STEM PLANTS BUNDLE SALE - Over 75 plants - 15 Species for $59! Limited Time OFFER so HURRY! father-fish-aquarium.myshopify.com/ For Special Soil Supplements, Plants, FIsh & Merch in your country: fatherfish.fish/
Just bought one for my brand new tank. Going to do a potting soil and fluval stratum and top with light colored sand. Do you recommend filling with tap water that has been dechlorinated or filling with pond water so I get microspecies and bacteria? I have a lake in my backyard but it is full of geese so I never venture back there.
I gave fishkeeping after 45 yrs. I was the nerd who took a 20 gallon to college. Bred discus, angels salt water brackish, I tried it all. Following health issues the constant cleaning, water changes, and filter changes became such a burden I just stopped. I saw your video regarding dirted planted tanks and cleaned up a 10 gallon from storage and gave it a try. Thank you. I have returned to a hobby I love.
Love my natural dirted /sand capped /jungle planted /leaf littered/wood and stones scaped/ever evolving ecosystems! One year in and your original plant pkg I received and planted has been giving me enough trimmings for all my other tanks. Patience is def the key. Life is truly good! 😊☮❤🐠🦐🪴
Just placed a second order from Tony, it arrives today. Scuds this time. A couple of months ago I ordered a Bag of Bugs and in the last couple of weeks it seem everything is taking off and the fish look happier and healthier.
Every time I watch a Father Fish video I ensures me that your method is best out there. You, Dina and Tony made a great team. You inspired me to go get some more leaves and twigs from a pond today. I am going to check the original live stream to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
I absolutely loved this livestream. Honestly it really hit home for me just how important and beneficial that world of what we don’t see in our aquariums really are. This stream was definitely enlightening to say the least, Thank you sir😁👍
I just decided to do my first Father Fish tank with my new 125 gallon(yes I know that might be crazy to have be my first one but I am a go big or go home kind of person) and my bag of bugs. Wish me look so far everyone looks happy and my Amano Shrimp know something is up with the leaf littler the are constantly going thru it.
my two go to guys about the food web!! good to see you do another helpful chat together..keep educating us and show all those cool micfrofauna..i bought more from tony this week!! good stuf..going to to culture more scuds, isopods, microworms and more... plant deal is awesome! i well planted my 7 and 10 gallon tanks! thanks FF and Lou tony!!
Love ❤️ when these guys come together!! Just helped a friend setup a 60 gallon breeder tank, the “Father Fish “ way. She’s so excited and has been watching fathers and Tony’s videos. I helped her put her order together for Tony’s tiny creatures. We went to the river yesterday for rocks and pebbles and grit and dead leaves. She already sees life moving around!! Thank you guys for everything!! I want to give a shoutout to “Tiny Manegarie” Lauren has that same calming effect that Tony has in her videos ❤️
The subject of microdiversity is very interesting, and Tony's practical advice on point: I was wondering how it is possible to keep the microfauna we introduce alive in the long term. Unfortunately, I don't have access to rich water sources, and it seems that the jars with rainwater and leaves don't contain much of anything, so I envisage buying a culture.
Please father fish HELP!!!Hey father fish I have some questions and was wondering if I could have advice , first. I have a tank that was primarily made for just the look”” no tank mates just some plants coming form the top of the tank some sticks from outside and Java fern. It grows form sunlight. Today I flicked the tank on and I see a whole lot of tiny organisms in my tank , not sure what they are but they’re swimming away and looks like eating at the sticks. They weren’t water logged sticks just picked up and pushed into my rocks. I also only use rain water for this setup as well. Question is , is there anything I can do with this new life I have in my home. Kinda feel like they’re my pets now. lol. Hoping I could send you some pics and videos so u can tell me where to start in order to change it into something u do. I know you’ve said when getting fish locally you’d normally use ur water u get from tap. So I don’t know where to begin to start with it being fully rain water and rocks for decore reasons. !
@@DashDrones Just wanted to mention I just picked up another glass box and stand yesterday, used. When I get it cleaned up and set up I think it might be a community tank with Colombian Blues, Cardinals etc. It's 40 long. Not my first choice, but it just showed up and I took it.
You definitely need to watch more FF videos after that question. He would tell you no to gravel, no to the under gravel filter. Yes to sponge filter. Use 1" soil and cap with 2" sand.
First $59 pack I got didn't make it. Plants looked bad, could sometimes only tell top from bottom if the rubber band was there. Often I just planted a stem not even sure if it was the bottom in ground. Anyways, they sent me a new order of plants and now my tank grows so fast I already cut and replanted 2 times. Insane growth. Will start a new tank reuse the cuttings there. Only one species melted away, will need to find out what that was. Suggestion, maybe you can include instructions what to do. As soon as they arrive soak them, yes, but that should be in a separate water as it will get very green amd dead leaves will come off you don't need in your fresh planted tank. Also mention what species plant is best for foreground and back ground. I rearranged stuff on my first planting once I saw how the plant looked when recovered and how fast they grow. Some are just perfect against the back wall, others better smaller more delicate ir just prettier in the front. That would help. I stressed much about this at the beginning. Other notes. I ended up not putting my gold fish in it. I just predicted that they would destroy everything in there. Even with fhe tiny fish enough plants beame uprooted. 1 of my 6inch gold fish then died and I gave the other 2 back to fhe store for a better life. But in the 30gallon now really heavy planted tank, so many of the new fish died. 1 of 2 placos died early, the other I hardly see, 1 yellow guppy died, turns out the 5 red minnows seem to pick on their fins. Now my black Molly died yesterday. Another collie guppy is all chewed up and hides. Maybe it's these fun 5 minnows that don't work with others? But so much death. Sad.

I'm glad Tony mentioned the time it takes for all the life to begin to flourish. It's easy to get discouraged, but we need to be patient.
Thanks for all you do!! Happy father fish friday!!

Hey Father Fish, does the food web work for top dwelling fish?
They wil eat from the bottom of the tank.
Do you send to Australia
Go to fatherfish.fish, there is a distributer in Austrailia.
To many ads
Noted
Far far far too many ads, please reduce or I will reduce my watching. Otherwise love your videos.
Have to agree. Long time subscriber, but this felt like trying to sell me something rather than teach me something.

Great video 😊 DETROIT
I'm also in the Detroit area, good to meet you!
I would love it if you could show how to set up a fancy goldfish tank as they eat plants etc. thank you so much. Love your videos.
Just Plant some Anubias. They are tough enough that only monster goldies can damage.
Love from INDIA❤
how long do you have to let a new tank sit before adding plants?
at least an hour
Boom!
Great video ! Well put together
I am just starting and love the info. What do you think about under gravel along with sponge filter?
You definitely need to watch more FF videos after that question. He would tell you no to gravel, no to the under gravel filter. Yes to sponge filter. Use 1" soil and cap with 2" sand.
That will not work.

I am sad you are struggling so much.
Ok we love the idea of bio diversity it's just hard to get that micro diversity how do I get skuds for example. Do they enter the tank from plants?
You can order them from Philllips Fish Works or hopefully pick them up from your plants gathered from outdoors.
