Major kudos to HAMSTER for bringing Metamorphic Force to home consoles. As much as I love Mystic Warriors, you have done an excellent job of releasing another KONAMI classic!
YES!! I was hoping for this one! I'm so grateful for hamster bringing all these arcade games to modern platforms. Still many more I'm hoping they can do
Hi Hamster Corporation, thank you finally releasing Metamorphic Force on ACA! I e-mailed you back in September (and a few years ago) requesting this game and a few other titles (including Violent Storm). I was happy to see you made the announcement for MF this morning, as it deserved to be released on modern consoles. It's highly appreciated and can't wait to buy it when it's out in the West.
This is a big deal we may have a chance to get Gaiapolis and Violent Storm ported. Violent storm will be like a miracle cause of the vocal music tracks in the game.
I was expecting Parodius Da but this Konami Classic also looks interesting. You can turn into different animals to fight against evil creatures. After Metamorphic Force, it's time for Twinbee Yahho to arrive to the Arcade Archives.
Yes!!!!!! Been waiting for this one! Buying tommorow. Please give us Konami's X-men. Will pay extra for that one alone! Also would rebuy the TMNT arcade games from you; as the Cowabunga collection versions don't have the same quality screen filters and emulation that you guys typically diliver!
Thank you, Hamster Corporation. I've been hoping you guys would port this to modern consoles. I only played Metamorphic Force once when I was sixteen years old and that was at the Century Theater in Hayward CA back in 1995. I remember hoping that Konami would port it to the PlayStation back in the day, but they never did. Though, I'm happy now that I can finally play it on the Nintendo Switch. Once again, thank you Hamster Corporation. 😃
This game has been on my mind since I played it in the 90s!! Totally awesome Konami game that plays like the X-Men arcade. They don't make beautiful arcade games like this anymore. What a wonderful surprise 😊
Another beat 'em up is finally coming to Arcade Archives, Switch included! Battlantis City Bomber Hot Chase Gangbusters S. P. Y. - Special Project Y M.I.A. Missing in Action Punk Shot Escape Kids The basketball game Run and Gun Martial Champion Monster Maulers Violent Storm Gaiapolis Racing Force Dragoon Might Those need to be on the Arcade Archives soon... I hope.
@@KarlSturmgewher and though it might require a Japanese account to obtain it, The Main Event (thing is that since ME's roster features lookalikes inspired by real wrestlers such as Hulk Hogan and Ricky Steamboat, it supposedly led to the WWF to consider a cease and desist motion against Konami at the time.)
Originally released in August of 1993 and running on Mystic Warriors Hardware, Konami's Metamorphic Force is a side scrolling brawler where players undergo radical changes to save the world. Storywise, in the year 199X AD, the ruler of the Kingdom of Horror known as Death Shadow has risen from the dead in order to take over it. In response, the Greek goddess, Athena, have summoned the souls of four ancient guardians and bestowed their power to four contemporary warriors to stop Death Shadow's plans once and for all. What makes their powers unique is that the heroes can transform into anthropomorphic beasts. The four heroes consist of the following: * Ban, a Japanese karate master whose beast spirit is a fighting bull which transforms him into the mighty Minotaur. * Claude, a noble French swordsman who wields a rapier, whose spirit is that of the white wolf, which transforms him into a white Werewolf. * Max, an American boxer who inherits the spirt of a black panther which transforms him into a werepanther. * Ivan, a Russian hunter and wrestler who carries a log as his weapon. His spirit is a bear which transforms him into a werebear. Gameplay wise, the controls use an 8 way joystick and two buttons which consist of attacking and jumping. When an enemy is on the ground, players can beat them while they're on the ground similarly to Crime Fighters, Vendetta, and X-Men. When things get troublesome, players can press both buttons for a powerful "Crowd Buster'' attack that comes at the expense of a small portion of your life energy. Occasionally, a humanoid feline will show up with a sack. If you attack him, he will drop one of 3 items: * Treasures that provide bonus points. * Chalices, wreaths, fists with lightning, and flexed arm figurines that provides extra life energy, and beast energy should the player be in beast form. * A statue of Athena which causes the player to transform into their beast form. If the player is already in beast mode, picking up this statue will automatically prompt the player to perform a stronger attack that hurts all enemies on the screen. When you transform into your beast form, you can perform stronger attacks and move quicker, but if you're hit, you'll lose transformative energy which if it is allowed to run out, will force your player to revert to his human form. This release includes the Japanese, European, and North American versions. Comparing the 3 released versions, there are various differences: * The Japanese version uses a traditional life gauge and lives system whereas the European and North American version uses a numerical life energy system. * In the Japanese version, you can revive as long as you have lives. In the European and North American versions, you have just a single life (similar to Crime Fighters). * In the Japanese version, each enemy and item has an assigned point value, while the European and North American versions add a single point each similar to various Konami games such as The Simpsons (US and World versions only), X-Men, Crime Fighters, and Vendetta. * Game settings are different on each version. For example, the Japanese version allows players to tweak the initial number of lives as opposed to the European and North American versions which allows players to tweak the value of energy per credit. Also, the number of loops in the Japanese version is set to a single loop while the other versions set it to endless as their default. * Some backgrounds in the Japanese version are different from the overseas versions, which alter it in order to avoid issues related to religious allusions. * The 5th round of the North American version begins with a boss gauntlet before facing the 5th boss, while the Japanese and European versions just go for the 5th boss.
Whenever I request Operation Wolf or Operation Thunderbolt, people often point out that they need gun controllers (not referring to politicians) and they are right because most of these ACA games are played with standard controllers, but they also don't realize that Pole Position 1 and 2 have options for steering wheel support built into the games!
You guys wanted Metamorphic Force on Arcade Archives, and now you got it. All I need to do wait for Hamster give us more Namco games as follow: 1. Super World Court (1992) 2. Blazer (1987) 3. Dirt Fox (1989) 4. Vs. Family Tennis (1987) 5. NebulasRay (1994) 6. Cutie Q (1979) 7. The Outfoxies (1995) 8. Vs. Super Sky Kid (1986) 9. Mach Breakers: Numan Athletics 2 (1995) 10. Kyūkai Dōchūki (1990)
This is awesome! I really wish Arcade Archives would release Konami's Asterix beat 'em up game that only came out in arcades. The license would cost something, but they could make it a more expensive Arcade Archives game, like they did with Mazinger Z. I'm guessing that the Asterix license can't be that hard to obtain.
I would pay $10 or more for Konami's X-men, Bucky O hare, Cowboys of Moo Mesa, and what ever other miscalenous liscneced games that have yet to be put on a compilation for IP reasons.
@travisbrown6598 ask Capcom. They might consider making an IP themed version of Capcom Arcade Stadium which might include Disney since they own the rights to Willow and AvP
@@Str8savage87 Hamster does not port games based on another media license judging by their pattern. Capcom does though. Marvel Vs Capcom Collection was released by Capcom. There is still quite a few games from Konami that are missing, like Black Panther, Kitten Kaboodle, Pandora's Palace, and more

Don't recall seeing this one in my local arcade as a kid. Still looks pretty good, but I'd love to see an HD remake.
I'm so happy to finally see this released on console. Now PLEEEASE do The Outfoxies!
I been asking Hamster for this for years. I figured Hamster would release it this year since they started release Konami games again last year.
Was hoping for Violent Storm, but this is the sevond best thing, hell yeah!
Kudos. Great game all but lost. Instant buy. As would Cowboys of Moo Mesa and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.
Super ... Siempre lo queria, esto lo jugábamos con mis amigos. Fue un juego muy popular en Latinoamérica
Thanks you so much I've been waiting to play this game for the first time it's pretty much Golden Axe meets Altered Beast.
Fuck yeah!!!
Thank you, Hamster.
Please release Violent Storm next please.
This makes me so happy 😊
For a Japanese company, pre-2010 era Konami really did nail the western comic book look perfectly
