As a saffa living in New Zealand, I always have rugby banter with my neigbour son(he is 8 years old). After the game he came to shake my hand and congratulate me on the boks win, with tears in his eyes, I couldnt help but cry with him and gave him a hug nd told him he can be very proud of New Zealand!

England redeemed themselves after "thinking" they had hit rock bottom after a pre tournament loss to Fiji. They beat Argentina twice, avenged themselves with Fiji, then nearly defeated the champs.

The fact that SA went the hardest route in world cuo history is immense...they were immense..PSTD..gave one of the greatest performances of all time. Deon Fourie was immwnse....but to my AB brothers...do NOT hold your head in shame...you were incrdible!!!...so worthy and more of a rival...invredible game

If the Boks had lost, I’d at least have felt a little satisfaction on Fozzie’s and Cane’s behalf.
As an All Blacks fan I feel for Cane and Foster too. Cane looked especially down during post match interview, I hope he's doing OK. The problem is there are a lot of insufferable Kiwi fans who expect us to win all the time. Supporting the team means also supporting coach and captain.

That's why the rivalry is so huge, because NZL is the one team we want to test ourselves against. I know it wont make it hurt less, but damn your boys were good. So much respect.

Bok fan here, I also wanted no cards but unfortunately it happened. I really feel for Sam Cane, that’s a huge psychological load to carry and he will be feeling he cost the AB’s the loss, but in the high speed game that can happen without any intent and you could see he was really hurting about it. I hope New Zealand are kind about it, and what a game either side could have won NZ can be proud. Respect!
Great World Cup tournament,great work Mark , as an Irishman I am delighted for South Africa they the hardest route to the final played all the top sides so can’t say they got an easy run to the final they always find a way, they have a fantastic team spirit , both team were out on their feet could have gone anyway at the death but it is not by chance that they win the last 3 games by a single point.

As a Wallaby fan I feel for the ABs. Basically played the entire match with a man down, 5 points adrift from their kicking attempts, and after such a fight they were within a point at the very end. The AB players will be hurting.

@TacRat you have no idea, a one point win, after Barnes let SAF kick a penalty he said was a mistake. Its too easy to blame the ref, but yet again Barnes makes it hard not to feel robbed by him.

Will say this week after week. Its such a pleasure watching your videos. As a South African, thank you for giving credit where credit is due and trying to be impartial. I must say, to me, 50/50's went our way. But thats not the reason the AB's lost. Had a few missed opportunities for posts not taken or missed.

Obvs your red card was tough to deal with but it was early enough in the game for you to stay in it, and stay in it you did. Big respect to NZL. This was one hell of a final! The ABs are incredible opponents, they truly pushed us to the limit, despite being down to 14 for the majority of the match! I have nothing but respect for them, truly a world class team who came up short by the finest of margins at the end of the night!
But incredibly proud of the Boks! Siya is a true inspiration, one of the greatest South Africans! Cheslin was incredible, and Deon coming in early for Bongi and performing was incredible.
Deon was so HUGE what a hero . You could see how he had to steal himself when realizing he had to go on in the second minute....probably he's worse fear / biggest challenge . Another Bok was there to encourage him in that moment . Never did he dropped his head ...maniac to the max times two. Heros all of them. Such inspiration ²
I don’t share this hero worship of Kolisi, in fact he shouldn’t be in the squad on playing merit. If he hadn’t been so selfish in the first half going for personal glory with Jesse Kriel unmarked outside him with the try line at his mercy, we would’ve been out of sight at halftime. Deon pushed PSDT and Faf for the man of the match award. Huge respect for the AB’s for almost pulling off a legendary win despite being ridiculously written off as the worst AB side ever post tournament. Although a massive Bokke fan, we have to pay tribute to our most respected opponents, even after they lost, they still acted like the class act they always are. Great tournament, epic final and the best team won, a great advert for rugby, the ultimate winner.
