I have a t6 with the standard headunit, which lacks carplay, there are some cheap aftermarket headunits (RCD330) that look OEM , provide carplay but then I loose DAB. Would you suggest keeping my owm headunit and getting a carplay bolt on the dash screen?
I’m just changing my stereo out in the t5 for one with a 7” screen so I can start testing the on dash CarPlay screens in the vw. 👍 but to answer your question it all depends on how important dab is for you. Personally when I’m using the CarPlay in the vw I use a radio app to steam my radio. So not really missed dab. The atoto stereo I have has an option for dab I think, I might have to get the addon and try it.
Can I ask what the sound is like as I’ve used my phone in Blue Tooth on a Pioneer SPH-da160dab and the sound is awful but if I plug USB lead in the sound is ok 🤔

I’m still using this in my car. To me it’s all exactly the same as plugged in without plugging it in.
Is this available in the UK?
