Just imagine this song on seven lane. It exists and BirdmanExe has played it with the side effect of losing his goddamn mind. Fun stuff here, as long as we're ignoring the one handed rolls LUL.
The only bad thing about this rendition of Caravan from Whiplash is that, even after almost 6 years since it's been out, NO ONE has attempted to transcribe Andrew's solo at the end. I'm legit curious as to how it's done, since I want to learn more drumset.
This genuinely the most impressive thing I've ever seen you do. I'm a jazz drummer and like god damn even tho its just pads that your playing on its still insanely good
I know this is 3 yrs old, but even still I think guitar hero/rock band can actually help a musician in some ways. For instance, I'm a beginner bassist and playing fuck ton of gh helped me with loosening out my fret fingers, and speed up my plucking fingers. It definitely helped get through that early slog. I had the bass for like a year, year and a half before I took it seriously, probably because of that early slog and my fingers feeling wack. With drumming, I bet starting with gh/rb helps with speed and limb independence. But if you're an existing player trying out gh, it's quite hard to do. Drumming perfectly to a recording isn't easy at all, and the improv nature of drumming gives each drummer their own feel. So if you learn the instrument first then try play, it's not worthwhile at all imo.
It helps yeah but it is better to actual learn the actual instrument properly and study from books or teachers rather than a videogame made for fun not to teach anything than rhythm maybe and interpretation
@angelnobody7137 Well what I meant is to not learn from the games, just loosen up your fingers and get that coordination improved. It helps to get a headstart on the physical side before theory and practice, so your learning isn't held back by fingers hurting too much or smth. To actually start learning, rocksmith 2014 is good in areas. With rocksmith and using rocksmith2tab to get the games tabs, its a good combo to have fun learning the jist of a song, then going to tabs (musescore) to really learn it and practice properly. At least for me. Rocksmith tabs are much more accurate than random tabs would be. All of this is just solo learning. As a hobbyist bassist in uni, solo learning via rocksmith, musescore and then yt is how I'm trying to improve. Absolutely real local teachers with books and other resources are gonna be the best way to learn.
If you have edrums or you get an old rock band kit then you can get the drum version of the game through the discord channel and download songs for free
The chart seems difficult and well made but is still simplified compared too the actual song. Great job on FC of this chart! Very impressive 👍👏🏼! I'm going to guess, just by your technique and other things, that you are not very experienced behind a real kit. I dont mean that in a bad way at all! It is actually really interesting! I would like to see you play that electronic kit you are using without the game. You have insane timing/rhythm that's for sure! Technique and comfortably would come superrrr quick! Being a trained musician of many instruments, mainly drums, I am a huge fan of rhythm games. I wish I had a electronic kit so I could play clone hero. Keep up the great work! 5🌟's! 😁
Someone said "I wonder how the 8bit drummer would do on this" and I kinda agree? I wanna see just how much of the skills transfer over, 'cause it's not gonna be exactly the same, surely
Yo dude! You might already know this, but look up the "Paradiddle Diddle" drum rudiment. It's widely used in jazz drumming and it's exactly the type of thing you could use to make that crazy stuff at the end more manageable 👍
Congrats on 1,000,000 subscribers, man. You now have access to have a gold RUclips play button. One last milestone of subscribers before the end, and its “Legend” with 10,000,000 subscribers. It will be the hardest milestone yet. If you’ll attempt it, good luck.
Jazz drumming is THE hardest style of drumming I have no doubt, its fun af to play with the syncopation and the whole big band ensemble with a bouncy driving drum groove is perfection.
What kills me is many Jazz drummers play this crazy shit while high af on Heroin. When I did Heroin I didn't have the energy to do anything CLOSE to this.
This song is genuinely incredible from a composure standpoint, genuinely one of my favorite songs for drumming and I hope to manage to cover it one day
For the swing parts on the ride cymbal (the three notes in a row thing) you wanna learn to loosen up your hand while holding your stick to hit that because if your hand is holding it tightly your hand gets tired easier or can cramp if you are tightly holding it doing swing for a while when it's fast. I hope someone would explain this better that is a drummer and have him see it because I suck at explaining things.
I just found this channel yesterday, with the same song (Caravan) at your first attempt, and i love it. Gratz on 5* this song and your 1m sub bro. Keep hitting that drum. I really miss play this game. Still play rhythm game tho, Pump It Up, but i start from this game.
This was the same way when I tried to get 5 stars on Jordan, Six, Visions, and Fight Fire With Fire. Took me many tries to do all those 5-star runs before. There is no way that I’m beating that.
During the solo you kind of need a1 stick control in your left hand to play the off time snare ghost notes with the double time swing (I think the blue notes they're meant to be played on one hand)it's a really chop forward solo also you have better control in the left hand and wont drop as many notes if you keep your fingers on the stick and squeeze towards the top almost like a windex bottle. Just some tips if you decide to fc it. Good job though
congratulations on 1,000,000 subscribers, i found your channel when you were around 150,000 subs and i’ve been watching you ever since. keep going man 🤘
Fun fact, this is actually undercharted (by a lot in a fair bit of, although solo sections are mostly accurate). Not taking anything away, honestly i think in some ways ghost notes are easier to play than not ghost notes. They help you feel the groove better.

To anyone who hasn't seen Whiplash, musician or not, it's absolutely a movie worth seeing
