I’ve looked after kids, and a child hit my face because I wouldn’t let him see his parents while they were in a meeting. I understood his emotions and it took some self control not to raise my voice at him for doing what he did. I was hot as fire because I can take tantrums but hitting me is OFF LIMITS. I separated him from the other kids, looked him in the eye and asked him why he did what he did. He knew he was wrong and said he was sorry. I accepted his apology, but I told him not to ever hit me again and he said yes ma’am. Now I’m no perfect nanny and I’m sure Kourtneys nannies get paid well, but if I’m watching someone else’s kids it’s up to me to establish boundaries for myself. If kids are acting real nasty, I communicate and leave the real disciplinary action to the parents/guardians. Kids act out for different reasons, but that doesn’t mean the caregiver has to tolerate getting beat up.

My issue with this family is they rarely take the time out to empathize with one another. I as an outsider looking in can usually see both sides. They are so quick to go on the defence instead of taking accountability for hurt feelings. Their version of respect for one another is poor in my opinion and fuels their arguments. There are so many points in their disagreements where it could have been de-escalated.
