So the Nemesis system is a brilliant system made for this game, unlike most games where all bosses are pretty much set in stone in Shadow of War bosses are based around the actions of yourself and their own actions. For example if you get killed by a slave that slave will be promoted to a captain. From then on your actions, if you don't kill the slave for revenge, will affect their growth. It's even possible to 'power up' the uruk till he becomes a Warchief. Not only that but they remember everything you do, if you for example run away during a fight they will talk and taunt you about it. Or if you kill them but they come back sewn back together they'll make mention of this. There's a video that explains the Nemesis system in greater detail I'd watch that it is an incredible system one of the most inventive of it's time.

@@heroicryan6257 Correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure they are! It's a Wonder Women game, which while kind of lame imo, will include the Nemesis system. Also, there was a leak that got a bunch of rumors going around about a Middle earth 3 type game in silent development. Not necessarily Shadow of ____ 3 or something, but an open world game in middle earth nonetheless. If it IS true, then the Nemesis system is almost certainly involved with that game too.

The Marauder Tribe, it has a great set of Uruks, they're not all about the gold appearance, some have some pretty golden personalities! Especially their Bards who prance around and immediately burst into song whenever they're given the chance (Like when spotting you, and in the middle of combat!)
Bards ale the best uruks :D
Especially when a bard's mind gets broken and they only screech at you instead

Every single one of the Shadow of War orc captains has more personality than the entire ROP cast combined.

I got shadow of war for my 13 birthday. I loved it, the story was awesome, the orcs you can recruit was an experience, like how many games do you know that allows you to have the enemy on your side. Slaughter, outlaw,feral, and mystic tribes are awesome! Highly recommend.

marauder tribe is definitely my favourite the golden as soon as your marauder becomes a leader of a fortress the whole thing will be covered in gold
loved this game, beaten it multiple times and each one felt different with the nemesis system.
first time playing it, i had a brutal enemy for awhile, An orc captain with the title "Of The Black Gate", an he dual wielded swords the rangers used.
he ended up as a abomination filled with poison, that his face was melted. shame he died, would of liked him as a true nemesis...

I had a nemesis that was weak to sneak attacks to the point I could insta kill him with one. The problem with that is that every. single. time he died he kept coming back! And the worse part is he was always TOO high for me to dominate but it made up for it cause he kept giving me good weapons each time I killed him.

I prefer shadow of war simply because it took what shadow of mordor did well and improved upon it (once they got rid of the microtransactions that plagued the launch of the game XD)

If I ever make a game I'm going to incorporate my own nemesis system (though it will be called something else). If I did ever publish the game and they were to seek legal action I would mention how mine is different and that they haven't even utilised that system in years. The nemesis system is like a brick of gold that the devs are using as a paperweight.
Here are some ideas I have. A game where you play as a werewolf and you go up against various enemies from humans, to vampires and other creatures. In my game you are the final Lycan and you want to rebuild what was taken from your race. Your blood/bite happens to be the strongest supernatural ability (on account of a royal bloodline) so you are able to convert your enemies into fellow werewolves or just control enemy types that can't be converted to wolves. There are so many interesting things you can do with an open world, enemies that are impacted by your actions and that whole build and command your own army. Could even do a multiplayer take on it too so you and a buddy could conquest together.
The dark tribe is definitely my favorite

If Ken already loved the Shadow of Mordor game, then Shadow of War is mostly just more of the same.
That said, it was a bit of a mess on launch, but currently it's a REALLY good game, well worth checking out in my opinion.
I love the amount of personality the game gives all the Orcs, some are really funny, some really ruthless and others are just.... odd. The fact that you can make them deranged through shaming just highlights the strength of the Nemesis system in these games.
I also love how faithful the games are to the source material. I mean, sure.. it does take some liberties, but none of it is lore breaking and it's all in the same spirit of the books and it's just a really nice stand alone story.

Funny that Ken liked Shadow of Mordor cuz Shadow of War is kind of like it in ways. This game was pretty fun and definitely one of those games you can play over again. This could be a future live stream if you two up for it

Shadow of war is actually the game after shadow of mordor so the next instalment and in saying this I've got over a thousand hours in the game everything you do weather you die you kill an orc or recruit an orc is dependant of that Orc and yourself so lets say you recruit an Uruk and you die or something along those lines there is a small chance or a slight chance that orc may betray you because he sees you as a weakling and can't follow a weak leader Shadow of War is a game that has so much and can be so much more it is sad that the game is not getting updates anymore cause I've got so many ideas also the fact that Uruks you kill shame or purify has a chance to turn into a different type of Orc it's all very interesting and full of mystery I highly recommend giving the game a try
Shadow of war was a great when I played it but the nemesis system is one of best thing to happen to video games it goes like this if you kill somebody then there’s a chance they can come back stronger and have a chance to kill you. But there’s nothing that’s going to replace this system even if a game with the same kind of system came out like it but it sucks they couldn’t make a new game about the main character which I will not say his name because I don’t want to spoil the fun of this game but if you want to play it then I’d suggest the definitive edition because it holds a code for the dlc’s which you can unlock for the game both great stories that are the dlc’s
This game is a complete masterpiece, but it now misses something..... some attention

OMG YES. You two have to react to how the nemesis system works. You don't have to ever play it, but this game is underrated. It originally wasn’t reviewed well because it was released with loot chests you could pay real money to get more armor, weapons & orcs. They later patched it out completely. This game is so much fun and still play it today.
It was good they patched that out but they also at the same time destroyed the value of the in-game currency Mirian that u earn for playing the game. Other then some fortress upgrades and gem slots there is nothing to spend it on and u will earn ALOT more then u can possably spend it on. Them taking away the real world money lootboxes was a good move but they also removed the boxes u could only get from in-game currency and that was a major mistake.
@@Shiftry87 Yep, 100% agree. Still a fun game overall for this system & gameplay. The main attraction of the game really is the different orcs the game creates for you to kill or recruit.

Y'all need to react to Armored Core VI
The poster child of mixed bags. An excellent game mired in controversy, most of it stemming from greed. The Nemesis system which is hands down brilliant was also a gigantic point of contention when WB tried to copyright AND trademark the system to the point where having an enemy in game that used tactics against you more than once "would be a WB property" that you had to license from them or an enemy using an AI state system would violate their copyright. Literally.
Needless to say this went over with the gaming community like a lead brick (as it should have) but there was even more pay to win and pay to play controversy to come, and finally WB was forced to essentially relent on almost everything predatory they attempted to cram into the game.
Much like the Arkham series, despite WB's attempts to monetize EVERYTHING, the heart of the game is a brilliant masterpiece delving into a beloved franchise in a way that was unique and entertaining as hell when left to its own devices.
Shadow of War was the only game I ever pre-ordered and wasn't disappointed. This is for me a 10 out of 10 game.

the Nemesis System was the best thing to come from SoW/SoM, loved that system.
These Shadow of Mordor games are so great, it's Lord of the Rings meets the Batman Arkham games which means it's definitely a must play.
Honestly, i don't understand at all how such a brilliant thing as this Nemesis System hasn't been copy/pasted into every open world game for this last decade. I swear the game industry is truly one of the blindest when it comes to iteration of others successes.
There was a video a while back showing all the Orc on Orc executions, some are pretty brutal and are separated by the Orc class like Warrior, Hunter, Archer, Slayer, Defender, and Olog, also by elements and Faction weapons.
i would love you watch yall play this, its the first game but everything is cranked up to 11 and its great

Now this is a treat seeing as just last week my best friend got me back into Shadow Of War.
Heres a little story of how the Nemesis system can really get you invested in the Orcs you face x
I'd been dying repeatedly to an EPIC rank orc named "Muzu The Wyrm", who was a poisonous feral beserker who worships a beast he calls the Great Serpent - a beast he tells me, that although he'd fed me to it several times already, he was still more than glad to continue feeding me to it. After a long struggle (Me being Lv8 vs him at Lv51) i bisected him, with his faith being seemingly shattered as his last words were ones of desperation and grief, calling out to the Great Serpent and asking why it had abandoned him.
Not 5 minutes later as i was leaping from the rooftops of Minas Ithil, Muzu reappeared, but not as he was before.
He had seemingly abandoned his once zealous belief in the Great Serpent, and had taken to worshipping a new god of Fire and Metal, and Muzu had dubbed himself "The Machine", his mangled body having been collected and pieced back together by his comrades.
Deciding i needed to nip this massive problem in the bud now before he got away and became an even bigger headache for me later, i chose to engage Muzu in a duel - a rather risky venture given how Muzu has repeatedly won all of our 1v1's so far. As we clashed on the rooftops, some Orcs below saw us and sounded an alarm, which brought a small gang to Muzu's side that proved just enough for him to turn the tables on me, bringing me to my knees as the killing blow came down...but i was saved at the last moment by a Gondorian! not much, but any help was welcomed.
Despite the aid, i again went down, but again fate was smiling on me as yet ANOTHER Gondorian appeared from the blue and saved my life. With my resolve bolstered, i clashed with Muzu once more and soon me and my Gondorian pals had him outnumbered 3 to 1.
Despite Muzu's "enhancements", they did not empower him enough to best me this time as i ran him through once and for all with my blade. From his corpse i looted a legendary sword, "Blade Of Beasts", which i thought was fitting due to his once zealous worship of such a monster. And in almost typical videogame fashion, another Orc ambushed me, taunting me about he would steal the sword i'd just looted...not knowing he'd just volunteered to be its first victim. After all, the beast was always hungry as Muzu had told me, and the beast would be fed, one way or another x.
Once I get my gpu back, I'm gonna redownload this game, I need an experience like that! I haven't even been playing much of the main missions, I've been trying to do as much side content in the beginning city first 😂
@@holymosey2556 honestly when it works the Nemesis System can produce some awesome moments and relationships with the orcs you’ll find. My advice - play on Brutal Difficulty as not only will you level up quicker and get better gear super early, but it’s a great way of “getting good” at the various mechanics of the game since even a hit from a regular grunt can knock you for half your life xD
