As someone who was born and raised there, left like pretty much everyone I went to school with and generally doesn't think a lot of the place (living there is completely different to going on holiday or a day trip) it's interesting to see it through the eyes of someone else.
Love Bridlington, went earlier this year. Found the best B&B so have already booked for later in the year. Your videos are always the best so keep going.
OMG, I've lived in Bridlington for 3 years & although heard it mentioned many times, not actually been. This video was perfectly put together, definitely going to visit this summer now thanks to watching this 🥰
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I used to live right next to the Priory (19 years ago) and was able to see where I lived at the beginning of the video! Its interesting to me that the area of old town hasn't really changed at all since then, it looks just like as I remembered!
That was great. I was born just down the road from Brid, had family there and mum and dad both moved back there when they retired. I'm currently in New Zealand but we're moving back there in October. We did manage to get back over there in May for my mums funeral. You need to go to Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve as well, the cliff top walk from Bridlington to Sewerby Hall and the Amy Johnson display is fantastic as well.
Sadly and holidaying in Brid since the 1960s and apart from a drive by late at night I have not visited the old town, and it is so pretty and not too busy which I like, a must visit next time im in the area.
I love the seaside at Brid, these are many areas I've never seen before. Interesting mom and pop shops and winding streets! Hey Neil, how about Wentworth? Perhaps from the village to the Woodhouse. That house always fascinates me! ;)
Nice to c u showing the old town for a change always have a walk around there when I visit the inlaws just more peaceful and the priory is great to look around as well
A lovely video, and how lovely to see all those little shops, it’s so refreshing not to see the usual shops we see in most towns, it was a pleasant surprise to see the other side of Bridlington. I only ever watch your videos on the big tv. The film quality is superb. Thank you.
At 19.50 if you had continued on a bit you would have come to the old stocks (you could see them in the background) which were still used up to the 20th century. At 23.50 you showed the old maternity hospital (now apartments) where I was born in 1941 next to the Star Inn which is the oldest pub in town and well worth a visit.
True, the old town is blissfully unchanged, however, the seafront has deteriorated from a charming peaceful area of lawns, flowerbeds and wooden benches circa 1950's, into an ugly noisy dirty smelly fare ground. Such a shame!
@@GimbalWalkTV If you like real ale, take a book with you to sit down and enjoy the place for an hour or two, you'll only regret not having found it sooner.
I live here and its not surprising that there is so many wonderful comments from people who dont live here, because the people who do live here hate it, me included.
Went sat.. Could not wait to go home.. Locals strange and never seen so much dog pooh on the streets.. Utter shit tip.. Beach was clean and the speed boat was fun.. But wil not return.. Brid take some pride in your town.. And streets..
I've lived in Brid for twelve years but it's interesting to see it through other eyes as it were. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Never new Bridlington had such a charming and historic hinterland. I must hurry back !
Definitely
What a contrast this part of Bridlington is to the seaside part loved it thanks for taking me keep on walking 🚶♂️👍❤️
My pleasure 😊
Hello, Thank you so much for the wonderful walk through of each place you visit, I find them fascinating and very interesting!
If you took away the cars and street furniture, you could be in the latter part of the 19th century. Looks like a great place to explore. ❤️👍👍

Such a great walk. Yes the streets are worth a walk down to check out the pubs and shops. Keep on walking 😀

Would be a good idea to pan in on street names as a guide to outsiders like myself

Oh yes! Always does!
I must admit to the same. Been going to bridlington for years and never visited the old town. I must go the next time I'm there

Was my first time to be honest
In all my years of visiting Bridlington when my In Laws were alive & lived in Filey I have never been here
I’m going to have to put that right now
😃👍🏻

Definitely worth an hour wandering around

22.49 My Birthplace!-the area where I grew up 76 years ago
Amazing! Bet it's not changed that much either?
You should've gone in the Bayle "museum", there's furniture in there by the Mouse man!
Ah amazing! Next time I definitely will
There are a few mouseman mice in the priory aswell

I don’t mind it at all!
Fab brid sewerby Flamborough my favourite places
I need to do the other two places don’t I!
Yes and Bempton for the birds
Old town looks nice but last time I was by the seafront/ harbour area I thought it was a bit “rough”.
You need to go back and do a video of The Board Inn, it's stunning inside and is a more remarkable period piece than the Old Town High Street.
Ooh thank you - I will do. Looks interesting from outside so good to hear it's worth a nosey!

Can you film meltham West Yorkshire

Lovely! Nice little streets there
We are not East Yorkshire🤮 or East anything. Our County is Humberside, 💘 just as Teesside is Teesside
Ah ok apologies I didn’t know
Google and all the websites I use for info say East Riding of Yorkshire!?
More seaside towns
👍👍👍
9:06 where is this street please? Thanks

Get out whilst you can
😮😮😮
Its such a terrible place to live.
@@watts320 I know
It looks great on a sunny day, Bridlington could be a great place sadly there are too many low life’s spoiling it for decent people
Oh no sorry to hear that - is it bad?
@@GimbalWalkTV yes but I’m sure there is worse
