Muito bom ! Pegada forte! Vibração! Vitalidade !
Cafiso is a great technician but the teen saxophonist that most impresses me is Grace Kelly. Its almost incomprehensible that someone so young is able to conjure such maturity on the horn. I used to think that in order to sound like the legends you had to pay your dues in jam sessions, practice 6 hours a day and live a somewhat seedy lifestyle. Kelly and Cafiso prove that prodigious talent will every now and then trump experience. Sadly, most of us must get there the old fashioned way!
OMG! 15, or not - he's way too young to able to play like that! What an incredible talent. Rockindude365, you are out to lunch! (I doubt that you wil ever come back.) Could we have more info on this group and the performance!?
As long as guys are throwing out sonic models, I'll include Sonny Stitt. He made more than 100 albums, staying with bebop, the songbook, and a beautiful "embodied" tone that remained consistent from tenor to alto. Check out 3 versions of "Stars Fell on Alabama": Cannon (from "In Chicago," with the Miles' sextet minus Miles); Phil Woods; Sonny Stitt. 3 versions of heaven.
@lasmach the ones that cant hate the ones that do :)....but theres actually a lot of great and innovative jazz in NYC still man...really you need to spend 1 full day here to see wat i mean.
tayoung- what are you talking about...? Cafiso is a total beast (plus this is 6 yrs ago. 15 years old) and Kelly is good, but just not in the same category at all. I think it's ridiculous how you could come the that opinion. Hopefully you are not a teacher.
Love his playing. However he doesn’t have to travel at 100 mph. I Would like to enjoy more creativity which requires space. But he truly has the technique down. He will grow into his own style and sound.
this ensemble is SO impossibly cool! Both saxophonist and pianist are just fantastic!!!!
Una delle piu' belle interpretazioni, pezzo stupendo...
Oh My God! Awesome! I'm speechless!
Wow.... I am amazed!
Stunning!
This was sooooooooooooooo killin
I totally agree the piano held that piece together But Brill from a young Francesco
what an amazing talent at 15 - actually stumbled on this kids name when i was looking at phil woods clips. Fabulous young player.

they are great especiality the solist
Nice tone 👍🏻 🎷
Cose incredibili !!!
My words. I agree...
nice tone as that art pepper phil woods sound nice playing man
Although I still love his playing!!
He's got a hold of jazz....
Bear in mind that he was only 15 (born 1989). :)
For a fifteen-year-old, that's insane.
Don't miss the next Francesco Cafiso live concert at Rieti Guitar Festival on September 5-8th 2013.
To quote Butch Cassidy, "Who ARE those guys?" Francesco is incredible esp. for age 15, but who are the others in this group?
phil woods, jackie mclean, francesco cafiso, you name it, they're all after Charlie Parker
Sure but that doesn’t mean what this kid’s doing isn’t absolutely killin’
he's amazing
funny mouth when he's playin but someone had to say
as long as it makes that good sound i cant complain :-)
mostly phil woods in his playing.....great player
FUCKING WOW!!!!!!!
He me with that name Siciliano
@lasmach the ones that cant hate the ones that do :)....but theres actually a lot of great and innovative jazz in NYC still man...really you need to spend 1 full day here to see wat i mean.
Reminiscent of a young Christopher Hollyday, no longer a recording sensation; he has long been a music professor
Lots of Woods influence here
amazing for his age but how did tuning slip through his clearly vigorous practice?!
Sound very grating. Worse than early Jackie McClane (sp?)
yeap. hes the only one i've heard sound anything like woods
e magari!!! ahaha
he is my cousin!!! probably...
That piano solo, doh.
Ue,francesco si nu' mustr!!!
a little more Phil Woods
Cafiso is a litte more Phil Woods
haha lush life quote made me laugh
@djordjen
jeez, never go to those lengths as the cut in a groove...simple solution that worked for me: get a mouthpiece pad...:)
Too many notes... Ha ha
Awesome!

haha more like dizzy gillespie cheeks there lol
Un-named pianist. Why?
Tone is grating and intonation very poor. Pull mpce. and stop overblowing. Undeniably a great talent!

Nah, kid’s gotta tear it up. Hell bent for leather lol Young man’s gotta prove that he’s the baddest cat👍🏻
