  • Two EMD beasts are awoken and taken to their freight train for the first job of the day. Engineers startup one after the other, let the engines warm up a little and then maneuver them to the train which is waiting at the station.
Very nice for EMD sound lovers. Video recorded in Ogulin, Croatia. These two units are owned by Croatian cargo operator HŽ Cargo, their numbers are 2062 114 and 2062 105 respectively.
If you want to see these two in action, go to this followup video: • 2x 2062 1xx (EMD G26C)...

I just realized something about this video ... watch the reflection on the window of the left-hand side locomotive at 2:08
Notice anything? The torque from revving the engine literally makes the whole loco rock side to side!!! XD

      Good lord!
Yikes ... I was thinking it would be expensive, but I wasn't expecting a price tag of $1699.99!!! (US dollars)

The G26C are powered with the 16-645, not with the 16-567

Your guess was almost right! These locos are powered by the 16-645E engine, which is the biggest roots blown type, this latter feature gives it a strong resemblance to the elder sibling!

The major difference between a 567 and a 645 is is the cylinder bore. Those resignation indicate cubic inches. However, the 710's have the same bore as a 645 but possess a longer stroke.
