This is such a brilliant song, one of those songs that is both humorous and genuine at the same time. I love the 1987 bass line. Listen to, say, Freddie Jackson's Have You Ever Loved Somebody. That's the type of thing they're alluding to with the bass line, but of course they add their own additions and style. It's a really great example of how "Good Artists Borrow, Great Artists Steal." Everything in this sounds like it was stolen from somewhere else, but it is completely unique, especially for its time.
