Honestly, I think they should do what will benefit the younger generation as they will be the future loyal customers in the years to come and if they don’t do anything about it they so will run out of business as the elder generation will soon die out

Actually I agree with Mr Mahedrian, if the percentage of customers is still the elderly, then retain the vibe and setting. No need for air con. Not all air-conditioned areas, gives a fresh air also; some of them gets stuffy as well if not maintained. For Founders BKT I do understand his mindset has already given up, so it really takes a higher more understanding approach to deal. That kind of energy when you and your wife is together, setting up that business and how the feeling synergised can't be taken back.

At least they have an air-con room, their only solution for now. I just wish he listen more to the younger customers rather than just the elderly ones, no matter higher percentage they were. Oh well, the current solution is the least the youngsters can do for now.

This video does not tell the whole story about the Indian aircon issue. In S7E02 they make it clear that they do have an aircon room. The aircon room fills up, customers will not wait for an aircon seat, and they leave. The hot room is not popular with younger guests or guests with kids. The customers are speaking - the old man is not listening. 😎

no need for autopay laa,or if u want to implement that, make sure the old school system of cash to hand still exists..Removing interaction with your customer is not always a good thing epecially with the older folks

    mahendran"s thinking is right

Seems that Mr Mahendran is too bossy from the way he speaks. It’s good be strict at work, but on the other side there are his kids who want to bring in new dishes to the menu. He must be open and welcome suggestions from his offsprings and people around.
And those Chinese Guyz are telling what to decide and how to go about it and not to listen to his Children. It’s his wish to whether air condition the restaurant or not.
Yes although I haven’t been to Singapore, it’s falls in Far East Asia and the weather conditions could get worse during summers.
Considering the younger is not going to harm the business. If at all there are concerns for the older people, make separate dining areas and air condition it. People get to choose whether they are in need of AC or not.

13:01 - wrong type carrots being used. More people would visit, if the local restaurants knew these details.

Most of these 1st generation hawkers or the old people are no longer fit to run the business. Their ideas are so outdated and they can't change and adapt that cause them to lose customer. If they don't care about losing customers then good for them but if they do, time for them to retire and stay at home where they belong. Old people who cannot accept change have no place on this earth. After all the young is the generation that is taking over. The old must go to the grave and give way and space to the young.

Ouch! But then again, change and adaption of new ideas is needed.
