Wow what an epic experience! So thankful for you guys sharing the stoke 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great morning! I had a day like this last spring! 5 halibut, 1 keeper all within 45 minutes. Got my fix and went home 🏄🏼♂️🎣
Man! This was awesome. Living vicariously thru you today.
Much appreciated bro. I've loved watching you get out there, put your time in, and figure this game out for yourself. Watching guys like you go through that journey and experience success is freaking awesome man! Tight lines!
Right on Kayla & Benjie on those legal Halis.! Let’s Go.!! Fun fish session you guys had there. Can’t wait to hit the beach.. 🤙🏽
Thank you always Mike! Was definitely so much fun!
@@BenjieKimFishing what beach may I ask
Great vid! Keep up the good work!
Love the catch and release. Nice video!
Thanks for the vid! 20-30 years ago I use to catch lots of halibut in the surf with swimbaits. From IB all the way up to Oceanside.
What a great day. Way to go Kayla. I definitely want to target hallys now. Lets see if i get lucky with my craft lol.
Nice stuff Benjie and Kayla!
Thank you so much, Kayla killed it for sure!!
Awesome catches guys. I love those days when the bite is on. Keep on slaying Benjie 🤙Tight lines 🎣

NICE!!! Good job! Lucky they live there!
"I don't wanna die." That was hysterical.
Man, so weird not seeing you with the 903TRL, always positive vibes though, dope footy as always!.. 🤙🏼
Great session! I thought you were a Phenix guy 😮
Killer session Kayla
Hello Benjie,
what beach do u reccommend to target halibut?
What are your thoughts on changing out the treble hook to a single for catch and release
I like th new look with the purp better angle your using phoenix feather lite save for the salmon.
What beaches do you fish at and how do you prevent lures tangling in seaweed?
Where can you find the Rockaway sp?
Nice job guys! Who let yall cook 😂
I'm here in So Cal, whereabouts is this, love the videos, great job, still looking for my 1st legal!
Awesome video Benji, I have been trying at HB for some halibut but no luck should I try south or north of Laguna in your opinion
HB is actually really good for halibut, but just like anywhere else, timing is everything. Figuring out the timing is every fisherman's obsession.
South from Laguna is great all the way into deep SD and so is north. Obviously keeping it in general but I'm definitely not just saying that. Halibut are pretty much on every beach. Start from inlets and jetties and work the surf from there.
Where can I buy the Lucky Craft fish tape?
Around what beach’s do you normally fish?
What size reel are you using
?
What wader are u using?
Four Halibut with two legals! Epic day!!! 💪
What beach is that or where is a good spot to go??
Excellent action.
Let’s go‼️💪🏼
Thanks always bro!
Where can I find this lucky craft? Island Tackle? Save-on Tackle?
Heads up. One time I fished and game warden came to measure my friend’s fish, mouth was left open and the warden stated the mouth has to be closed.
Thank you!
Wait like when it’s dead it’s mouth must be closed or closed when measuring
@@isaacalexandercruz9045 while it’s alive, mouth must be closed when measuring.
A proper measurement is with the mouth fully closed and at the zero. I've actually covered this many, many times in older videos, just didn't do that here. The main concern with this for example, is if one were to harvest a 22" halibut (22" is legal size) and measured the fish with the mouth open at the zero and were to later be checked by DFG, the official measurement would be shorter than if the mouth were fully closed....and would likely receive a citation for harvesting a sub-legal fish.
Tight lines.
Great fishing session Benjie. You’re smacking those halibut’s you got it dialed in 🤙🏽
What beach is this ? Do you have some locations for socal you can share with me i am new to saltwater fishing ? I live near sante fe springs ?
Nice session. Some chunky chunks. I’m headed out tomorrow. Thanks for the lucky craft refresher 👍🏻🦵🏻🦨🗑️🔥💪🏻
Thanks so much and wishing you tight lines. Things seem to be going pretty good right now so I'm sure you'll get em!
@@BenjieKimFishing it was a pleasure to watch. The best way to grow my own channel is to learn from the best.
So much critical Intel passed down to us and all we got to do to get it is stay tuned.
And it’s free, break out the popcorn and tune in yal lol. 😆
Sweet video, and great action 👍🏻
Really appreciate your comment so much. Thank you 🙏
Where is this place?
When are you going to do another vid with Anthony? Keep up the great content Benjie. Tight lines brotha 🤙🏼
We've actually filmed 4 full episodes the past couple months, I just need to get them edited!
Where is that spot looking to getting into surf fishing 🎣
Do you connect leader to main with a swivel or line to line
braid to fluoro with RP knot. Tight lines!
Yeah man!!!👏👏
Thank you!
This lure still swim even during shallow water? I bought one as well the other day. I had tried, the striped bass is only come to look it? WTH?
Are they good eating?? If so, how??
Like your videos a lot. I live in Huntington Beach area, never gone surf fishing. Do you have any suggestions what beach should I go to for surf fishing?
Hey there, thanks for the comment. I don’t know a beach that doesn’t hold fish. HB is great…both state and city. South of the pier all the way to the river jetty’s. Just gotta practice looking for structure. North of the pier all the way to the bolsa chica inlet…same deal, look for structure. Timing is very important…I like a 3 to 4 ft high tide in general but I also know folks who prefer the low. If nothing else, grey light or dusk are generally good times to give it a shot. Hope that helps.
Thanks for reply man. You’re making good videos too, I did learn from it
Hwaiting!!
Oh yeah good stuff
Thank you and much love to you Victor!!
Love it
Thank you!
Nice hali's team!
Its gonna be my first time coming from norcal to pismo beach. I plan to fish it but not familiar with surf fishing much. I thought about tossing my 130 jerkbaits that we use for striper on the sacramento river. I probably will bring my yo zuri monster shot for distance casting too. What fishes would I mostly encounter at pismo. Am assuming I dont need a ocean stamp for the area since am not below santa barbara?
To my knowledge you do need an ocean as well but to be completely honest, I haven't looked it up, so you might be right.
I live like 5 hours south of there....but Pismo is primarily perch...but some of the best perch fishing on the coast. Stripers have gotten a lot more common as well. Halibut on occasion but definitely pretty rare.
130 jerk bait will get bit but I'd say 110's to 115's are probably best suited. Carolina rig or high low rig is the easiest way to get bit.
@@BenjieKimFishing I really dont wanna go bait but what can I use on a carolina rig thats not bait or is that the only way.
2.5" curly tail swimbaits. Lots of guys pouring solid stuff up and down the coast. Check out my buddy www.biglaut.com and his perch puncher grubs in motor oil. Honey Badger Baits makes really good stuff as well.
@@BenjieKimFishing what size weight do u guys use for carolina rig
In the Central Coast (Pismo), you'd prolly want to start with a 1.5 ounce. You can go as low as 1 ounce or as high as 2 or even 2.5 depending on the conditions. But 1.5 seems to be a pretty good sweet spot up there.
Where is this at bro?
The fish that jumped was a freaking mullet for sure just off of how the jump looked
Definitely possible. I've certainly seen my fair share of mullet jumping but based on what I saw...it definitely looked like a YFC. It wasn't the first one we saw jump either though, so I can't discount that it was a mullet.
Bro, great job !!! What beach was that ?? It looks amazing
Thank you so much Albert, really appreciate it. I don't specify beaches publicly but this was in Orange County. Tight lines
No worries, but I really appreciate your continued hustle and content showings us how to fish
Benji, please save some for the rest of us. Tight Lines!
Hey Benji. Can you at atate if this is a SD or Orange county beach area?
Orange County 🤙
@@BenjieKimFishingI appreciate your response. I've been fishing here at SD and haven't caught anything big since summer of 2022. Thinking of traveling up north to central California and work my way down and hopefully snag something to talk about. Stay cool dude!
To be honest, SD is my favorite overall fishery on our coastline. Halibut fishing is off the charts as well. But obviously, it's not as simple as just going out and automatically catching. Fishing is easy rarely...but most of the time it takes dedication and a lot of tough sessions.
But either way, that central coast adventure would be a good one....every locale has its strengths and weaknesses.
What beach is this ?
Nice!👍😎
Thank you always and tight lines!
do you not keep any of these?
What part of so cal do you fish?
Pretty much all of it. I love south OC, sd county, as well as la county. Just depends on target species and time of year.
What city is this at benji?
Orange County is as much as I'll say...
Wish i was there
I've thought that many times over the years. Social media makes me insane sometimes lol
Where?
Way to kill it out there. And you are the structure finder!
Thank you always Dwayne. haha I just cast into anything that seems like it could be good. Sometimes it works out. Blessings!
Can't wait for the day where you will use inlines on all your LCs
Never say never but not planning on it.
Awwwww yea
Thank you Luis, appreciate you bro!!
What Beach is this??
This is definitely not in Tustin. My Grandpa, Dad, my sister and all my brothers have always been skunked in Tustin. Head further west for better action!
Del mar?
Sometime you get lucky…sometimes it’s lucky craft.
All this time and you still adjust your drag while fighting fish 😂
lol I'm an old dog with bad habits that don't fix 🫠
👍
🙏🤙
what beach is this?
Long beach is most poisonous
Does Kayla have a channel? Im a chick that fishes & would luv to follow her!
I believe she's intending on starting a channel at some point but her IG is in my video description. Tight lines!
Wow, very nice! But I just don't understand fishing and releasing back one of the tastiest fish in the ocean. I mean, why be excited about it being a legal to keep catch when you don't plan on keeping it.?🤔
the new rod lacks sensitivity not good.
Benjie, you might want to consider crimping/crushing those barbs if you’re using treble hooks. I’ve used barbless hooks for 22 years. It helps release the fish healthier and quicker. The myth of loosing more fish is just that. A big myth🙏🏼
Please give a hint on wich beach this is lol ! Im taking my gf out this weekend
Orange County is as much as I'll say.
Tight lines
@@BenjieKimFishing thank you so much! Love your videos!
I’d like to fish with you sometime
