this was genuinely god awful despite not being my hardest demon at the time. it just has some small sections that are almost a given to die to over and over again. GMTSean's unnerfed section that did not make it in Krmal/Tygrysek's version is one of the worst ufo parts of all time. it makes the complaints on that part on the nerfed version seem like baby raging. on top of that, there are more choke points. some people out there are claiming that the remake Deimos is just unnerfed Phobos but no, that is not true. despite that though, there are some things in unnerfed Phobos that Deimos do not have, which is 40%. the worst transition for a ship of all time, i have no idea who thought that would be a good idea in any level. the best way to handle it really is just to glide on the platform and hope you hit the purple orb properly. there are a few frames of leeway where you can make it through
then of course this level ends with the most infamous part of them all. the asymmetric ship/cube dual. i died here once at 94%, managed to beat it the next time i got here. this was really annoying to learn since the players that were actually consistent at this dual before i learned it were god awful at explaining what they were doing. having learned it myself now, quite honestly you can spend most of the time just focusing on the ship if you know the muscle memory to keep the cube alive. if you notice throughout the dual, i fly with the ship in very specific ways, which is to make sure the cube goes where it needs to go. the only time i would say you need to focus on the cube for a split moment is 2 seconds into the dual, then back on the ship again. once i figured that out, you really just got to hope everything lines up properly for you in the moment, this dual screams inconsistency and even though i got to a point where i could do the dual multiple times in a row, its still uncertain

i am preparing for some pretty damn big videos in the future, which will require me uploading these completions separately once i get to that point. given that i am still on vacation during this time, i figured i'd give you some kind of unique uploads, even if this technically counts as a re-upload without edits. ive come to learn the hard way that achievements arent quite noticed in the same way in the Recent Level Achievements episodes in which i wouldve liked. not that i will stop making episodes like that regardless as they are essential to what i am planning in the future

@@Jahali902 when phobos was rated, (tygrysek hacked the unnerfed version and krazy verified the current nerfed version) it literally still was not #1; even unnerfed.
Unnerfed Phobos was #1, it got unrated and removed. Then nerfed Phobos was placed at #2 below Bloodbath(1) and under Conical Depression(3). However, even nerfed Phobos was the hardest level at the time meaning KrmaL had verfied both the #1 and #3 hardest levels in the game.
I dont remember anyone doubting that tbh. I remember the massive debate on whether the version krazy verified was harder or not tho
People were so dumb back in 1.9, I remember fighting in the comments that Sonic Wave is harder than bloodbath and then calling me crazy for that lol. Glad bloodbath isnt even on the top 100 anymore
i just remember everyone defeating bloodbath because everyone wanted bloodbath to be the top 1, even when athanatos came out the people were still saying bloodbath was harder, there was no demo list in those times so everything was just a personal opinion from everyone

That dual at the end is so much cooler than in the nerfed version. I considered beating phobos, but the level was so lame without the dual at the end (and it's just easy in general)

I have no idea why anyone would ever want to beat this level.
It has terrible timings, not the best deco, awkward gameplay, and even an ugly song to top it off
Fr though, is this what this version was actually like, because 0:35 is the most wide open straight fly I've ever seen
It's like a straight fly challenge made by a mobile player who'd recently beat Can't Let Go
Late 1.9 - Early 2.0. That was the time period in which this level was made in.
And pre-2.0 Ship physics were different from today's, for current is more suitable for straight fly and the 1.9 and earlier ships were more suited for quick up/down movements.
