When Mirabel finds Bruno’s hiding spot, he has the rats start mimicking telenovas … there aren’t any Televisions in the village. I’ve looked into it and noticed a few interesting facts, although Television was made since 1920, it was slowly being introduced to the world throughout the years, until finally Televisions were introduced into Columbia in the 1950’s. According to Encanto directors, the village was made around 1900, since the candle has been active for about 50 years, and Encanto should theoretically take place around 1950 … just in time for the introduction of Televisions into Columbia.
