One ultra high speed cable solution for all macbook accessories like external monitors, ssds, hard drives, web cams, monitor light bars and more! Best USB Hub. Best Docking Station. Caldigit TS4 Review. Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Review.
I like the fact that the Caldigit has both the charger input and connect to host on the back
ya for sure, been using it almost daily since posting this video and can't imagine having it any other way
I like your style, getting right to the point immediately then taking the deep dive. Totally appreciate that. Just subbed!
Thank you Angela, glad to hear! I appreciate you watching and the comment and sub 🙏
Nice comparison. I love supporting small channels and watching them grow. Much success to you.
Thanks a ton Quentin! I actually enjoy doing the same 🙏
Great idea to put the conclusion first 👍
Thank you! yes trying to do that whenever possible as I watch a lot of youtube and know how frustrating it can be sometimes.
You are actually producing quality contents, just subscribed, keep up the good work!
Thanks so much Ye! 🙏
Starting with the conclusion 👏🏻Subscribed
Thanks a ton Thomas! 🙏
Keep doing this good work.
Congrats for your channel.
Thanks from Portugal. :)

Great video!
Thanks Johnny! 🙏
right to it. love it
Thanks for watching Nick!
Wow this guy reminds me of Hodor from GoT! Love it!
ho-da-dooor
Again an very interesting video and of course a great comparative.
Good job!
In my opinion, the Thunderbolts are a very interesting products in a way that allows connect external GPU to almost any computer- A nice review could be that, a external GPU and ways to connect to PCs or Macs. Dont you think?
Greetings from Spain.
PS: The Winter is here John Snow!
Thanks for watching as always Mikel! I really enjoy reading your comments on these vids. I just looked up eGPUs and interesting concept for sure though can't say I've ever used them. I hear they're not compatible with M1 and M2 Silicon based macbooks though :/
I was thinking of doing a more generalized vid at some point of benefits of using a thunderbolt dock to introduce people that have never heard of it to the product/concept. I know I only learned about them recently and I've been a big fan of tech on RUclips for over 10 years hah so maybe a bunch of people out there could benefit from knowing about these things.. who knows..
P.S. Winter is here indeed haha and the long night awaits us.. we just had dangerously cold weather in Canada this past weekend 🥴
You deserve more subs. just subscribed. +1
Thanks a million Jackson!
I usually never give anyone a like, but I gave you a like because you did a TL;DR to start off.
Thanks a million! Glad you liked that 🙏
Hey sweet video man! I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a Caldigit at some point. They seem so solid! New sub here 👍🏼 out here supporting small channels like mine
Thanks Nenad! hope you enjoy it. Your channel and content seem right up my alley too so subbed in kind. Best of luck on this journey 🙏
@@seifbuys Thanks man! Appreciate the support
His name is made for content like this xD and he does a great job. He obviously did his research, but a short reasoning why he compared those two and not any of the other docks would have been nice. Also a short description about displaylink alternatives (for 3+ monitors on one dock), either with a display-link dock or a usb-to-hdmi displaylink adapter for the third display would also round up this review.
Haha, noted! thanks for watching and for the feedback 🙏
What beauty products do you use? Will it make me look as tan as Prince Oberon?
links in the description kind sir 🙇
Hi
Can u tell if it's possible to connect 2 external displays using satechi? Thinking about plugging only 1 typeC into MBP to connect all the peripherals and power.
Hey Nikita, yes confirming you can connect 2 external displays to a properly specd MBP to the satechi. I did it with 2 4k displays on my MBP M1 Pro and M2 Max
@@seifbuys thx)
A lot of people complained about TS4 not working properly or smoothly on macbooks as well as they do on windows laptops. Did you experience any issues?
Okay so it's not flawless, no usb hub, nor even the built in ports on the latest m2 max macbook are 100% flawless in my experience. It's as good as using the built in ports on the macbook in my experience, i'll say that. Just gives you more ports to work with. It also gets a little warm/hot to the touch when you're pushing it, not that i'm touching it and not that it's bothered me in the slightest.
What i mean by nothing is 100% flawless, sometimes i'll plug in an ssd and it won't detect it on first try/ happens on the built in ports on macbook too though, same with the SD card slot. But on second or third attempt usually does the trick.. not sure we can attribute that as an issue with the hub since happens with built in ports on macbook as well. Same with randomly turning on my monitor when i've put it to sleep, but that also happens when i'm using built in macbook ports so more likely an issue with monitors and SD cards or software on macbook or whatever idk.
So I love it, don't regret buying it and don't think there's anything better for macbook on the market right now. That's my 2 cents anyway hah.
I think an important point though is the Satechi is less than half of the price of the TS4! Still debating. I really just need a few extra ports. Crazy how much these cost!
Ahh agreed! I was completely baffled by the prices too when I started shopping for one.
@@seifbuys I went with the Satechi Slim for $180 after an Amazon coupon and tax. Fingers crossed that it works well!
@@marcusvaldes ooh nice, sounds like a great deal! ya hope it works out for you 🙏
How can you have 2 monitors plugged to the TS4 if you have a m1 macbook AIR? Nothing crazy just 1080p. Cuz it says it's not suppossed to have DUAL monitors with m1 AIR that's why I'm asking.
Hey, I don't own and never have owned an m1 macbook air. In the video I said I tried it on the M1 Pro 14 inch and the M2 Max 16 inch.. dual 4k monitors worked without issue on both. You're right about the m1 macbook air, i don't think it has dual 4k monitor support... I can't say for sure, but I imagine it would support dual 1080p monitors without issue though.
Can I connect 4 monitors using caldigit?
probably ya if they're all 1080p or 1440p monitors running at 60Hz or maybe less. Cannot confirm for sure though as I haven't tried. All I've tried is two 4k monitors running at 144Hz and 165Hz can confirm that worked for me.
Would the caldigit be fine on a Mac mini 2023?
ya, should work just fine with the 2023 mac mini! since it has thunderbolt 4 ports as well.
@@seifbuys Do I have to worry about the charging? TS4 charges what's connected to the host port right? But I don't need to charge Mac mini.
@@bassyey my understanding is that if the device is getting more power from somewhere else (like the power cable on a mac mini), then the TS4 host port delivers no additional power/wattage to the device/ mac mini.
Best Mac mini dock?
I would say the Caldigit TS4 as well. if you're looking for the best dock period. Definitely not the most affordable though.

lool u got me
CalDigit has no customer service and support. My brand new TS4 produced a conflict with my new Dell xps. CalDigit was no responsive. Boxed it up and returned to the vendor for a refund.
oh wow sorry to hear man, thanks for sharing and letting the people know.
Can the Satechi be used on Windows?
Yes, based on Satechi manufacturer materials, they say it's compatible with devices running Windows 10 and above. Just have to make sure your laptop or PC have a thunderbolt 4 port to connect the dock to.
