Let me know what you think of this style of video! I hardly ever share footage of me at gigs, so I'd be interested to see if you want to see more 'gig challenges' in the future. And while you're here, if you want to support me while doing something you might already do as a magician, please consider using my affiliate link whenever you shop at Ellusionist: ellusionist.com/cavanbooth
@@archiecoxmagic Depends on the gig! The smaller the gig, the more tricks (you need more material to show fewer people as they will see you more often). Likewise, the bigger the gig, the less you need to perform as you can repeat more stuff! I don't really work in number of tricks, but rather sets of routines. Super difficult to answer in a comment, might make a video to really get specific!
I saw so many magicians doing linking rings, spongeballs etc as a teenager and said they're overdone. But for the next 10 years all I heard was "I love that trick with the rings, do you do that? Now I rarely hear or see them so no one knows about them....
Put a rubber band round the deck for the win. Not only does the card rise to the top, it penetrates the rubber. Drop it into their cupped hands for the real kicker, because then they're left with everything....and there's nothing to find. 🧐 Culling from a face-up spread also works. You're just showing them that their signed card is still in the middle, but that's the control. I too have a love/hate relationship with ACR, but laypeople love it so why fix something that ain't broken? 🤷♂️
I don't think the routine you came up with is ambitious card. I think this is a teleporting routine, for it to be ambitious card the card has to keep coming to the top of the deck each time.
Lately I have been very interested in magic, although for my "Spanish" language there is not so much content, forcing me to consume content in English, where I have advanced, but I feel stuck, I try to look for tricks such as guessing the letter that a person is thinking about or the wallet, I would like to know if to take that step to magic, I must already pay, if so, take that step or wait (your channel helped me improve many of my tricks)
Instead of learning "tricks".. learn moves and simple sleights.. you can find many free tutorials..fake shuffles, fake cuts, card controls.. simple color changes.. I HIGHLY recommend Sean Devines channel.. it's a literal gold mine of knowledge
Well, the audience gets stirred up by your presentation, if you hate what you're doing, the audience will eventually hate it too 😔 But yes, if it pays the bills I'm all for it aswell

I'm learning Craig Petty's Magic Button as a signed card routine.
Great video as always Cavan.
How many tricks do you think you need for a gig?
😀 🪄

Love the footage of you at the gigs, would love to see more of that.

It will be!
I would love to see you do some street magic!!
I agree

And learning these simple things.. you can make up your own routine.
@@MyTardisGoWhoosh In the same way I feel a little stagnant.

THANK YOU 🫶🏻

Where did your last video go???? Free country....freedom of speech.
I had to take the video down. Didn't really have a choice, I'm afraid
It is what it is. U still rock it brotato chip.
Not to say I told you so, but...😊
I guess things get to cliché status because of people's reaction etc. Just a thought.
A very interesting and correct thought, I imagine
Why aren't you wearing a tie... you would look smooth as F.
Haha, I wear ties at formal events, but these were more casual (charity fundraisers, birthdays, etc)
@@CavanBooth1 I don't give a damn.. wear that gucci tie you fool🤣🤣
Hey if it gets you paid why should you care if you hate it or not? That’s just my opinion.
