0:49 stating the facts: Lane 1 is for any exit before 12 clock. lane 2 is for any exit after 12 clock. The Highway Code website has a lovely picture of this: www.highwaycodeuk.co.uk/roundabouts.html This is if there is no road markings. According to the highway code the Royal mail did it right
K9 Dash Cams, I can't argue with that. But I will try. We enter and exit the roundabout on the A57. Exits 1 and 2 are B roads. Meaning exit 3 is thoroughfare. Accordingly, exit 3 is at 1 o'clock from entry point. But could be argued as straight on. My argument is to how you exit a roundabout. If the car (on our exit 2) was to enter, and exit his lane 1, the truck would wipe them out. If he was to move over earlier to show his intentions, either at or just after our exit 2, there would be no problem. The problem is that they change lanes as they are exiting. Not before or after. I hope you see my point of view on this issue.
I understand your point:) If you don't know the roundabout (Like me) i would use lane 2 as there are no road markings, however i would check before cutting across to check if someone is behind on the left:)
I've never seen any text to support this, however if you notice the 3rd exit line is thicker than the other lines, making the 3rd exit "Straight on". But as said, I've never seen anything to support this line of thinking Top/North of Dronfield Bypass has this sign, which I've often seen people thrown by (Including a learner driver with licensed instructor), where they assume they can take the 2nd exit (Dronfield itself) from the 2nd lane. when actually, both lanes go onto the Bypass www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.3185051,-1.4740913,3a,24.6y,192.14h,90.33t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s12gmLiyoJuuPtqaOQRejvw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
6:30 I've worked at the train station in the past. NO ONE has priority at that junction, but taxi's take it without blinking 7:12 technically he has priority with the road layout, but he had no time to make judgement, especially with the sharp turn on his right. Probably a better choice to let him go first anyway, driving a crappy Micra 16:23 Yeh, the checked area is a barrier against oncoming traffic, it is NOT an overtaking zone. If you overtake, you still have to have it clear of oncoming traffic.....
nekuth, 6:30 I've worked there too. It was only an observation to get people talking, and it worked. If there was a mini roundabout, then sure, he has right of way. But to not indicate, one would assume that he was going straight on like the first one. 7:12, I was at the junction first. He didn't even stop.
Speaking as a taxi driver (but nowhere near Sheffield!), I occasionally come across junctions and situations where there is no clear order of priority. In such, I will be inclined to make my move first; simply because taking the initiative can clear the blockage of doubt. At that junction in the clip, there seems to be plenty of scope for doubt as to who gets priority over whom; so the taxi driver ( probably used to it!) settles the doubt in his favour. Where this leads to a problem, is when the taxi drivers become so accustomed to it, that they assume a priority that isn't necessarily theirs - which, according to another comment is what has happened here.
I do get your logic, we've all come across a mini-roundabout where all the entrances have someone, and everyones goes "whose going next?" That area of Sheffield is a taxi black spot (as you'd expect being a train station), and they do have the feeling they are the law there. Below is the link of my video from 2 years ago. The black cab runs through the giveway, despite me (a non-taxi) only being able to turn right. ruclips.net/video/t6oH2nd0oD4/видео.html
nekuth, yep - shouldn't happen, but it does. This, of course, is my point: the taxi drivers are assuming a priority that they do not actually have. I don't know if you have the same phenomenon there, but round my way most of the Hackney Carriage drivers (and a fair few Private Hire) are all inter related, and so disagreeing with one puts you at odds with all - especially if you are not of the same racial/religious grouping...
It really is true what they say (good drivers that is, or even okay drivers) about BMW and Audi drivers! I do pretty much the same route, Sheffield to Worksop plus a shed load of other routes whilst working.... The people (mostly) of this day and age are totally narcissistic. Please bring back the police!
0:49 You turned right from the left lane. You're lucky no one was on your right side going straight. Royal mail did it right. 4:03 Your right, he should practice his hobby on a better road. 7:10 Micra has priority as he is going straight. 9:00 You should have stopped and told the bus driver that he'd better breakdown somewhere more convenient next time. 10:32 Tailgating. P plates = give plenty of room.
Flat Mars Society, so what you're telling me at 0:49 is that 'if you enter a roundabout in lane 2 and continue round in lane 2. It's ok to exit the roundabout in lane 1. Regardless of what's on your left.'?
0:49 What the royal mail van did was to the highway code. Highway code rule 185-186. You shouldn't have been in that lane or turning right from the left hand lane.
Bad Driving Sheffield I see forced her way in did she as usual, and then does that wow that's some people for you. Not worth entertaining people like that just save the clip and move on with your day like you did. Anyway good video thoroughly enjoyed it.

nekuth: Your example junction has lane markings further up from the sign.
I was more focusing on the signage, more than the road markings, but it does support the "the thicker white line is straight on" theory
The roundabout @0:46 has now been fixed. It has new lane markings and a traffic light system.

Bad Driving Sheffield 7:12 To be fair you did get there first, and another day sensible driver would have let you go.

Why did that Aygo flip you off for when you let them in? 🤔
Jack G, I put my hands up in dismay. I didn't really want to let her in either!

You forget that Aygo means "Aygo first, and don't you damn well forget it!!"
4:28 Taxi drivers in Sheffield probably don't have a licence or a shred of English nevermind Road knowledge.
I think someone else need to re-test they licence ???
Whom?
