Excellent, I have just bought this product from Buzzweld and have not yet applied it, but hope to this week. It smells to me like Dubbin that we used to apply to our leather walking boots. I quite like the smell. Great video and it is a good price from Buzzweld, compared to other lanolin applications. I also like the pouring tip of tape on the can as I havent seen that before.
Its good stuff I have recently applied it to another of my cars and still have nothing but good things to say about it in terms of protection. Interesting! The smell might be an acquired taste, very slightly like a mild fish oil to me. Not too strong thankfully, but odourless would naturally be my preference! :D Cheers!
Haha cheers Chris! I feel like there's still quite a bit to do on the E30. I'm loving it so far but there are things that certainly need changing for it to be it's best self (for what I want to use it for anyway). As for a next project, it might need to be my E46 which is overdue some TLC, it's kind of taken a back seat while I've been working on the E30. I forgot it existed for a while. 😆 Stick around, lots more fun with this car and others to come. 😃
I think it smells more like Dubbin boot treatment, rather than fish. Brings back memories of my hiking days. Some say it smells like sheep, which is a possibility, or wet wool.
Don’t show this video to whoever’s going to paint the car… they’ll run a mile! 😂 Hopefully it hasn’t soaked into your primer and repairs, be a royal pita if it has.
Oh lord haha, I am planning to paint it myself, hopefully I don't regret putting it on. 😆 I've got an awful lot of sanding to do first though and will lay down fresh epoxy primer before anything.
If it’s aerosol epoxy primer take it off with thinners providing there’s no filler underneath, if 2k sand it right back and re-apply. You’ll be fine fingers crossed 🤞 😁
Another nasty job out of the way. It will be interesting to see how it holds up. Lanoguard gets a bit of bad press, but it maybe that people expect too much from it. My, possibly too simplistic, view is that anything oily and water repellent you apply on a regular basis has to be better than doing nothing. My father-in-law was a great man, and he had a Vauxhall Viva HA that he would treat to a brush coat of old engine oil every year. It looked horrible, but it didn't half stop it from rotting.
Cheers Bob! Yeah I figured I really should add a sacrificial Lanolin treatment to the car before it picks up any road grime. With this on any grime wont get chance to stick! I think it will have to be an annual application, but right now I am unable to remove it from my floor easily even with white spirit, so that's an indication that this Buzzweld stuff is hard core. 😆 Lanoguard is far more expensive, but I would be surprised for it to be superior to this stuff. I think you are paying for the marketing with that. Can'tt go more than 5 minutes online without seeing a Lanoguard ad haha. Engine oil is a very old-school trick, I imagine it works extremely well if you're prepared to top it up every now and again and don't mind it looking mucky.
Vauxhalls from that era were notorious for rot, but I also remember guys in the 1970's wiping the sills with a greasy rag at the beginning of winter on Vauxhall victors and Ford Zephyrs and it stopped the sills rotting from the salt. Some used to brush on the used oil if it wasn't really too black. I think you are correct that any oil is good, but I'm not sure about engine oil on suspension bushes. I'm going to try this lanolin anyway as it seems to give a clean appearance on restored cars.
underrated tip there with the sticky tape on the oil tin to prevent the drips - will give that a try next time
Yeah its one of my old mans painting tricks but I use it all the time at every opportunity. 😆 You'll never go back

Amazing job mate, your work is very clean and meticulous.
Cheers mate, I'm really impressed with this Buzzweld stuff, still going strong.
Nice Job! 🔥
Thank you Kevin! 😃
Coming along nicely. Isn't it time to tease us with a few details of your next project..

5/16W for the carb banjo bolts.
Hi Chris, is this related to our other video about the Triumph? Cheers!
Interesting- but the fish smell would be a deal breaker for me 😂
Haha! Yeah its the only downside so far. Still faint smell in the garage as I got it all over the floor and let it set, like a fool...
@@SPANNERRASH live and learn- thanks for sharing it with us so we don’t make the same mistakes.

It's a shame you didnt have a pit or a ramp lift to work from. Still a good job done.😊😊
@@johncollins2966 Yeah life would be easier with a lift, that's the dream for me really. One day maybe! 🙏
