SPLIT | Sci-Fi Horror Film (2023)

After going through a lot the past few months, I have had to unfortunately put my University work on the back-burner. Resulting in this being a delayed film in which I was meant to show a while ago. However never got round to filming until today.
Following on from the idea of "Place" we were told to create something that represents our "Identity". This could be something to do with sexuality or experience.
I chose to continue the theme of continuity and the idea of time reflecting upon a person, by solidifying the previous two films out of the three.
Following two variants of myself, talking about what time is truly like, we see glimpses of The Branches that have been created so far in my films. From work you have not seen yet to work you already have. On top of this we see glimpses of the past as they both reflect briefly upon the Absence of their past and how it shapes who they are today. Who I am today.
Finally it solidifies the theme of Circularity. As you watch both variants repeat the same loop over and over again, from the first moving to the other side and summoning his past self to fill in the blanks of the conversation he is having with you.
This is not strictly speaking accurate, as time does not quite work like that. However given my resources, this does reflect upon myself and keep my "theme" consistent.
You can definitely tell I made this film, even if I wasn't in it. It has my style.
A style that connects heavily to my identity and how I view myself and other versions of me from choices I have made.
I hope you enjoy this short and I hope you see how I have connected my most recent works together.
