Putting yourself first and indulging in self-care like a manicure is great but you can do it without being inconsiderate of the family that you made plans with... If you're disrespectful of the close family that you make plans with and consider that putting yourself first then I hope you're learning how to love yourself and how to be happy all by yourself also in therapy because soon yourself will be all you got because no one wants to be around self centered people for long

Needless to say, I ended the stupid, high maintenance, toxic friendship.
