I would love it if MLP focused on characterization this season! Getting to know the characters' pasts would also be really awesome! I heard that in one episode in this season we are gonna meet Fluttershy's brother! I'm really really excited!
Yea that would be awesome I would like to see the characters from starlights village and sunset shimmer I heard that the 2 parter finale is called the element of courage please be sunset shimmer I would like her to have some more characterisation
How about an episode to help develop Shining Armor's character? I've actually got an idea for an episode, but it mostly depends on when the baby is born. How about for a Shining Armor episode, we focus on him having to take care of the baby on his own while Cadence is busy with some sort of royal duty or something. The baby could get into all kinds of trouble and Shining Armor is just barely able to keep up (like that one episode when Pinkie babysits the Cake Babies). It might become a copy-and-paste episode, but I think it'd still be pretty good (and amusing) to watch. And it's something I can honestly see happening. Also, I have the perfect name for the baby if it's a girl: Luminous Melody. Luminous as a reference to her father Shining, and Melody as a reference to her mother Cadence (a musical term).
That would be a great for season 6 to do, building the strengths of characters old and new, I always wanted to see an episode to using on Celestia and Luna from the scene they had in slice of life and they and discord's backstory, and with starlight glimmer joining the cast, they could use that concept to interact with each other ^^
Skyla's appearance comes to mind also. I have a full comment saying all of the different opportunitys that they have with skyla being a cannon character.
Yes, I wholeheartedly agree with this idea, though I also would like for Season 6 to do something else as well; it should be the final season of Series 1 of G4 MLP. I have a foreboding feeling if it goes any longer, the later seasons will go into seasonal rot, plus we've seen all the Mane 6 with long-running ambitions fulfill their dreams (Twilight teaching & spreading the Magic of Friendship as a Princess, Rarity expanding her business to Canterlot, RD becoming a true Wonderbolt) while the others are almost fully-realized characters. So besides expanding upon background characters, I'd also like Season 6 to close up on all the Mane 6's story arcs & setting the stage for a new cast of Mane 6. I actually have a theory the main protagonist of Series 2 of G4 MLP is Princess Cadence & Shining Armor's new foal.
Blasphemy! How dare you to speak out against the glory that are season spanning arcs?! Just because they are usually forgotten throughout the majority of the season they are supposed to connect? And what do you want to give it up for?- More focus on those characters that got us invested in the show in the first place, and also those new ones we immediately liked? That would just be fanpandering! No, I demand epicness! I demaned Discord riding Celestia into battle a fusion of Tirek and Starswirl's reanimaed evil zombie corps! And the battle shall last an entire season (Just like they manged to stretch a single chapter of Dragonball into 20 TV episodes)! Because that's what My Little Pony is really all about! Wait. What was the topic again? Oh whatever - nice vid, nem!
Cc, I was wondering if you could answer this question. what is the spark? I mean the one the was mentioned a lot in the first to third season? I have been doing a lot of research on it but I was only able to come up with the fact that the spark meant destiny. I'm talking about the spark mentioned in star sworld the bearded spell in season 3 finally....please and thank you......?
+Candy Lachance Most likely it's just inspiration or insight, a starter factor in an action. Like the thoughts Twilight has just before her eyes spark in episode 2 and in 'Magical Mystery Cure.' That, and _she_ is the 'spark' for the Mane6 to be friends and heroes of Equestria.
+cannedcream Hey Cc, there's been a topic that I can't get out of my head, and I want to see your thoughts! So we the members of the Lunar Republic have seen Luna's so called "dark side" also known as nightmare moon. So I was wondering if other ponies have dark sides as well. You know who I think as a dark side? None other than our favorite party planner, Pinkie Pie. Now I'm not trying to make a "Cupcakes" fanfic, but think about it. In the episode "Party of One" we see in one of the parts that Pinkie is home alone with her mane down, her twitching here and there, and her seeing things. I'm not saying that she has a full one dark side, I'm just saying she was acting weird. But then let's look at Twilight. In the episode "Lesson Zero" she was freaking out about not having a lesson to write to Princess Celestia. I have a feeling you know the rest because it's to hard to explain. Tell me what you think. I'd love to here your thoughts! This is Time Archer (my pony oc) signing out.
endergirl190 Every being has equal potential for great light and great darkness, and they are not mutually exclusive, despite what Jedi and Sith might think. It's up to one's own choices.
+Ben N (BNuts) That's understandable, but what do you think goes on in our candy color friends minds? Yes, it does seem odd but everyone has their flaw. Pinkie and Twilight are just two I named, think about all the other characters in mlp, where have we seen our characters in their darkest light. Have seen them the most that way we have seen our antagonists? Okay, I know I'm being to much about this but think about it Twilight,Applejack,Pinkie pie,Rarity,Rainbow dash, and even ( well maybe not ) FlutterShy. But I digress, I'm being to real here. But what do you expect I'm from the Lunar Republic. I stand by my theory, but it's just a theory it's not the best but until the series progresses there's still a big puzzle of where we learn more about our pony friends. So my theory might grow or it might not. There's still a lot to learn.... ~Time Archer
Here is a thought. I grew up on Sailor Moon (magical girl anime), and there is one episode where Ami /Sailor Mercury has the opportunity to go study abroad and become a doctor like her mother. It is something she always wanted. And her friends want her to achieve that dream as well, to the point that they don't tell her that a minor bad guy is attacking and they are losing the fight. But in the end, she comes to the conclusion, on her own, that she can't leave. Not just her friends, but the fate of the world my ride on her being there with her friends. And each of them at some point have to make a choice between what they want for themselves, and the good of the many. I want an episode like that. The mane six, as shown in the season 5 finale, carry the fate of Equestria on their shoulders. And that may mean that they have to make the hard choice between the life they want and the well being of those they love.
A season that focuses on the characters would be nice, but then again they would heve to work in a good finale and something to continue the show. So that might be a final season thing and I really dont want the show to end.
I believe the show is suppose to be running for about 10 more years, so no worries about the ending of the show. But you could have the action/adventure long arc story as well as the character development episodes. If that is what your worried about. =)
I have to agree that when they arent trying to build a bigger world and stick to small scale characters and let them grow the show shines. It's a nice treat to get a backstory on something thats happened or see new places, but the best episodes seem to always be the ones where characters take the spot light and are allowed to show who and what they are. I do hope they keep growing the cast to deeper levels but still giving us some new locations or expanding on the ones we've already seen.
Definetly characters! All our favorite background ponies and even our mains. I love learning about their story. We have yet to see twilight, rainbow dash or fluttershys family. Maybe they Dont have any, but we could see how they lived when they where younger. I would also love to see for example lyra and bon bon, dr. Hooves and Derpy or Vinyl and octavia having their own episodes.
CC I was wondering if you could possibly make a video on your ideas or views on the parents of the main 6... I mean we see Twilight's parents but dont really know anything about them, and the whole mystery behind Applejack's parents and Fluttershy' and Rainbowdash's families. Also i'm still curious if sweet little Scootaloo is an orphan or if she has parents, theres rumors that Daring Do is her mother could it be true?
+Ventusanimegirl Rainbow has been shown to have a father; Rainbow Blaze. AJ's parents are confirmed dead, and nothing's really known about Fluttershy yet
I think the 3 episode Rarity story arc of season 5 was an experiment to test story arcs in MLP. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more story arcs that would feel like a two-parter during the middle of the season. That would stack the continuity and character growth. I personally would love it!
I don't think there will be a season 7, I think they will go up to 6. Personally what I think will happen is, first Hasbro announces a new season, Great! Then after they put out a trailer for the new eqg movie, (4). And then a little while later, the new season starts and then it ends around late 2016, early 2017, then the eqg movie is released, following down at the end of the show, on Nov. 3, 2017. now that doesn't mean we need to be upset, it's 2 YEARS we have a wait for, so we will last, and sgter the show ends the fandom will still be here, and possibly males and females will like the new series of MLP if the 5th generation is made with a whole new premise and charcters, I'm sure with the love and care from another company, I'm sure they can create a good new MLP generation for us to enjoy.
Personally I want more adventures descussing things like apple jacks parrents, fluttershys past a bit more and bring more varity to the lands maybe with sunset shimmer returning to the pony world temporarily because something happens where she's needed or maybe star swearl gets better explained likt in the journal of the two sisters book he mastered time travel and helps explain celestia and lunas story because in the joural it explains the not all alicorns are royalty and infact there is an intire race of them but never explains where ...but just my wish
I ran a poll in the biggest MLP group in Google+ where I asked what is the best thing about MLP, and the overwhelming majority, 80%, said the characters. So I think you're onto something! MLP has the most fun and memorable characters I've ever seen in a TV show!
I for one would like to see more PRO Spike episodes. I saw this one vid that had a theory that Spike is actually a reborn dragon king who was regressed into an egg during Lunas banishment when his power was sealed in a soul gem. I'd like to see something like this be cannon. Also maybe having Rarity start seeing him as her knight in purple armor, cause lets face it all the ponies she's had hopes for didn't work or just used her as a shield from punch or cake. I'd like to see more of the background cast play more of a roll in the episodes. Each episode doesn't have to focus on the entire Mane 6, but can be of one of Mane 6 while in the company of a few of the background characters. I'd like to see AJ and Rara hang out sometime when Rara is taking a break from being famous and laying low at Sweet Apple Acers helping the Apple family. Maybe have The Doctor try to teach Twilight his science with maybe a bit of accidental time travel. Fluttershy, Discord, and Tree Hugger hanging out after she got her aura purified. Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich coming together to plan the next Galloping Gala in Pinkies party cave. Also I'd like to see Flash get some love, he's been getting more hate that Prince Blue Blood just cause he and Twilight maybe have a thing. I personally would like to see Flash transferred to Ponyville and be Twilights guard captain and maybe hint at a relationship between them.
I feel like I am in the minority of those who enjoyed the overarching plots. Only one I didn't like was the Equestria Games one (as a whole). For me I feel the show needs to focus more on explaining how things work, like we still don't know much about the Tree of Harmony and I want more background on Celestia and Luna, and Cadence. Sure we've had books explaining their histories, but I want them to be show canon.
I love me some character building, but I would also definitely like to keep seeing world building. The Cutie Map has done wonders to expand our view of Equestria out. Its not just Canterlot, Ponyville, the Everfree Forest, and Appleloosa on a blue moon. Its a vast, expansive kingdom, and some world building blended in with the character building would be divine. Maybe more about Cloudsdale and our two pegasi, or other locales with Apples, anything really.
cc can you make an review on how to fix the character of prince blueblood? You already did for flash so why not another character with missed potential?
I think that what the show really needs is small stories that, each in their own way, build into a larger, more grand story. It isn't one or the other, but both. All of the moments and instances that show us who and what the characters are, but with points, details, and information leading into an overarching plot. Personally, I want to see a second Cutie Mark Chronicles-style episode, with the CMC asking other characters- most noteably Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Shining Armor, Big Mac, Starlight Glimmer and Sunset Shimmer- how they got their Cutie Marks. It could tie into a loose end from the last season: What happened to the Fillies in Starlight's village. They were there, and they had the same creepy smiles as the adults, so they must have bought into the whole Equality as a way of life thing, but they were still blank-flanks. More interesting is that when the Cutie marks were restored, the Fillies were gone. Nowhere to be seen. Can you imagine what would happen if they came back having naturally occurring Equals sign Cutie Marks? It would be up to the Mane Six, Starlight Glimmer, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders to find out, over the course of the entire season, how to fix it, which means learning more about Cutie Mark Magic.
Agreed, season 6 should focus really on two things: Character development and world building. The map in of itself can handle the world building sending the mane 6 all across equestria and if it ties into the CMC they could handle problems in ponyville and other locations close to home and with episodes that send the mane 6 away elsewhere there could be "filler" episodes thats serve as a chance for all the side characters to have their time in the sun. I'm hoping for character development for Starlight Glimmer the most really and due to a hint given by the writers...a princess might lose her wings....there are 4 alicorn princesses so theres no promise it'll be Twilight, what do you think CC?
Hey Canned Cream, what do you think about Starlight's backstory of how she became evil? I found it to be quite lackluster as her reasoning only happened _once_. I think it may have been better if her problem happened multiple times, being left by those who gained their cutie mark and her slowly decaying into the madness that she became.
I agree with you. I'd also like to eventually get into those magic items we heard about in the premiere eventually. They sound interesting. Maybe they could have the premiere of season six start off with them needing that during the premiere without it spanning the entire season. They have to go on a scavenger hunt for the things while having some sort of conflict-not with the big bad but with eachother. I kind of want to see Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy lose it on eachother and be at odds for like 15 minutes. Been feeling some hostility between them for a while now and they just need to air it out. (Unless I'm imagining it.)
In a perfect world, id love to see more characterization AS WELL as overarching stories, but for me, characterization has priority too. Seeing the background ponies coming out of the background was probably the best thing about season 5.
I think that is a perfect idea the season just on the characters and also can go into the background story be hide them like how they showed the stories of the main 6's cutie marks and it showed that they were destined to be best friends before they knew it and I think if they do go into their past the characters pasts I really want to see is the princesses like how did they get their cutie marks and who is cadence's parents were was she born
Hey candid Where do you think sunset shimmer lives in the alternate world? I've watched the my past is not today music video and I reckon she might sleep up on that roof. Your thoughts?
I know that i would love a season that spent more time developing that have already been introduced like the Wonder bolts, Trixie, Gilda and various background ponies.
How do you save your OC? I used the website that you did for your OC character but I can't see how to save and use mine for vids. PLZ REPLY CANNEDCREAM!!!!!
I would like to see the cutie map pull the odd secondary character into missions alongside a couple of the mane 6. A few obvious candidates for this would be a CMC being called in for a mission to do with helping somepony who doesn't understand their cutie mark, or "Time Turner" and "Muffins" being called in alongside a mane 6 pony for a particularly twisted time travel episode, or a secret agent Sweety Drops mane 6 combo mission, or the map calls Sunset Shimmer back for a mission, and the list goes on and on. The point is that these would be great opportunities to develop the secondary characters and the mane 6 and still keep the overarching plot moving forward.
I just recently binge watched Candid Canned i have fallen back in love with the mlp universe thanks to you! At least i know i have one show that won't be ending for a loooong time. *cough, cough* Gravity Falls *Cough,Cough* Steven Universe! *sobs quietly in a corner*
CC, love, i know you are thinking of a season full of episode of "pinkie pride", "lesson zero", "art of the dress" or "sonic rainboom." level of character development. but realistically, if they try to a pull a full season of character building.... i fear it may end up all being mostly "miss-maredowell", "over a barrel" "spike at your service" or "rainbow falls" level of character butchering.
you know, i think you're right. many fans are leaving or growing distant, and they've all said the same thing: "they're not attatched to the show anymore." I think alot of that comes from the characters, and they havent been focusing alot on those in season 4 and 5. so lets hope for a season to develop characters ^^
I'm sure many of us would love to see the characters get more development. In fact I know many who would be thrilled to see some character development in a lot of the characters like Cadence and Shining Armor. How fun would it be to have a slice of life episode based on the lives of Celestia and Luna?
I love the idea of having the characters fleshed out a bit more, and let use get more of an understanding of them, many take a break in the middle and continue back on the idea. you know, just give fans an idea of how a lot of the characters grew up. Also give us a reason why Scootaloo(quote me if I'm wrong in the spelling) doesn't seem to have parents, from our perspective, you know, just... give us some kind of clue that she has parents, and that she's not an orphan or something.
do what the original bionicle story did by have different toa teams & having some toa becoming dark hunters, another mane 6 doing completely different stuff. some bionicle references like rarity and luna act a little bit like Nokama, armor and cadance act like Jalal and hahli for example. a star wars type episode gotta be worked on. if anyone does not know some of the voice actors were from the bionicle movies, plus bionicle and mlp are basically the same.
+Al Michenfelder I wouldn't be surprised if the premier of Season 6 has something to do with Princess Cadance having her baby and the child is foalnapped by a new villain. Or a returning one? *Cough cough* Chrysalis!
I think honestly that they should focus more on skyla and cadence's behaviour during the time leading up to her arrival. So yes, I completely agree with you. We don't need big story lines to keep us entertained, we need more information on the little details, the things that they cared about in the first seasons. Just small friendship problems that could be caused due to stress. Again, skyla's appearance comes to mind. We could have a scenario near the very beginning of the season about twilight having stress problems about being an aunt, an example being;will she be a good aunt? Will her niece/nephew even like her? What would she have to do around them? There are many things she could worry about, so this is a golden opportunity to have a twilight episode. It also gives the staff an excuse for twilight not being in the episode. She could be out with spike getting supplies or visiting the crystal empire to see how cadence is doing. Skyla is an opportunity for mlp, and I hope they take it
We also saw the Hooffield's and Mccolt's territory. Also they should bring new characters but develop old secondary characters like showing Rara interact with fans to show celebrities are ponies/people too.
I personally want to know about the "mistery side characters" you know, like Zecora and Starswirl, some bad guys maybe, I want to know what the hay happend in their past
I think a healthy mix of both would be good, and (this is my fan boy thing) I saw a comic were the main six, went Nightmare, and the secondary 6 had to step up and free each one, and Luna could help them, making them a more outer country group that helps the mlp world with they're issues, not just the ponys
Actually, it was 3 new locations. the third is the two mountains that the hooffields and the mccolts live on 4 locations if you count starlight glimmer's home so more wold building then you think
Being more in-depth with the characters would be a major plus! I must say I certainly feel like one of the story writers with the character writing now that I look at it; I'm currently writing a massive fanfic series in which I'm 11,072 words in across 3 of the 5 chapters of the first book (these are skeleton drafts... I've got my work cut out for me) and I have an OC main character, who has already interacted with about 3 solid OC side/ supporting characters (2 of which I'll also write their own short fics), has interacted with 2 characters from the show, and is planned to interact with many more of both story characters and OCs later on...feeling the pain of procrastinating a solid table-chart for the characters! xD
+AHS Valor (Val) Good luck with your fimfic. It may be easier for things to flow once you get into it. I never officially made a character chart, but I do have notes for all my OCs.
Ben N Thanks, man! Lol fun times all around. I just thought a massive chart would be best since I could list the characters primary personality traits, what they think of the main character, what they think of life, plot out the actions they will take toward the world and the main character etc. :P
Ben N Yup, already went in knowing that, actually :) Everything I write about the characters in the fic are based on real life people in which I have met, just with a few tweaks. Later on, once their personalities are cemented in, I'll be extremely retrospective as always and predict character's reactions if I throw them in certain situations with certain variables at play. Thanks for the advice, bro.
Hmm I don't know, I think you sir have brought up some excellent points but what of the things that annoyed me the most about season 5 was in episode 18, it was a my favourite episode because the CMC are my favourite characters but here's the thing they got their Cutie Marks and that was it. I found myself yelling in frustration at one of the episodes that followed it because I failed to see the point. I wanted to know how these new Cutie Marks would affect their lives, apparently they're bored and that was it. The Mane Attraction was the last episode they did anything in and it did nothing for them. In season 6 I would like to see the CMC get a chance to grow and find ways to help other ponies but here's the question I have, How would it work? Would ponies approach them and ask for help or would they be given like a government grand to do it? I doubt the second one but I also hope that like Applejack and Fluttershy they're marks relate to their careers. As for the question you asked I wasn't stuck on the Cutie Map idea because I felt there were episodes it could have been used and it wasn't. So maybe in season 6 they could have a character building season but I would like to see an enemy that might present a problem, like a hidden enemy, an enemy that works from within to try and defeat the main 6. Here's an idea I've been toying with: At the end of the first two parter of season 6 the ponies discover, Starswirled the Bearded! He's alive and well, a bit thin but alive, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna welcome him back with open hooves and he states he wants to live in Ponyville. Then throughout the season he starts to create problems that begins to destroy the Main 6s reputation, they fix the problem but it does them no favours, to the point at the season finalie where Princess Celestia announces the Main 6 are to be arrested for treason. It's then up to characters like the CMC, Zecora, Big Mac and Discord to find out what's been going on. Meanwhile Twilight and the others are protesting their innocence but Celestia isn't buying it. Then at the end it's revealed Starswirled the Bearded was a ghost seeking revenge on Equestria for not making him an Alicorn. He is then reformed but passes on. The reason I suggest this is because I don't believe Starswirled was a nice pony, he created a spell that swapped cutie marks which was similar to the removal spell from the start of season 5 which makes me believe he invented the spell and Starlight discovered it, he banished the sirens to another dimension treating that dimension like a dumping ground and he didn't seem to do anything to stop the windigos. I'm sure there was a reason for each but for now I'm choosing to view him as a past character with few redeeming qualities. But this is just a silly idea and it probably wouldn't work. Still these are my thoughts.
Continuing adventures of CMC, the bun comes out of Cadence's oven and Twilight being an aunt, develop Starlight's relationship with the Elements of Harmony, more Discord, yeah I guess I'm not very creative just thinking about wrapping up or continuing previous stories.
Some curse blade coming out from sky and hit at center of ponyville create a huge storm making no sun and moon and of course no light and dark and lone wanderer wolf appear
I actually like the idea of Friendship is Magic having story arcs. I also love all the character development that happens pretty much every episode. I think the MLP staff could work on a character interaction arc, without ACTUALLY having a grand story. It builds both continuity and character strength. Yes, there seems to be an actual grand story going on throughout the show, which I love. I think they've actually improved on story arcs since the beginning. So, for MLP Season 6, my one wish is that it has a character interaction story arc.
I would definitely appreciate a more character-focused season, but I do think that the map shouldn't be abandoned with the start of season 6. The journeys that the mane 6 went on during season 5 were able to show how far they've come as characters (plus seeing those different combinations within the main cast didn't hurt either).
I dont know, I mean characterization for the main cast would be great even thought we have always gotten a little out of each episode like the episode canterlot wedding would be a good example. This episode was part characterization for Twilight and yet a huge mystery and adventure. I think characterization would be good for a season 6 but not just characterization and maybe a bit of adventure
One of these days, I'd like for there to be an episode that starts off with the introduction of a new character, and have THEM be the mane character for the story. Yes, I am aware that Slice of Life did something similar to this, where it had the background characters be the main focus of the episode, while the Mane Six were merely in the background. What I'd prefer is an episode where a new character is introduced, and the RUN INTO the Mane Six (or, in the very least, some of the Mane Six), and have them help this new character. Just a thought. (Also, we could have an episode focused on Celestia. Maybe something where she faces the threat of turning evil? Maybe?...)
We could also bring back some "One-Liner" characters, such as Lightning Dust, Cheese Sandwich, maybe even characters such as Spitfire and the Wonderbolts, the history of Applejack's Parents, and Examples like that. You can invest theses things into many different ways. Although it will satisfied some of the Bronies!
In season six I'd like to see more of the past of our mane six and a look into what their childhood was like they done in a few episodes in just flashback or story telling and may get a look at the parents and siblings of our favorite ponies. I'd also like to see more with Zecora and her lifestyle
I agree with your CC. I really enjoy charcterization and stuff with the characters! In fact this is why I watch Avengers movies!, not the battle scenes, fights or something like that. ( though it is really cool) I watch a lot of it for the characters and the fun stuff they do together. So CC i hope your right and the staff decide to do this! Love your videos hope to see more!
I would like season 6 to focus more on the characters while giving little adventure elements like season 1.I mainly would like to see Spike getting some love, dragon territory, Spike's past, and the reason why there is an extra seat for him in the castle. He is obviously important, but what is his purpose? Whatever it is, it must be huge. I kind of would like to see Garble again because he is Spike's opposite and possible foil. Dragon territory needs to explore.
so you know how luna is the princess of the night so that means takes care of the dreams of equestria and she was banished to the moon for 1000 years i wonder who took charge of the while luna was banished. hmmmmmm
Maybe the show's staff could be the characters for an episode. :) I'm kind of mixed about the overarching story idea because it does show they have planned the season finale, but it only really seems to be bookends for each season rather than being an overarching story.
Well with the movie coming up in 2016 I wouldn't be suprised if they tie the whole of session 6 in with that, maybe not a story ark but sort of a lead up to what ever event will happen in the film.
what I think for season 6, is just by the way season 5 ended, it sounds like twilight sparkle is going to teach starlight glimmer tease magic of friendship similar to season 1
It sounds like a good idea. There is plenty of characters to choose from in the cast. There could be a some stories like the cmc help their classmates with their problems.Or final hit topics that were shying away from like Dragons. Spike is not the only dragon in equestria and I refuse to believe he is the only nice one out there. Now this is the perfect time to do it.Twilight already met the ponies representing the difference aparts of equestria kinda and Brokered a truce with the rampaging yaks. Now is a good time to open the doors to willing dragons.
U want next season to go deeper and to show more detail of the new and old characters and kingdoms of equestria I want a mixture of the cutie map type episodes and the slice of life type episodes
after watching this i kinda wanna see a cutie mark switch with those supporting characters. like can you imagine a switch of shining and big mac? or even just some more suite mark stories! what does shining's represent? how did he get it? WHEN did he get it? was it because of his love for his little sister? or something else?how about filthy rich? what is his story? also maybe they can explain why EVERY SINGLE WONDERBOLT has the EXACT SAME SMOKE-LIKE flight trail? like rainbows is hers. its a rainbow streak and even lightning dust had a lightning bolt in her streak but like why are the wonder bolts the exact same? maybe we can see some of their background as well? maybe see their actual cutie marks or how they got into the wonder bolts? i dk just saying it'd be cool.
I do like the idea of going into the other characters. Maybe because my best pony happens to be a secondary character, but I would love them to go more into the lives and personalities of the other these popular characters even if just a little. I believe it would open up many more opportunities for where the show could go and make it go much farther. But the adventures with the mane six have really been what I really loved about the show when I first started watching the show, so, I 'm really torn on opinion here.
I think they should focus on characters and story having characters bearing a larger roll at the end season like other characters can bear the elements of harmony and my elements of disharmony.
I think season long arcs are good and I like them but... what about when the mane 6 can't do anymore in Equestria? I'd like to see some CMC episodes, what will they do now that they have their cutie marks? Starlight Glimmer, is she still running her old town, if so, how and what is she going to do. if not, what will she do now? I'd like to see Princess Luna, Princess Celestia, and Discord have a slice of life episode to see how they interact on a day by day basis. does Discord visit Fluttershy anymore or send her letters, maybe more interactions with those two as well.
focus on ponies themselves or grander stories? yes. I want the whole wonderbolts team to become a major part of the show when dash becomes one. I want to get to know them each. sometimes the main 6 and the wonderbolts will go on a mission together. your idea of focusing on specific characters is a way that the show could continue forever. have an octavia episode. a celestia episode. double diamond, carrot top... it wouldn't be possible to run out of scripts.
That would be a great for season 6 to do, building the strengths of characters old and new, I always wanted to see an episode to using on Celestia and Luna from the scene they had in slice of life and they and discord's backstory, and with starlight glimmer joining the cast, they could use that concept to interact with each other ^^
Agreed :)
Skyla's appearance comes to mind also. I have a full comment saying all of the different opportunitys that they have with skyla being a cannon character.
Also agreed. I also want an episode on the mane six's parents. We have seen them before but the game is the only thing that gives real names.
+Tayleigh Rees Her name isn't Skyla, it;s Flurryheart.
+AnY Entertainment ...Actually, I would TOTALLY watch a season of that. Damn.
😳yas. Do it hasbro.😳
+AnY Entertainment i read that in your angry voice
Silver comet I hope you also included my overdramatic hysteric pitch I usually use for that kind of rants ^^
AnY Entertainment Naturally
I love whatever you think can and cream cuz I think you're right about the seasons they need to be amazing
+Ben N (BNuts) Yep, I think Ben's right.
+Blazetailx Realm AAAAWWWWWEEEESSSSSSSOOOOOOOMMMMMME!, Ten years!? I am going to be out of college by the time this ends!
+Jason Melz Dont forget MLP has been running way before FIM started so it could well run for another 20 years or more imo if done right.
+codi schumacher good point, but who says the next gens are going to be good, we could just have a bunch of gen 3's on our hoofs.
Jason Melz
Ive been watching MLP since the 80s and the show hasnt let me down so I have faith in it.
YES! CannedCream why are you so awesome! You agree with me on friggin everything! Also fingers - uh - hooves crossed for a Trixie return xD
i would love to see more character development,
great video dude
I have to agree that when they arent trying to build a bigger world and stick to small scale characters and let them grow the show shines. It's a nice treat to get a backstory on something thats happened or see new places, but the best episodes seem to always be the ones where characters take the spot light and are allowed to show who and what they are. I do hope they keep growing the cast to deeper levels but still giving us some new locations or expanding on the ones we've already seen.
Season 6 is said to do something new with discord that we have never seen before, so what do you guys think it will be?
+War-Doc Gaming BACK STORY i mean come on we wait long enough
Yea, but we know how episodes on the past go.
Wait, where was this confirmed?
Twitter and a panel.
Discord! Woo! Yeah!
FINALLY! BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR A VIDEO
U win the prize to the longest comment so far
hey canned can you make an episode an diamond tiaras redemption as a response to jerry peets argument on the crusaders of the lost mark?
I feel like I am in the minority of those who enjoyed the overarching plots. Only one I didn't like was the Equestria Games one (as a whole). For me I feel the show needs to focus more on explaining how things work, like we still don't know much about the Tree of Harmony and I want more background on Celestia and Luna, and Cadence. Sure we've had books explaining their histories, but I want them to be show canon.
i would like to know how you get your pony to move the way it does
WHERE is your Cuitemark and what dose it look like
+Rachel Thomas He doesn't have one yet. He's explained it before
I love me some character building, but I would also definitely like to keep seeing world building.
I just what to know what happened to Mama and Papa Apple. AJ mentioned they were gone, but gone like dead or literately just missing?
cc can you make an review on how to fix the character of prince blueblood?
Yes, I'd love more character building plots!
Hey candid
Where do you think sunset shimmer lives in the alternate world?
I've watched the my past is not today music video and I reckon she might sleep up on that roof. Your thoughts?
Well whatever is going to happen in season 6, is already set in stone. Big Jim mentioned weeks ago that season 6 was nearing the end of production.
I know that i would love a season that spent more time developing that have already been introduced like the Wonder bolts, Trixie, Gilda and various background ponies.
AWSOME vid!!!! By The way, could You tell me What app do You use for Your videos? Pretty please?
How do you save your OC? I used the website that you did for your OC character but I can't see how to save and use mine for vids. PLZ REPLY CANNEDCREAM!!!!!
So are we gonna see Starlight's friend in season 6, 7, or 8?
CC, love, i know you are thinking of a season full of episode of "pinkie pride", "lesson zero", "art of the dress" or "sonic rainboom." level of character development. but realistically, if they try to a pull a full season of character building.... i fear it may end up all being mostly "miss-maredowell", "over a barrel" "spike at your service" or "rainbow falls" level of character butchering.
when every I watch one of your vids it always reminds me of Dr. hooves and asisent... you voice the newish company
you know, i think you're right. many fans are leaving or growing distant, and they've all said the same thing: "they're not attatched to the show anymore." I think alot of that comes from the characters, and they havent been focusing alot on those in season 4 and 5. so lets hope for a season to develop characters ^^
I'd like to see more of Spike and a few episodes dedicated to him. Spike is SO underrated.
do what the original bionicle story did by have different toa teams & having some toa becoming dark hunters, another mane 6 doing completely different stuff. some bionicle references like rarity and luna act a little bit like Nokama, armor and cadance act like Jalal and hahli for example. a star wars type episode gotta be worked on. if anyone does not know some of the voice actors were from the bionicle movies, plus bionicle and mlp are basically the same.
yes i like a story on shining armor having a foal. is there a brother or family to fluttershy?
+Al Michenfelder I wouldn't be surprised if the premier of Season 6 has something to do with Princess Cadance having her baby and the child is foalnapped by a new villain. Or a returning one? *Cough cough* Chrysalis!
Thanks for doing this video and I love these new characters😊
I can't wait for Season 6 to come to Netflix! *excited scream*
Actually, it was 3 new locations. the third is the two mountains that the hooffields and the mccolts live on
4 locations if you count starlight glimmer's home
so more wold building then you think
I would some character development here and there but there also needs to be a plot in the background of the season
Being more in-depth with the characters would be a major plus!
I must say I certainly feel like one of the story writers with the character writing now that I look at it;
I'm currently writing a massive fanfic series in which I'm 11,072 words in across 3 of the 5 chapters of the first book (these are skeleton drafts...
***** My advice: do not center their worldview on the MC. Each character is her or his own center.
There were more than two new locations in season five.
Still these are my thoughts.
who are the new secondary six if any
and disharmony
Continuing adventures of CMC, the bun comes out of Cadence's oven and Twilight being an aunt, develop Starlight's relationship with the Elements of Harmony, more Discord, yeah I guess I'm not very creative just thinking about wrapping up or continuing previous stories.
Some curse blade coming out from sky and hit at center of ponyville create a huge storm making no sun and moon and of course no light and dark and lone wanderer wolf appear
instead of the main cast how about Cadence LUNA Celestia flash sentry and DERPY
I actually like the idea of Friendship is Magic having story arcs. I also love all the character development that happens pretty much every episode. I think the MLP staff could work on a character interaction arc, without ACTUALLY having a grand story. It builds both continuity and character strength. Yes, there seems to be an actual grand story going on throughout the show, which I love. I think they've actually improved on story arcs since the beginning. So, for MLP Season 6, my one wish is that it has a character interaction story arc.
Hey cc who is best pony and who is best princess
I would like to have an episode of the background ponies or some adventures of Derpy and Dr hooves
I'd love to see their past aswell what a great idea
I agree with your CC. I really enjoy charcterization and stuff with the characters! In fact this is why I watch Avengers movies!, not the battle scenes, fights or something like that. ( though it is really cool) I watch a lot of it for the characters and the fun stuff they do together. So CC i hope your right and the staff decide to do this! Love your videos hope to see more!
I would like season 6 to have more world building and talk about the characters pasts more especially luna, discord and celestia
I think the season 6 premiere will have a evil that gets away and comes back to do something to cadence and shining armor`s baby (princess skyla)
I think that, in season 6, we're gonna EXPLORE EQUESTRIA, cause that's the name of the new toy line
how do you make your videos? cuz i just started my youtude channel and i want to do something similar to what you do.
so you know how luna is the princess of the night so that means takes care of the dreams of equestria and she was banished to the moon for 1000 years i wonder who took charge of the while luna was banished. hmmmmmm
Maybe the show's staff could be the characters for an episode. :)
I'm kind of mixed about the overarching story idea because it does show they have planned the season finale, but it only really seems to be bookends for each season rather than being an overarching story.
I think I wanna see is more of character in Season 6.
how many seasons do u think mlp will have
yesh 5 years have passed and still we only know little about the main six
U want next season to go deeper and to show more detail of the new and old characters and kingdoms of equestria
I want a mixture of the cutie map type episodes and the slice of life type episodes
speaking of season 5 did anyone else get the harry potter refference with the bug bear? hagrid mentioned getting rid of one in the chamber of secrets.
after watching this i kinda wanna see a cutie mark switch with those supporting characters. like can you imagine a switch of shining and big mac? or even just some more suite mark stories! what does shining's represent? how did he get it?
But the adventures with the mane six have really been what I really loved about the show when I first started watching the show, so, I 'm really torn on opinion here.
wait is season 6 confirmed? or is this just a high possibility? :O :D
I think they should focus on characters and story having characters bearing a larger roll at the end season like other characters can bear the elements of harmony and my elements of disharmony.
oh almost forgot i hear there's going to be a new character in the show
although both ideas are good i would still like to know more about the mane 6
I agree with you so much CC!
This seems like a great idea
