I love the fact that in each of your videos you are giving actual practical tools to implement. Watching this was a focus exercise in itself for me (I even took notes with the actions I want to put in place) and I appreciate you taking the time to create this!

-keep a blank site on laptop/or notebook for write my thoughts
    - use a visiual timer
    - 50 min work/ 10 min pause
    - set an implementation intention (Write 1-2 sentences about what i want to achieve before i do things - planing)

Staying focused for long periods involves removing distractions, practicing deep work sessions, setting implementation intentions, managing energy levels, and establishing a consistent routine.
    Key moments:
00:00 The speaker shares five simple ideas to stay focused for long periods of time, including removing distractions and addressing inner distractions, leading to progress on goals and hobbies.
-Outer distractions, like phone notifications, can be managed by physically removing the source or setting up barriers, aiding in maintaining focus during work.
-Inner distractions, stemming from discomfort with the task at hand, can be tackled by a four-step process involving identifying triggers, journaling sensations, and implementing a 10-minute rule to resist immediate distractions.
03:24 Training yourself to be unfocused through deep work sessions of 50 to 90 minutes, followed by short breaks, can enhance productivity and focus significantly.
-Keeping a journal to track distractions and triggers during work sessions can help increase self-awareness and combat inner distractions effectively.
-Efficiency over long hours is key to productivity, as highlighted by a successful RUclipsr, emphasizing the importance of deep work sessions for optimal results.
-Utilizing visual timers and structured breaks during deep work sessions aids in maintaining focus and training oneself to resist distractions for extended periods.
06:48 Setting implementation intentions significantly impacts behavior, as shown by a study where 91% followed through compared to 35% without. Planning tasks and managing energy levels are key to staying focused and productive.
-The power of setting implementation intentions. A study demonstrated a 3X increase in follow-through by simply planning tasks and intentions.
-Importance of planning tasks and avoiding distractions. Pre-planning work tasks and setting boundaries, like scheduling social media use, enhances focus and intentionality.
-Energy management for productivity. Managing energy levels is more effective than solely focusing on time management for optimal productivity and motivation.
10:23 Optimizing energy levels through understanding circadian rhythm, chronotype, and four dimensions of energy can enhance focus and productivity. Consistent meditation, creating routines, and having a dedicated workspace are key for sustained focus and performance.
-Understanding circadian rhythm and chronotype can help identify optimal times for focus work, exercise, and relaxation, leading to increased productivity and efficiency.
-Optimizing body, mind, emotion, and spirit can significantly impact focus levels, with improvements in sleep, diet, exercise, and meditation playing crucial roles.
-Creating a routine before focus work, practicing consistent meditation like mindfulness, and having a dedicated workspace can enhance focus, productivity, and overall performance.

Just stumbled on ur channel. “Even the same spot in a cafe” I’m glad u said that as a good alternative for cafe nomads - it’s a great point. As a nomad I’ve found myself working in Starbucks around the world - even I’m not necessarily a fan - it’s just that consistency of environment. And somehow I’m usually productive in there. 🙏

A weird thing I use is the ladder method, no idea if anyone else has already come up with it. I set a timer for 10 min, then I ladder up to 20 min, then ladder up to 30 min. No breaks in between the first 10,20,30 min, then I take a 10 min break.
This way my mind feels like I’m never studying more than 30 minutes at a time. I’m honestly in the home stretch of finishing school and this has helped tremendously.

Taking a note about trigger points “by writing” during the session changes my focus. However, I can focus to the session back when I hit a big&bold DOT to the end of the note. However-2, recording the trigger with a “primitive” simple audio recording is more efficient scenario for me, in terms of not losing eye focus during the session.

Energy management is actually pretty hard when doing college. I work a lot more efficiently at home on my schoolwork, since I can work with 2 monitors and am closed off from distractions. The problem is that I'm forced to attend classes, causing a big drain on my energy and lowering my performance. Do you have any tips on how to deal with this?
