Thank you very much HALIDONMUSIC I love you and Honestly you are the best. I’m listening to your music in the car, and when I’m meditating. You are my best friend 🙏🌸
To anybody who's reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind. May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life. 🙏
thank you so incredibly much God bless you (Or whom ever you believe in) You're an amazing and beautiful person and I hope and pray that you only attract love light and positivity. God Bless you Amen.
Thank you for including so many of my recordings and compositions in this playlist, Halidon! Love the picture of the Charles Bridge in Prague, btw - complements the atmosphere perfectly :)
Congrats Luke ! 😊 (and I was going to say the same thing in a comment: the photo perfectly completes the atmosphere of this playlist 👌 I really love les Gnossiennes de Satie, with the atmosphere mysterious and a bit oppressive, for example.)
In one way or another, something magical happens when you listen classical music. You disconnect yourself from reality, living in the moment of an illusion that feels like eternity. And in that void you realize that, nothing lasts. Love, passion, pain, grief, regret, anger. You become present. This realisation is naturally so honest and pure that brings you clarity. I still manage to explain this bizarre state of a frozen mind processing so many emotions in such peace. I am grateful for this fresh experience.
Your message is so good and true. I feel relieved after 5 months of mourning of loosing my only son. My grief still with me like a shadow after me everywhere. Music makes me calm and accept about my only son passed away. I have to move on.
Haha we're flattered to be included and glad to have contributed to your interest in classical music, thank you! What did you think of our second "Dark Academia" mix for studying? 👉 ruclips.net/video/NxHLSbHOkdc/видео.html
@neggit I'm afraid many music teachers lose their passion, because classical music becomes their job. So they focus on drilling techniques into kids' heads instead of imparting the passion they once had.
@@elizabeth-nl4nb The verb "get" can be used to denote influence. You can get someone to do something. Halidon music can get neggit to enjoy classical music more than he did before. In fact they are doing exactly, getting neggit into classical music.
*Dark academia tracks possess an otherworldly charm, beckoning listeners to explore the enigmatic realms of mystery, romance, and intellectual curiosity*
I studied for a year with this playlist but I've never asked 'where' about the photo. Couple of weeks ago I visited Prague and now I realize this is the amazing Charles Bridge! What is the possibility of this :) -Funny story of mine so I wanted to share.
We're happy our mix brings you some comfort! Have you given our "Dark Academia for studying" playlist a listen too? You can find it here if you haven't 👉 ruclips.net/video/NxHLSbHOkdc/видео.html. Best of luck with your studies, you can do it! 💪
I am alone.. 9:30pm, laying on my sofa, entranced by the music and the image on my tv screen.. My mind is lost in my own imaginings.. thoughts of people I’ve known, loved & lost..experiences that were all just moments in time..now forever gone, but for my memory..
I am in love with gray clouds, rainy days, and foggy skies. There is a ethereal beauty that comes with the sights, sounds, and physical sensations that come with such a setting. The cold breeze gently wrapping around you, comforting but in a somber way. When you breathe, there is a subtle cool moist that feels as if it fills the path through your nose and wind pipe. The harshness of the droplets of rain as they come crashing into puddles of water, layered over stone or cement as they’ve travelled through hundreds of meters from the sky… It gives a feeling of sharp fragility to the plummeting water, a symphony of notes you could attribute to the harsh percussion of a piano key. I am a person who only sees rain during the monsoon season, as where I live, the normal sights include coarse sand, saguaro cacti, and heat reflections that only exist in the distance. Which is to say, I live in a desert, albeit an urbanized one. It is always such a sight to see big clouds in the distance, whether they are light and fluffy like poodle dog fur, or a blanket of ethereal gray. I wish I could experience rainy skies forever.
My eyes are literally watering. I do not know how to express it at the moment. I'm not getting enough sleep because of depression and anxiety, listening to it is such a great relief. Sad how we're missing on such simple and beautiful things available in nature.
Why there is such dark name for heartwarming music and one of the most romantic scenes of Prague? It’s not fair. All these compositions fill your heart with sweet aching, taking you far away from dark thoughts.
The emotions of nostalgia this music brings out are only strengthened by the fact that the background picture is from a bridge in Prague, one of my favorite cities to visit, simply beautiful.
was wondering where the bridge is from - thanks! It reminds me strongly of Oxford and my time there - just the image of it has triggered a mix of happiness and sadness. Remembering having the time of my life with the friends I made there and all the discovery/learning, but also knowing that the door is now closed behind me and I can never go back to that chapter in my life.
As a harpsichordist, I can't be but moved and yet a bit smiling when I hear these Baroque pieces played with such a Romantic touch. People who don't pay attention or just are unaware of it haven't realised how deeply "Romantic" Baroque composers could be in the expression of their sensibility. If you are keen on Romanticism but are eager to discover the Baroque time, I highly recommend you to listen to Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's works which are an invitation to the universe of Pre-Romanticism spirit at the time of Late Baroque (probably the most talented Pre-Romantic composer of his time in my humble opinion). Be also aware of the infinite "intimate répertoire" made for solo or a few instruments which is very similar to the Romantic composers' conception of music. I'm not a specialist but I'm sure one could find the same musical ideas even earlier back to Rinascimento or Middle Ages. All that to say that sensitiveness and the depth of emotions through music are basically timeless and that we, folks from 2021, are so lucky to have the possibility to experience them all despite the enigmas about their genuine interpretation which probably distort their original nature. It's indeed a paradise lost but I'm the happiest seeker of lost paradises.
@pythonrice Wise words. It just highlights the fact that human beings suffer no "category" nor any reductive definition of themselves through Art. I am always disappointed when this topic is broached because I used to quote a very illustrative example from my personal experience, of a poem written by an old Norse skald whose his name escapes me. When I read it for the first time, I hadn't been told about its time, I spontaneously concluded that it was a beautiful text written by some very good Romantic poet because it was so passionate, melancholic, gathering all the characteristics of a Romantic expression. I was so astonished when I discovered that it had been written before the 10th century whereas I would have imagined a date around1820-1830. All that to say that indeed, anyone has the faculty to feel, express and share through an artistic mediation aside from his time. I hope my English was understandable for that it is not my mother tongue.
@@nimsay1903 Thank you very much for your kind words. I am even more pleased by the fact you felt through them some sincerity and openness, I intended nothing else than that. Sincere regards.
Being a certified Auld Phart, I had never come across the term Dark Academia. I now realize what I have been for 63 years. Thanks for clearing that up.
In your defense it's pretty recent, Mark. It's a subculture born on social media and it's characterised by a dark/gloomy aesthetic, the appreciation of poetry and the classics of literature, the arts and ancient Greek and Gothic architecture. We're happy you enjoy the collection! We recently released another one, if you'd like to check it out 👉 ruclips.net/video/NxHLSbHOkdc/видео.html
Chopin's OP. 28 no.4 is by far the darkest in my opinion. I think we are extremely lucky o be able to hear this anytime we want, back in the 1800's people would listen to this once or twice in their lifetime!!
What a great perspective you brought us on your comment Khaled. A like to hear this on my wrost anxiety moments to calm me down, then I repeat it once again. The image in my mind to listening this just once or twice in a lifetime is as sad as death.
As the clouds cover the sun and sky.. the luminance decreases and rain starts to fall.. so the streets start to open and nobody in sight. I feel bliss, I feel alive.
This is my favorite playlist so far! It takes me to another place and time and I love it! I listen while reading, studying, and sleeping. Thank you for such a brilliant playlist, as always! Love you guys! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for your support, Christie! 🙏 We'd been wanting to create a classical dark academia compilation for a long time and seeing it do so well makes us incredibly happy 💙🎵 Would you like us to make more in the future?

Ohmygod, HALIDON posted a video entitled "Dark Academia"? Damn, they're speaking the language of the younger generations 💖 Hope classical music reaches more people!
Been wanting to try our hand at Dark Academia for a while, actually! We had so much fun creating this, we compiled a second one for studying. Watch this space for dark royalty core too! And don't forget to tag us in your reels/tiktoks/stories and posts on social media, if using our music. We'd love to see them! 🤗
I’m obsessed with this one, I keep coming back to this vid! I added my faves from this playlist to my Tidal playlist, but the flow and sound of this video playlist makes my heart sink and I feel like I can barely breathe.
A lot of work goes into every single one of our playlists, but we're not going to lie, this one is pretty close to our heart too. Thank you for the love! Don't forget to tag us on social media, if using some of our music in your stories/reels/tiktoks. We'd love to see them, and help these artists reach more people! ❤
I wasn't entirely sure what this was from the title but as soon as I heard it I was glued to my seat and the volume went up, bravo on this marvelous piece.
Certainly, when you do not wander near one of railway stations, or Hlávkův most, then you might mistaken it for public toilets with plumbing problems. (I've been there yesterday and smell of urine was omnipresent)
I have a major exam tomorrow that could change my life, and I have been in stress for a week now, but today, I'm just thinking of calming myself a little bit, even if I mess it up tomorrow, its gonna be okay, the world won't cease to exist, I can try again. That's what listening to this playlist feels like.
Best of luck for your exam, you've got this! And should you not get the result you're hoping for remember that yes, the world will keep turning and you can try again ❤
How did your exam go? I tell my wife when she is stressed that no matter what happens in life. You are going to be ok. Sounds cliché but if you believe it and feel it than it will become a reality. This life can be so chaotic sometimes but take time to sit back and tell yourself that you are amazing and that things will be just fine. I promise.
Perfect playlist for a rainy high speed train ride through the German countryside last week. It's the little things like perfect music and scenery together that make the best memories!
Thank you Charles! And we couldn't agree more: listening to music while looking out of the train window is one of the best experiences ever, it makes you feel like you're in your own film.
The pain of being a student, awake at 5:00 AM Sunday to study for your exam. The remnant sounds of a party from last night at the flat next door disrupt his train of self-deprecating thoughts. Oh, the agony.
I love the somber, dark forboding, of the slow presenting uplift of the piano keys. To me it gives me a sense of passion that is about to take hold of the young lovers.
Damn, that Satie piece (44 min) is so damn melancholic. If there was ever a piece of music about a person you love but can never have, this would be it. Thank you.
A Boston FM Classical station has a daily "morning exhale", a piece of music designed to relieve stress. You've shared over 2 hours of such music. Much appreciated.
That's such a big compliment for us Bob, thank you so much! It truly means a lot to hear that our compilation has had a soothing effect on you. Have you listened to its twin sisters yet? Simplemente Magnífico !!! Después de leer y escuchar noticias... se necesita tomar uno un respiro... esta humanidad esta empeñada en tirarse al vacío....
Thank you for this. I’m actually a drill producer but when I study this will forever be my go to. I love classical music and when I make the bag from my own music I’m excited to start seeing these beautiful performances live. There’s great love over here for these compositions it’s nice to strip all the synths an automation back and hear where it all started.
Wow, your work and your choice of study music are like two different worlds colliding and that's so cool! Very grateful to have found this relaxing music to work and concentrate to while not experiencing intrusive ads every five minutes. Thank you kindly for this!
Truly austere, beautiful and solemn. I hope to roam the fall streets of Vancouver and eventually the misty streets of Europe, warmly bundled up, whilst listening to this dark and foreboding music.
I have been looking for a compilation of classical music 🎶 like this one.. All of my favorite pieces in one place. Thank you so much. It brings me peace and calm in my soul.😊🙏🏾💕
As he walked down the foggy bridge in the early evening, he could hear the tapping of horses' hooves as they carried their carriages to their directed destination. A cold wind blew, and misty rain peppered the man's face as he made his way home. Slightly shivering, he drew his overcoat closer to his body. The hustle and bustle of the Czech city streets was slowly fading into a distant, echoed emptiness. It was just as he liked it. He could easily organize the tempest of thoughts raging in his mind. No distractions, nothing vying for his attention. It was just him within the emptying world. As the mist turned into droplets and the falling rain pierced his coat, the man quickened his pace. Each step he took became a rhythm, a dance of harmony with the spatter of precipitation. With each stride the sounds lulled him further inward, and soon, all that could be sensed was the pounding of his shoes across the bricked pavement. He didn't mind the cold, nor did he the windy rain; these external elements besieging his body couldn't truly bother him. Not with what he was facing. [If you come across this comment, please continue the story, writing whatever the music brings to mind. I decided the location being Czech as the bridge in the photo is in Prague, Czech Republic. Happy writing!]
How could it be that after all of this time his past was finally catching up with him. He had spent so much time on his knees in the Cathedral - the smell of incense, the flickering of the candles in dark red glass, the stone walls and dark wood pews were his only comfort.
Finally, he reached his residence, a small but quaint little domicile tucked away from the main streets and cacophony of the everyday bustle. His sanctuary, in the seemingly upside and crooked world. His thoughts retreating as he entered the foyer, the sound of now hard pouring rain faded into the background like an unwanted visitor kept outside. The smell of old leather and seasoned wood filled his nose, water still dripping from an old and weary face, onto ancient rugs that have lived a thousand lives. He undressed and slowly walked to the kitchen, his feet locked in a dance of creaks and sounds with the underlying wood floors. How many years as he walked this same route, putting the kettle on and retiring to sit in his study, where he knew the swirling thoughts would come again, some to inspire him, others to torture him, even if but for a short sequence of healthy self-doubt and depression. He knew what was ahead, long hours of trying to get his racing mind down on paper, to organize the madness into some kind of sense and if he was lucky, artistic expression. Some nights went well, others not. The dim lights glowed as if to invite him back into the recesses of his mind, a place that, while not always a pleasant place to be, it was one that he was familiar with, a place he could find some brief solace and respite. Alas, the man opened his eyes abruptly, already sitting in his chair, the half-drunken tea next to him, cold and lifeless. The rain had intensified, and the lights were starting to flicker. How long had he been away? What had he accomplished during his dreamwalk? Perhaps, he wasn't waking up, perhaps he was just starting to embark on yet another adventure within the dimly lit corridors of his psyche...
He took the final sip of tea, eyes closed. The scents and tastes teased their way through his sinuses and across his taste buds. He set the cup down softly, frail hands trembling to do so. He stood, joints cracking and popping, and began the meticulous cleaning process to prepare his cup and kettle for tomorrow's batch. This was his life now. The same walk each day, the same tea to settle him for each night. He lay down to rest as the thunder rumbled outside, knowing full well he'd get none. The daydreams were filled with nonsense. But at night, they came from a darker place inside. The place that knew exactly what he'd done. The place he couldn't refuse, as his sleeping mind was powerless to fight it. So he stayed awake another night. And by the morning, he was ready to fetch the tea leaves they'd been growing in the community garden together. It was always a mystery, how the leaves stayed alive all these years. He hadn't the capacity to care for them, nor anything really. And yet they were always there. So he always showed up. Some days, his mind would wander too far, and expect her to be there. Those days were the hardest to get through.
I’m stirring my black cherry tea whilst I read A Tale Of Two Cities and listen to this playlist. I think this is the most Dark Academia I’ve felt in a while.
I know every one of these by heart to listen to only. My mom played all these over and over and over when I was a kid trying to go to sleep. Decades later and I still remember them. Would know if a single note was wrong because ma cursed at every mistake.
You make a good point, Chris. The concept of 'Dark academia' takes inspiration from Gothic elements but is more focused on the study of Latin and Greek literature, poetry and the classics in general, which is why the visuals often feature dimly-lit desks covered in dusty old books or ancient libraries. It's about the fascination and mystery of classic academia the way it was taught in the 19th century, basically. If you're looking for classical music with dark and creepy undertones we recommend this mix instead! 👉 ruclips.net/video/I0GTk19Xjsc/видео.html

Such an excellent compilation of pieces, both well-known works and under-appreciated gems. I especially thank you all at Halidon for introducing Lyadov's music to me - gorgeous. And for introducing Baroque music played with such Romantic sensitivity. I wonder if anyone can find the sheet music of the Handel version that Mr. Chaimovich plays, with the extra ornamentation? He may just be improvising his embellishments, but they are stunning!
Hello Karen, thank you for your kind words! We're not sure about the sheet music, we're afraid - probably best to get in touch with Vadim directly. He's both on Facebook and Instagram, and you can also contact him via his website. Hope this helps!

I truly am thankful for your channel it has become a part of my daily routine and a great source of comfort for me in my home I'd also like to thank you for crediting Luke Faulkner as he truly is a very talented musician within his own work, and does due diligence to every song he covers! Lots of love. 🎶
Thank you for such a sweet comment, Fortune! And you're absolutely right about Luke - when we first came across his music, we couldn't believe he wasn't famous already. We're glad we could help him reach a bigger audience, because his music deserves to be heard!
this is honestly the best study playlist I've found so far. I've tried many and for some reason, this is the only one that doesn't distract me, even though the music is amazing and inspiring. I don't know how you did it, but I always come back to this one. Thank you for giving my mind wings to write papers.

@@HALIDONMUSIC also very good, thank you
@neggit I'm afraid many music teachers lose their passion, because classical music becomes their job. So they focus on drilling techniques into kids' heads instead of imparting the passion they once had.
excuse me.I'm not a native english speaker, could you explain why did you write the gerund with "get" in this sentence, please?
@@elizabeth-nl4nb The verb "get" can be used to denote influence. You can get someone to do something. Halidon music can get neggit to enjoy classical music more than he did before. In fact they are doing exactly, getting neggit into classical music.
It’s currently dark and raining. I’m sitting on my porch listening to this, sipping on Earl Grey tea, and writing my book. The perfect vibe.

I am alone.. 9:30pm, laying on my sofa, entranced by the music and the image on my tv screen.. My mind is lost in my own imaginings.. thoughts of people I’ve known, loved & lost..experiences that were all just moments in time..now forever gone, but for my memory..
What are you laying on your sofa... eggs?
No forever believe me ...
This is so true! the depth of the music is amazing!

Why there is such dark name for heartwarming music and one of the most romantic scenes of Prague?
It’s not fair. All these compositions fill your heart with sweet aching, taking you far away from dark thoughts.
OMG these are some of my favourite pieces of music all in one place, they fill my heart with such powerful feelings!
cringe lord.
Perhaps it is our hearts and minds that was meant as dark, that's why the music fills our hearts taking us away from it.
Thank you for the recommendation! :)
The way you write>>
Love the way you express yourself, sincerity and openness

Please, continue? 🥺
It's amazing to see how many talented storytellers there are among our listeners! Feel free to continue, we're hooked now 😍

Most of these songs are a lot more melancholic than they are dark. I would never imagine these playing during a creepy or suspenseful moment.
That's great Nikki, we're so happy our compilation helps set the right mood! What did you think of our recent "Classical Music for Writing" mix? 👉 ruclips.net/video/lMmLHchT4Ho/видео.html
This is one of the best compilations I've heard.
Thank you so much halidon for answering my request it's meant alot to me dark academia music makes me forget the madness of our present world
Thank _you_ for inspiring us, Assia! We're definitely going to make more Dark Academia playlists, seeing as this one was so well received 🥰 we had lots of fun putting it together too!
I opened it as a background while studying, but I remembered my childhood, my neighborhood, and old friends I don't see now.
Satie’s Gnossiennes No.1 is massively underrated 💜.

Writing a tome on the design and procedures for a new product line on a Saturday evening. This music makes the work fly and almost bearable in it's detail requirements.

In this vain world full of meaningless sounds and words this is a collection of masterpieces which will remain for ever.
Probably the best classical music playlist that I've ever heard
We don't know what to say Donou, that's incredibly kind. Thank you so much! What did you think of this mix's Dark Academia twin sister? You can find it here if you're curious 🔮👉 ruclips.net/video/NxHLSbHOkdc/видео.html
Damnnnn, I was recently searching for some dark classical music, and you throwed it right on my face, arigatou 😀
Hehe, it was about time we uploaded our own classical take on the dark academia vibe 🔮✨
Thank God, this one has actual classical music 😌
We're a music publisher and distributor specialising in classical music, so you know you can count on us when you're in the mood for it 😉
This is absolutely nostalgic for me and beautifully put together. Thank you Halidon for all these absolutely wonderful compilations for us to enjoy, no matter the mood.
Your comment makes us so happy Jenny, thank you! We know how difficult it is to find a study playlist that doesn't disrupt your focus, and it's great to know that ours works well for you. We also have another Dark Academia one specifically for studying in case you haven't checked it out yet 👉 ruclips.net/video/NxHLSbHOkdc/видео.html
You've captured totally the melancholy spirit of the tortured artist. Bravo!
Thank you very much Adam! It was our first attempt at the gloomy, contemplative vibe of dark academia and we're glad you enjoyed it 🥰 By the way, we just uploaded a new one, you can find it here 👉 ruclips.net/video/NxHLSbHOkdc/видео.html
So love this artist's music, so very calming in the current times that prevail in society. For me it is my retreat from the world of hustle. Beautiful!
@caroleannekerr yes this is good.

@@HALIDONMUSIC Thank you so much!!!
I love these playlists! I tell all my students to use these to explore classical music.
I am especially happy to see Barrios included in this playlist. I just wish the music was performed on the guitar like it was originally written for. Sounds nice on the piano but we need more classical guitar exposure!
currently sitting in my dorm listening to this with a fresh cup of coffee, while working on my term paper. thank you for the playlist
We're glad our collection keeps you company while you work Jack, thank you for listening 😊 If you enjoy this kind of music may we also recommend you our "Dark Academia for Studying" and "Dark Royalty Core" playlists? You can find them here:
