Dimash knew NO English at all at this time, all learned phonetically! It's crazy that he managed as well as he did! This is nearly 5 years ago, so his English has improved greatly..
But he knew English better than Chinese (Mandarin): he adored Michael Jackson (it's weird he didn't learn MJ's language), but "Late Autumn" sang (for the first time in Mandarin) like a native speaker (which seduced the Chinese so incredibly) and "Show Must Go On" was not well pronounced. He learned Chinese as a musical score (because it is an eminently intonating language, and thus it was easier for him). In English he took place to understanding and pronunciation (a completely different type of language). But really it is quite difficult to understand why he articulated so badly in The Singer "SOS", after all, he sang this song since 2012, when he won the competition in Kazakhstan for the first time, and in 2015 the Slavic Bazaar. Inferring that he pronounced Show Must Go On incorrectly in English because he didn't know English language at alle - is completely wrong. I think he did not have the best advisors in China in those languages (French, English) and he was also stressed - and that's why it went like that.

Can you imagine trying to sing a song in Russian or Chinese if you didn't know that language at all? Something as simple as where to put the emphasis and on what word if you didn't even understand the words you were saying. I can't even imagine how difficult that would be. Give him credit for even trying. And at the same time, he is learning several languages at once to suit people all over the planet. I bet there's not one out of one hundred watching that could learn a song in another language in a week.
It`s good to remember, that he was performing in front of a Chinese audience who possibly weren`t paying that much attention to his English pronunciation. This was the first song ever to him to perform in English, had a week to learn it addition to making the arrangement, etc. I love it. Of course it`s good to get the lyrics right, but I really hope he never loses his accent.

Correction. Dimash is not the music arranger for this performance though he did contribute some output towards it. Take note of credits.
@@dearlydears5301 sure. But was involved, making interviews, etc. Learning pronunciation was not the only task during that week.

Dimash never sing perfect copies of originals. He always includes the Dimash's factor into them while at the same time maintain the integrity of those originals.

Sorry but insted of HEARTACHE he keeps saying HEART - ITCH sorry....for a proffesional considered numb1 vocalist and pride himself on singingle over 12 different languages he could TAKE MORE SERIOUSNESS in english language SEING ITS THE GLOBAL language of communication. im huge dimash fan but THIS IS THE REAL and first ever critique i have found. Perhaps he takes it seriously but has difficulty pronuncing certain words. As a foreigner i get how difficult some simple words can be for someone who is not a native,so perhaps u should cut him some slack dear

Not good enough Romeo! Heartache is so simple! 2words! heart and cake!!!! combined to make heartache! you cant tell me Dimash cant say CAKE because when you pronounce the full word and remove the C then you have HEARTACHE perfectly! it doesnt get more easier than that my friend.
@The Warrior 4ever If Dimash read my comment he would RESPECT me more coz im a true fan. He is a perfectionist and he value POSITIVE CRITICISM. Thats all im saying. its a SIMPLE FIX. I'm also a fan maybe bigger than you all i want is for him to improve and i KNOW he is also like me. If he can use the tips i gave him then its good but if the words doesnt naturally flow from his mouth or difficulties then i WONT HOLD IT AGAINTS HIM but all i ask is try harder especially having sung this song a milion times its litterally just 1 or 2 word adjustments. I'm not asking him to walk on water all im saying is get a swimming instructor.

Ladies if you go back to where you stoped the program and was discussing Dimash's English. The Man's picture in the frame is his father.
The first one was great despite the poor English, the second one was a bit of a train wreck, going flat multiple times during the performance. I think this London concert was plagued with sound issues (I'm guessing) which may be why he was having such a hard time staying on pitch. As I recall the New York concert was better overall. I don't recall if he ever did this song again after this.
Yes, there were sound issues with mic and in-ear problems, but he was also quite sick with a high fever.

❤❤I love Dimash so much. I literally listen to him every single day, but I'm going to be honest I found that second performance a bit cringy - I didn't like it. Loooove the first one and the English problems didn't bother me at all - I love his accent and the performance was so good it really didn't matter to me at all. The second one - nah! Soz! Not for me.❤❤
You know what in SOS no english sub I didn't know what he is saying but I felt what he is saying and some of his song it will touch your heart even though I didn't know the lyrics it doesn't matter to me.
That was the very first song he sang in English, he couldn't speak English that time, apart from a few words.
