Love this dish , my mom made this for us frequently ! So delicious over rice with southern potato salad. ! Process to remove skin is entirely different ! Thank you !
Came out very well and looks delicious. The only thing i'd change is tomato paste. For some reason i hate the taste. I dont even use it in any of my tomatoe base stews. I dont even use it in Jollof rice, i just use very red bell pepper. God Bless.

i love your video, i'm curious as to why you boiled the fish first before you add it to the stew? i normally add it to the stew when the stew starts to cook but i notice it gets watery. scared to do your style cos then the catfish will be too soft and scatter all over but yours stayed intact. what step am i missing? would appreciate a prompt reply cos my family wants this for thanksgiving and i want to get really prepared.
Hi Lamide, I really did not boil the fish. I only put them in hot water to make them a bit firm. That helps to prevent the fish from scattering inside the stew. Also, once you put the fish inside the stew, it's advisable not to stir it vigorously. I hope this helps?

Pls help me, the last time I tried catfish made at home even tho it was seasoned properly for 2hours even with pepper and other spices, I had this fishy smell that I wanted to throw up. I want to make this stew ………will the boiling take that smell away or any technique???
