possibly rotary attachment! Also 3d printing an air assist that uses a small aquarium pump!

I cut 5mm plywood 2 passes, using air assist, with very smooth edges, and very little burn marks on the back side, top side, has no burn marks whatsoever.

Very nice video. Really appreciate a channel with a solid interest in affordable lasers. It seems that this will be the year when actually usable diod lasers for cutting arrive. Looking forward to seeing more reviews, especially the Atomstack P7 and A10 which makes bold claims to both high output and small dot size.

As a UK viewer a quick mention of both the mains power ,ie is there a 115/240 switch or a auto power supply and if its a built-in plug would be of some help. Thanks for reviews keep it up.

Cool video, thanks. Just a quick question if I may - between the S9, S30 Pro Max and the S30 Ultra which one would be a better pick considering that the budget is somewhat flexible? It is for some general purpose cutting ( Balsa, Plywood, Acrylic etc. ) and less of engraving. I am somewhat inclined towards the S30 Pro Max with the 20W Laser Module.

I liked your video. One thing I would very much like to know, what is the highest "true power" LASER head can the S9 safely handle (say DC current of 5 to 6 Amperes) and still use the existing controller and existing wiring with the exception of the external power supply due to the increased current requirements? The controller PCB is is marked as rates for 12/24 volt input.

I honestly don't understand why you would want to cut through thick plywood on so many passes at 100% power, not unless you have deep pockets!.
Diode lasers, although they can accomplish it will burn out in no time.
Monies wasted there replacing the diode lasers over time could have been used on a decent 60-100w CO2 laser which can at a lower percentage output, put up with the abuse.
