I write everything you say down w a smile on my face. Lol it makes my day seeing your videos, keep up the fab work!
Oddly enough, I find orris root (iris) has been done so well by some designers like Dior and Prada in the past, I feel like niche and independent offerings aren’t worth the increase in price. One exception is Xerjoff’s Irisss from the absurdly expensive Stone Label Collection. Give it a try, Thomas, I think you’ll enjoy it! Thank you for another great video, stay well!
Scott Piper I so love Thomas. He is the most fantastic reviewer online today but I do dislike the random niche reviews that he has almost exclusively moved to. I used to watch every video he posted, haven’t watched in a while because I don’t care for any of the perfumes he reviews.
Aww, I recently reviewed the new mugler alien fusion, givenchy l'interdit, bvlgari tuberose, and la nuit tresor by Lancome. Go check em out. :) I try to keep it as balanced as I can. :)
Dragonfly is literally the perfume I popped onto RUclips for, but thought I'd watch your lovely Iris fragrance video first. . Low and behold its right here for me 👌💜🧚♀️
And I dont want the world to smell me, Coz I dont think that they'd understand, When all of my bottles are broken, I'll keep keep rocking poivre samarcand
Great video👍👍👍👍 amazed the first person who snubbed Prada Infusion D’Iris😄 there is one more but less pungent one by Excl line from Trussardi Porta Nuova. Strange that no one has done a review on that line yet, but interesting noses were involved in creating it. Porta Nuova in fact is everything what Infusion D’Iris has missed (for me at least) humidity, and comfort of the beautiful clean airy iris. I never get tired of this fragrance since acquiring it beginning this year.
I found this list so intriguing, especially when it came to Trimerous. As I love orris note based fragrances. Thanks for a very comprehensive and diverse top 10 Thomas.
A great iris scent is so addictive! Interest to learn about some I've other tried before , Xerjoff irisss and ramon monegal impossible iris are my two favourites 👌
Love Trimerous! Iris is one of my favorite notes and there is much here for me to check out! Some of my other favs are Serge Lutens - Iris Silver Mist and the original Dior Homme.
A superb video! Couldn't agree more about L'Attesa! But I definitely need to try Sappho. I think I have a Lush just down the street actually. That's CLOSED right now. 😢
Lovely selection! I recently discovered Boucheron Iris de Syracuse. It is gorgeous buttery in the opening, then turns into powder, but it is an Iris throughout its entirety. Lasts quite well on me.
Yaaay! Iris is one of my favorite notes and I love so many on this list, and there are also a few I've been meaning to try for AGES (looking at you, Citizen Queen). A recommendation for you: Iris Silver Musk from Serge Lutens.
I have bearded Iris in my yard and the first bloom opened today. I can say it does have a scent and it's nice. Too bad it can't be captured as an accord. I have a sample Yesterday Haze! Good stuff.
I watched you review of a number of Masque Milano perfumes a while ago and soon after blind bought a bottle of L’Attesa. Glad I did, one of my very favourite iris perfumes. I also love Lutens, Iris Silver Mist but L’Attesa is easier to wear and prettier while Silver Mist is more a perfume to wear when you have time to sit in a dark room and contemplate. Dragonfly is beautiful but almost too powdery for me to wear...or I thought it was. Maybe time to dig out my sample and try again.
Sampling Trimerous atm...I think I might get a bottle. I’m going to give it a full wearing after I shower off the other 10 or so samples 😆 then decide.
Great video, thanks! what about the Prada Infusion L’ eau d’ Iris though? They have a whole series of iris/oris based fragrances, all by Daniela Andier. I would love your take on them!
According to fragrantica.com there is no animalic notes in Sappho but there is Tobacco, perhaps this provides that dirtiness you spoke of. BTW thank you for this video :)
It could be, there is deffo something animalic and dark in here who knows? Lush only ever reveal a few notes for their perfumes so it's like a mystery every time.
Prada Infusion D'Iris is one Iris everyone seems to like and while I do like it, I think the Absolu flanker version is much better. In fact, it puts me in mind of Shalimar initial somewhat, with less citrus.
@@nickapostolopoulos3649 it really is lovely. One of my biggest perfume regrets is that I sold a full bottle of this perfume for a stupid cheap price, in a fit of Marie Kondo-ing my possessions.🤦😔😩
I used to love love love the old version of infusion d’iris by Prada. But it was discontinued. Then I moved to Iris Prima by Penhaligon’s, and now it’s going to be discontinued this year as well :’(
Great video! I just really started enjoying Iris (orris root) last year. I just realized that half of my fragrances have it featured prominently! Guerlain is releasing "Initial", I believe through their exclusive collection. In the meantime, Shalimar Parfum Initial L'Eau is pretty amazing itself, and I actually prefer it most days (except the coldest). Another favorite of mine is Maison Margiela Replica Lipstick On, but I'm sure everyone has their favorites. The Hour of Dusk and Gold sounds like a must-try! How do you think that Generation Z approaches their fragrances?
I hadn’t tried Dragonfly bc I expected it would be a watery, green fragrance. If iris is the main note, I’ll need to give it a try. I hated Parfum Initial when I first tried it...I mean seriously hated it. Years later I tried it again and I fell in love with it! I really enjoy iris, but when it’s paired with gourmand notes it makes me nauseous. I wish it didn’t bc it smells great, but I just have a bad reaction to it...Bois d’argent and Iris Ganache are two examples, I so want to love them, and they smell great, but my body is just repulsed by them for some weird reason...it makes me sad.
I was the same with parfum initial...hated now love it! Dragonfly is definitely not green, it's a white musk/iris with a bit of starchyness. hehe. Very pretty.
Just about starting this video, I put Iris 39 by Le Labo. But they are notorious that the name of their perfumes and scent itself is different. So I don't know if it counts as Iris note... My favorite, that's for sure 😍
@@teresatorres8540 Thank you for your kindness. We were put on indefinite layoff. I pray the economy and the company recover so 60 of us have jobs to go back to.
Not usually as iris isn't a real thing in perfume. Fragrantica has it listed as a "floral" note but it isn't. The only way it would be in a perfume is if a perfumer made a fantasy accord of the flower but, I don't think i've ever seen that, hmmm.
As a person who loves and grows iris I can tell you iris does have a smell a wonderful sweet, soft smell.
Teresa Torres I was going to say the same it’s a semi edible smell, they grow locally where I am in some places

Absolutely, it's just never what is in a perfume. They may make an accord of it out of other materials but it will never be real. Such a shame. :)
To me, D&G The One smells like the iris flowers that I have in my garden. I think that’s why I love it so much.
My favorite: FM's Iris Poudre. Thanks for the intro to some new ones!

I think so too, it just was very weak on me...pretty but weak. :)
Imaginary authors O unknown has orris root too. I wonder if that's better than Yesterday Haze?
It's much drier and smells like paper, there is also tea in there so it's quite different. Yesterday Haze is much more interesting in my opinion.
Try Iris du Champs, from Houbigant and Apres l'Onde from Guerlain... Iris masterpieces
Oh Apres Londe is gorgeous, I thought it was more Violet though? It's very gorgeous.
Iris root is iffy for me. Too many times it's a cold stoney wet metal scent. I think it's the Iris doing that, possibly with citrus.
