hi I am learning Korean but I am confused with one thing. I can't get which verbs have honorific and which don't.. for example meogda (to eat) has an honorific verb term but for the verb gongbuhada (to study) we still use it. Is there a book that tells which verbs have an honorific term? Or is it only the action verbs I don't know I'm confused since I'm learning by myself T----T
Hello~ For the honorific verbs, it's better to memorize them, like irregular verbs in English (get, got, gotten.) Here are some frequently used honorific verbs: right sides is the honorifics 자다 (to sleep) - 주무시다 말하다 (to speak) - 말씀하시다 먹다 (to eat) - 잡수시다 / 드시다 마시다 (to drink) - 드시다 있다 (to exist) - 계시다 있다 (to have) - 있으시다 주다 (to give) - 드리다 죽다 (to die) - 돌아가시다 데려가다 (to take) - 모셔가다 묻다 (to ask) - 여쭙다 만나다 (to meet) - 뵙다 아프다 (to be sick) - 편찮으시다 (This one is an adjective.) And this is an online Korean-English dictionary. krdict.korean.go.kr/eng/mainAction?nation=eng When you search a word, if there is an honorific form, it shows the honorific word. Hi, To make honorific, Korean words '먹다 eat , 자다 sleep, 죽다 die' must be changed to alternative honorific words ' 드+ 세요 eat , 주무+세요 sleep , 돌아 turn+가 go +셨다 = (passed away). * 들다(take off ) + 세요 = 드세요 = (spoon) 을 드세요 eat.

마시다는 어떻게 만듭니까?
마시다 + 세요 → 마시세요. 라고 이야기할 수 있습니다. 다만, 실제로는 '먹다'의 높임말로 '드세요'로 많이 씁니다.
'먹다', '자다', '죽다' 는 존대어로 바로 사용하면 그 존대 의미가 없어지는 동사에서 ' 먹다' 가 인용이 잘 되었네요.
