I thought of this idea years ago. Modular homes are very common in the Northwest Territories.

"chicken coups for the masses" while the political class and the investors laugh all the way to the bank.

lol living in a miniature trailer park. Build a mini golf to go with the houses instead of a playground.

It would not work in this sh*tty weather. The home will be blown away in this windy city

No more videos on "chicken coups for the masses" or "chicken coups for newcomers" please. This is a horrible, horrible idea - a horrible solution to the problem created by the fed gov.
    Thank you,

I would never pay $500/sq ft for that box in my backyard. Way too expensive to build.

The 2,5% increase for our investors/landlords is a joke. Wondering why our investors/landlords are selling? Where the tenants will go? To the hotels? We can't accommodate all the lower income tenants in hotels. You don't help the investors, it's the end of the game. For everyone. Nobody will borrow money. Less taxes. Less people to renovate their investments. Less jobs. More and more will sell and invest in GIC or other things, not in real estate. Long term thinking is the best. That why the prices will lower a little bit. Supply and Demand. Always.

That is why they are increasing taxes and capital gain thresholds, to adjust for the shitty economy. Canada is over-bureaucratized, too restrictive of real estate growth and development, and focuses too much on the financial sector instead of developing its energy sector, manufacturing for less, and has a very slow pace of technological innovation.

This could be a great solution, but the government won’t allow the solution and will continue the problem.

Lol used to call it trailer parks back in the day. Now they are half the size and you can not move if you do not like your neighbor.

The problem with prefabs is that if they're too cheap the government will just outlaw their sale completely. It would be too big of a risk to the current housing market. It would completely destabilize pricing. The challenge becomes how do you build a prefabricated home that's just a little bit cheaper than single detached homes so there is some incentive but not enough to tank the current market prices. Funny how the prefab home in the video is $375,000 dollars, yet a shed that size is about $15,000. Built with very similar materials may I add (obviously a home is more complex than a shed, but not $350k more). If Amazon gets this right Realtors across the world are in trouble.

What if the provincial government leases their lands for at least ten years in designated suburban areas of major cities. Sounds crazy at first but this kind of idea could help the working class. Imagine parking lots for RVs or Floating homes area, this idea is very similar to these but it does need the support of the local government.

L9ok at something like Ayellas product more reasonable in terms of price. I can't attest to quality though. But really 500 sqf is aboht the same cueton home builders charge. Same peoblem, land.
