New Season, High Hopes - Backyard Baseball Online Play! (Game 2 Highlights)

Highlights from my second game in the online Junior League (Season 5). The league is played with teams drafted from the entire Backyard Baseball 2001 roster (including the "generic" CPU-controlled kids!). Games are 6 innings in length, and only one hitting powerup can be used per game (until extra innings).

Well, this one hurts to post, but you can't win them all... After storming out of the gates with a 22-4 home victory over my week 1 opponent, the Colorado Rockies jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the 1st inning, capitalized by a Nicky Winston 3-run home run. Unfortunately, the rest of this home run derby would be completed by my opponent b0kchoy222. With victory just an out away in the 6th, a pop up to centerfielder Dawn Cozart looked to be the end. Unfortunately, she couldn't find the ball (and since I wasn't sure if/where to click, I just hoped for the best and braced for heartbreak) allowing three bases to Amir Khan who then scrambled home on a second error that knocked down absent-minded pitcher Earl Abbot. Former Season 4 Astros team member Shawn Green got his revenge at-bat in a big way with an opposite-field walk-off shot to clinch the exciting comeback win for the Little Monsters.
A huge thank you to all who have made this possible! Bringing back this game for online play is a dream come true. The quality of this organized league is very impressive.
