For those who are not familiar with the cooking process, this is what I got from watching this slow moving video: First she boiled guava leaves with the papaya flowers until tender. She took out and discard the guava leaves and soaked the flowers in cold water. Drain till dry. Now she has a pot of water, add the flowers and seasonings. Looks like she has 2 short stalks of pandan, some chopped garlic and ginger, salt, brown sugar(?). I think the brown stuff is the dried fish. Next, add Moringa (malunggay) leaves. Cook all together until leaves are tender. Eat it like soup. Looks good with cooked rice. Enjoy!
I have forgotten about this video. LOL. Anyway, what is the purpose of the guava leaves. I don't know. We, in Ilocos do not boil guava leaves except to use in bathing sick or dead people! Honestly! That's the only time I've seen boiled guava leaves, and to use it in something to eat like soup? I don't think I'll like it that way. I would skip the part where you boil the guava leaves with the rest of the ingredients. @@lolitamiraflor3208
It is safe to use guava leaves, my husband use it as tea with guyabano leaves. It is great for healing wounds so it would be good if you have ulcers in your stomach or guts.
Yes, what are the spices please? I'm looking to make this for my brother to help with his diabetes. I have papaya and moringa on my property and my neighbor has guava so this looks perfect. We just don't have dried fish. I wonder if I could use chicken or beef base, or would fish bouillon base he better?
