    A little tech tip for you is to put your isolation valves and associated fittings on the unit before it’s on the wall. Makes life a lot easier!

    Knipex once you are used to how they function, they are the best you can get. I am using a new set currently, have warn out the previous two. The blue handle tools just get me in a poor frame of mind. Your comment of these really bite is what Knipex does no slip. Great install even when the brass changes the team in the middle of the game.

    Interesting house, a 3 car garage with ceramic tile floors and yet they skimp on the utility room by leaving exposed OSB flooring under a 75 gallon water heater and an air handler, not to mention the ghetto wall cut out for the air intake.

    Always hold against yourself when screwing on the service valves. If you don’t you’ll break the pipes on the inside of the tank. Just a tip.

    I'm debating on having a Navien npe-240a2 installed is this a good unit for a 2800 sq ft 2 story house with 3 bathrooms? Does one need to run a condensing drain pipe? How often and expensive should they be serviced? Do these require flushing valves? Also looking at the Bosh Greentherm T 9900 SE 199NG. Which is better and going to last longer? I also live in MI is it a bad idea to run the condensate line into the sump pump? I'm concerned about it running in winter with frozen drain pipes outside.

    My Stieben Eltron electric tankless water heat needs a pre-tank to operate. My Northern Minnesota ground water is 37f and the unit maximum is 125f/. I use an 80 gallon electric water heater as a room air temperance tank, but I use the lowest setting of 80F. Slow water is 80f and wide open is 125f. MY Hansgrohe tempermatic show/tub vavle is set at 105f and it fills a 5x5 corner spa deep tub fairly quick. Without the pretank....it was very slow. For dishes and laundry, my unit have a water heater element to make the required wash water temperatures of up to 180f.

    • @greendryerlint
      @greendryerlint 3 года назад +1

      I understand why it's needed, but seems like it defeats one of the points of having the tankless and now you have 2 points of failure + a tank full of tepid water that is probably just the right temp for things to grow in it.

    Why use a transfer pump? Get the extra large channel locks and spin the gas valve of the heater and drain it from that I guarantee you you will drain the heater in 10 minutes compared to 30 minutes and loud noise of the transfer pump!

    Also when you propress. You need to scratch the pipe with sand cloth and ream out the pipe first before propressing. If you don’t you’ll create turbulence in the pipe which will create pin holes.
