How fast 31 years fly by,by! Thinking of the flood, now thinking of the old house and skiing our tails off 20 minutes from that old home stead! Thanks for wonderful memories!SAFE TRAVELS
I know!! We have been full time RV for almost four years now and it feels like a blink of an eye! You really have to try to appreciate it while it's still happening! That's why we document it,......
Looks like you could have easily parked Myles in 16 or 17. Then, enjoyed fantastic views. But, as we have learned with our 40’ DP, you just never know about a site until you see it in person. And it’s just the better decision to reserve space in a park where you “should” be able to fit according to the available information. Even then we’ve had to drive away from reserved space because in no way could a 40’ foot rig fit. Anyway..... thanks again Sue and Mark for your time and talent as you share your adventures with us. Bill and Mark. Aka JerseyRV
Guys the Castaic park area looks great and can't wait for part II to drop. In 2019 we were a little further north from where y'all are in this video in Buellton, CA at a RV Park called Flying Flags. Its a great place and located just a couple of miles from the "California's Denmark" town of Solvang. We ended up relocating our rig to Vandenberg AFB, but that whole area around Santa Barbara is so beautiful, you can't go wrong wherever you stay. Happy trails!
That must have been one heck of a great loaf of bread! The theme from "Wide World of Sports" should have been playing during the sidewalk slolam! Great fun! Thanks for taking us to such a beautiful place! Brendan & Lena Frozen Sneakers, Pa.
Glad you think so Eileen! Some folks don't realize they really need a large 5th wheel or Class A for their particular NEEDS,........but think they can travel as if they have a small Airstream. With some time and research, I think folks can make the right decisions.
Thank you very much! We don't really like the place we relocated to. We just use it as a convenient parking spot for two or three days every time we need to leave VTV. After at least 48 hours, we can come back to Valencia Travel Village.
Hi guys, after watching a handful of your videos I'm officially subscribing! My wife and I are weekend wonderers and we love it. We're close to retirement, however we probably won't make that jump to becoming full timers. We're more likely to spend a month or two away from the homestead. Anyway we're enjoying your informative videos.
You both are so fun. I enjoy your videos, plus all the good information you share. So glad we subscribe to your channel. Life is to short not to enjoy it. 😂
Hi Mark and Sue....it has been awhile since I have been on your channel. Back then, we were motorhome hunting.....and now we have an order on a 26ft 4seasons Outdoors RV travel trailer. I feel like I've cheated on you two hehehehe. However, this is another awesome video! Thank you for sharing your experiences on this long haul reposition day! I agree....that looks like a great place to camp!! I fly my boss to Orange County and Palm Springs; I'll have to come up there to do a reconnaissance for the day. I also have a distant cousin over at Lake Arrowhead; so I need to get up there regardless. Have an awesome rest of your week and safe travels!!
@@OurJourneyInMyles , I was so inspired that we visited yhe place yesterday! it was so relaxing, a good place to meditate! thanks again! pls do more videos around Southern California!!!
What a nice bike ride to this place with a few. It’s beautiful and has great view of the lake. It’s weird that you would have to park Parallel when you camp there. But you get a great view. I think. Thank you for the video. Can’t wait until part 2 comes out. See you both soon! Stay safe.
@@OurJourneyInMyles Oh ok good. You’ll be able to tell what it’s like then to park like that. And camp. It might workout. You’ll never know until you try it.
You can find places that are LITERALLY on the same road you are traveling,...........OR miles away. You have over 1400 places spread throughout the US, so you can ONLY select the ones that are close to your main route. THAT IS WHAT WE DO. The Episode #146 where we got "lost" on a side road was our fault. The main road outside the gate would have been fine. Harvest Host is going to be one of our main things to use this year!
It isn't always the size of the RV but the size of the crowd that dictates where you can get in. I was in the Texas hill country around Lake Buchanan Marble Falls and Fredericksburg Last week and a half over spring break. We had a place in a campground with my little camper but maney places and State parks didn't care if you wanted to walk in they were full. I went and looked it up we have stayed at Castaic Lake RV Park before. I think that was the time we went to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.
@@OurJourneyInMyles Yes we have ben to all of the Presidential Libraries except for 2. Do you have the little passport book for the Libraries? You get a special presentation when you finish all of them.
Another great episode we used to water ski on Castic all the time thanks for the tour I’m gonna see if my 39 footer fifth wheel could fit there it’s about 25 minutes from my house looks like you guys are enjoying Southern California safe travels 🤙🏼✌🏼
El Capitan State Park, north of Santa Barbara, has an area at the very north end next to group area that will fit your rig. You would love a visit there.
I looked at the satellite,.....it looks good. I think we would fit also,.......but the website says 42 foot max. We will be starting our summer planning soon!
Don't know if you are heading North or South from there, BUT the County of San Bernardino operates some great regional parks. Most of which I highly recommend, especially the ones at Yucaipa, Calico Ghost town and Moabi at the Colorado River.
Cautious Chanman, at 22:00 mark, it appeared that Sue may have "risked" standing on a table top. Did she have a fall protection plan, 3-point body harness, ect? Be careful! Next you guys will be running with scissors....eek! Love your videos, how about an out take video for some extra laughs?
Gret video guys! I'm surprised you didn't take the e-bikes up to the dam if it was only less than 2 miles away! The cars are supposed to share the road with bikes. . .
Beautiful lake and campground, I think I would rather stay at the lake than your first location. Also, looks like you are getting your money's worth on the electric bikes.
Congrats on Hitting 30K subscribers!!! 40K Will be before your know it! Love your bike rides. It is sad my e-bikes came in before my Rig, under 10 day fingers crossed off line date 3-31. Have a great week!
Hi Mark and Sue! thanks for the nice video , very interested . i’m driving a big rig ,and I saw so many RVs on the road right now , I wonder what’s going on why so many RVs on the move? Are you planning stay in the California for a whole year or you going to be move East?
I think the "normal" travel season is just starting. And now many folks are vaccinated. The general thinking is traveling by RV is the safest way to tour and vacation. What till June/July/August!
Mark, I bet you would pass the credit check but the character and morals clauses might be a challenge. Keep changing your hats and they might not recognize you when you return. BTW, with all the sidewalk hazards, I might have taken my chances on the road. Another enjoyable video.
What is really funny is how my credit score has fallen over the years. Because we have no loans, and no payments, no debt and pay all the CC off every month, we have no recent credit history for the bureaus to study anymore!
Great video as always. Hello from Green Bay! What kind of Bikes do you guys have? We just retired and are buying our first rig and nice bikes would be a plus. Maybe a possible link? Thank you
We bought our Elux Brand, Malibu GT E-bikes from Crazy Lenny's E-bikes in Madison WI. Some of the folding bikes have really gotten nice. They are really compact to haul! Check how you will be transporting them. An ebike outside on a rack all the time will really get weathered. The covers on them will beat the paint off as well. Hope you can store them inside somewhere like we do.
NO,...they don't really know what you are driving half of the time. I would say the REVERSE happens. THE PARK will tell you a 40 footer will fit,.....you show up with a 41 footer,...but in reality only a 36 footer would REALLY fit! I always try to get a site that is 45 feet or greater for our 44 footer.
That’s how I get exercise, walking around wondering why I am walking around! Your vids are always a treat.
Awesome! Thank you! I guess "steps on the fitbit are steps",......no matter where you are going!
@@OurJourneyInMyles toured Kennedy Space Center. If you haven’t been there, it’s an engineers dream.
Got to love those short travel days. Wow! Beautiful place for a bike ride and to camp!
It really is! We will move to the Lake Campground next! Gulp! The trip will be 1.2 miles LONGER! Hope the air brakes hold up on the cliff!
Yes, Sue, with few exceptions which can be counted on one hand, you are always outside first.😂
