Several years ago, maybe 2019, we visited this marvelous track with our 1.5 scale equipment. We had a marvelous time and thoroughly enjoyed meeting a number of the modelers there. Back in the mid 1960s I built a 1-inch scale 4-6-2 that I was intending to model the Soo Line even way back then. I sold that equipment to a fellow in southern Minnesota and eventually he sold the locomotive to some folks at St. Croix and while we were visiting, one of the modelers told me that they had that engine in their roundhouse and they thought it might be rebuilt eventually. I would have loved to have seen that engine in your video. Great job on this.
Really is a spectacular place to run & ride - there’s so much to look at, and the membership does a fantastic job maintaining their facilities. Thanks for checking out the video as always!! 😁
Awesome video of fantastic locos and track. Looks like all the attendees had smiles on dials for the whole meet. Loved the night shots. Well done, great job. Cheers
Really appreciate the kind words Greg, it was so great seeing you and your pristine Docksider as well!! Thanks also for all your work reviving the SCRR Highline, heard a bit of the story, it’s truly such a wonderful track to run and I’m so glad it’s still there for us all to enjoy!
I had an interesting thought, has anyone ever converted a coal fired 7.5 inch gauge steam locomotive to propane firing?? Asking cuz I live in Texas and coal burning here is kind of a no no cuzof how hot and dry it is. Also,I've heard it burns cleaner than oil and it's much more readily accessible.
@@FoxIslandRailroadCo so then there is a way for me to buy a pre-existing coal burning locomotive and convert it to propane?? Is it an easy conversion??
Fantastic!...especially the night runs.

Great video. Wish I could have been up there for the meet.
Thanks so much! I’m sure we’ll end up there at the same time one of these seasons, look forward to seeing that beautiful loco of yours run too!
Who built the Union Pacific Gas Turbine #51
I’m not sure! This was only my second time to SCRR, I believe it was built by a long-time member out there

Yes, propane is a common firing method on live steam locomotives.
