I love how you speak as though I'm sitting beside you. It's so enjoyable to feel included. You are a blessing and I appreciate sharing this time with you and yours. The painting is beautiful ❤️
This is great - loose, easy - not so "precious" although there is definately nothing wrong with precious. I think, well, at least for me, this and whimsical painting is just about my favoutite style....very forgiving. I would make my ooooops look like I meant it! And the line work and doodling is so much fun - there are NO oooops with that! Thanks Diane!
Right on time, as usual! You've taught me that everyone has a different experience with art supplies and that what works for me might not work for you. I didn't like the Paul Rubens half pans but so many Artists love it. I myself LOVE their 1st generation 5ml tubes. They're perfect and I still have them 3 years later!
These wrappers are so easy! I'm a beginner so I've only had Cotman pans and the wrappers drive my arthritic fingers to despair! haha I like this way of comparing colors in 4th generation and 5th generation. I learned a lot and love your painting. I love doing these kinds of painting and then doing line work later, I think it's a lot of fun and improves my watercolor paintings quite a bit!! Thank you!
Thank you Diane, yes, I do like line work with florals, makes them pop…sometime back now, I watched your video, florals on music sheets, now one of my favourite papers to paint on with Kuretake paints and line work, pop into an A5 black frame for my elderly live alone friends who are thrilled as they miss a garden and of course they love music…my grateful thanks to you…have a delightful spring warming up 🐝🌻🐾🐾🐞❤️
Thanks, Diane for the tip of Paul Rubens watercolor paper 100% cotton. It seems to be a great alternative to Meeden, that I can’t get sent from Amazon to Denmark. That is not a problem with Paul Rubens. Tada!
I love hearing your insights and knowledge about the paints ... I always learn something new! Even if I've heard something before, it reinforces my understanding and knowledge about various paints. Love the comparison about Gen 4 and Gen 5 paints. Thank you!
Thank you Diane. This was a fun video to watch. I enjoy this style of painting as I'm at an age where nothing works, the way it should, on my body. Painting loosely, then outlining and enhancing with gel or acrylic pens, works well for me even if the lines are a little shaky. I love the laid-back presentation of your videos and like to watch them when I need to chill out and just enjoy myself. And while RUclips tagged your one video for children (so it can't be saved) I haven't had problems saving your other video to watch again.
people in mexico have been doing those lines & dots like that for at least 70 years that i know of. someone bought me a beautiful blue wooden horse for my childhood horse collection that was painted like that. makes me wonder how long people have been doing that style & how far around the world it is done. beautiful! tfs 💖💚
That's interesting to see a comparison of different versions of the Paul Rubens paints - it really does depend on the type of look you want and the type of paintings you do. This floral design is so bright and cheery! Best wishes to your friend with his cancer treatment.
This is lovely, as ever with your work. I have a large box of Paul Ruben paints, but I really love my meeden tubes, my kuretake full pans, and my viviva. I may try out the PRs again, but...well I love the others!
Thank you. Paul Rubens seems to be a really consistent product. I prefer tubes also. I feel like my brushes get damaged on the pans.a nice porcelain palette I got from Jackson's has a lid and can just put a tad of paint in when I need it.
The regular videos are still going up Gloria! At least two a week! Just make sure you go to the channel and you will find them in the same place they have always been. You don’t have to watch the shorts!
I feel like Paul Rubens is really hit or miss sometimes! I have some paints that I ADORE from them, and others that I really don’t like much at all. I also have a couple of their watercolor sketchbooks, which aren’t the worst, but I stopped buying them in lieu of Etchr Labs, I like their paper more. Although my very favorite watercolor books are the Kilimanjaro paintbooks, they have a sheet of sketch paper between each sheet of watercolor paper, and the watercolor paper is just delicious! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these!! 🖤🖤🖤
Hi Diane , I love your painting ~ ya need to frame that one ! ❤️ I love the pink tin the colors come in~ I recently bought Paul Reubens 48 set in the pink plain tin. I love it! It was on sale .. and can with a small journal pink hot press book! The paints are gorgeous! Do you know what that material is used for besides protecting the palette tin? Anyway, much love to you ❤️✝️🙏🏻
Have you seen the Fudenosuke white brush pen? It is the strangest pen I've ever encountered. It goes on clear, then it can take 10-30(!!) seconds for the white line to appear after you draw. It's a bit disconcerting, after loving the black brush pen so much. It's really kind of neat, once you get used to having to wait for the white to appear, lol. I'm not a fan of Daylight savings time either. I have a hard time regulating my sleep, and getting up earlier isn't appreciated! Sending healing thoughts to your friend. :)
Do you keep an inventory of all the various paints that you own? There is so much! I know a lot of it is gifted to you by the makers but you must buy some too. I'm thinking that I should keep track of what I have since my collection is growing so much. In addition to the Sennelier and Daler Rowney that I bought while on vacation, I just ordered a few pans of the glitter paints that you used from Etsy, I ordered the "new" paper that you recommended and I am about to place an order for Drawell brushes to use in a class. I better figure out how to earn income from my art so I can pay for my supplies!
LOL, yes, that’s the route we end up going along! I don’t have any organised inventory, and until I started the channel my stash of paints was absolutely minimal - just a few old tubes of Daler Rowney, a few W&N and a Schmincke pan set that I put together in 1987. I still have those paints, so I‘m very aware that 99% of what I now have is not going to be used in my lifetime!
These look beautiful, but I don't buy anything made in China if I can help it. Besides, I really don't need another palette of watercolors. I also prefer tubes. Thanks for reviewing them.
2:00 🙋🏻 I care. Paul Rubens needs to be called out for including literature only in Chinese. I receive it as a lack of consideration for its customers, who spent precious money on their products. Can you imagine if Schmincke sent out literature in German only? Or Holbein only in Japanese? Not a good thing, as you say @Dianeantonstudio. Pkus, the whole branding as "generations" makes me think they are still exoerimenting and launching products that make the older ones look obsolete or less perfect. As always, it is nice to listen to you and paint. I am staying away from these, though. Tha ks for the review!
Yes, that’s what I think too, but it’s not something I can influence much. I do write to Paul Rubens often with suggestions which they sometimes listen to. But as to why the literature is all in Chinese, it’s mysterious.
I love how you speak as though I'm sitting beside you. It's so enjoyable to feel included. You are a blessing and I appreciate sharing this time with you and yours. The painting is beautiful ❤️
Thanking God in advance for keeping His good hand of healing and blessings upon your friend through his cancer journey.

The black and white line work really made it all pop! I love that sketchy messy cool style

So glad to hear that Kate!

I loved doing this along with you and had fun!!! Thank you , Diane❤
Love this. You always get me so motivated! Love your videos❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!!
This is so gorgeous ☺☺
Beautiful creation, so vibrant🥰🥰🥰
I love this!! Super neat!! Big hug from Sweden.

I do like this style. Many thanks.
I have the older version pink box and I really love these paints!

Glad Frankie came home. Miss your regular videos! Not a fan of shorts, but I guess you must. Bought 3 Tombow pens in colors & quite dramatic.

Wasn't being critical. Just like the chat & paint more.
❤ Thank you Diane 😊
Love this Diane !!
I usually prefer muted colors. Not into anything too bold. This is stunning. I would like to create something with these values.

The new palette is way different. Much more subtle like a professional set. Definitely different than the Kuetake paint.

No, I haven’t seen that one! Sounds interesting and I’ll have to check it out! Thanks for the kind thoughts xxx

Did your frank come home?
Yes he did, thank goodness. We are keeping a close eye on him now!
