growing up most of the places I lived in had a distinct style because my mum is really into interior design, so the dining room, kitchen decor, living room and her room is very modern with a mixture of a more classic/French provincial style, and the color scheme is generally red, black and silver and sometimes gold, but when it comes to spaces like our own rooms we can do whatever we want

My house is modern style with Africa decor mostly with Wildlife and Nguni. Colors is black, brown, white, teracotta and grey.

Do you take requests or ideas? If so, maybe a residental + retail lot could be cool? Like a bar with an apartment above it that the bartender lives in, or a resturant where the chef lives in the back room/office?
The question asked was if home styling is consistent. Here is my very long personal answer.
My parents have been married for 46 years, so the style in the home is very consistent. Over the years, they purchased furniture that would last would match, and maintained it well. When we moved, they reupholstered the dining chairs so they matched the new dining room, and the couch was reupholstered to match when it wore out. Their art has been collected over the decades to suit their style.
My room, on the other hand, has my old furniture mixed with my new sensibilities. I make it work. My 20 year old bed and 15 year old desk are white, as are my original bookcases. I had two that matched, and got two more from roadside yard sales, and then bought half a dozen more from IKEA recently in the white so that they all match. I bought a futon from Walmart in a nice grey, and I’m making my own grey cushions for my white bench seat. I bought a small grey bench, too.
My dining table is my parent’s old table, so it doesn’t match my style, but I have a tablecloth in blue to match my (their old) rug. I bought a clack entertainment center for my (their old) television, a black desk chair, a black music stool, and couple grey rugs. Having the neutral color furniture meant that I could add my own style in the accessories. I have a lot of London things from the years, and so red features prominently. I have a pink little bookshelf that I use for storage in my closet. Most other things I buy are black, or silver, or blue. (I’m glad I wasn’t aware “pick any color” to paint the walls extended to black, because the light blue I picked is much more versatile for the space.) I do have art of various kinds- puzzles and posters and canvases of varying value, but all to my interests.
Things I have for my space are either cheap, in which case I try to keep them neutral; hand-me-downs, in which case I try to make them appear neutral, or my style which we used to call ‘immortal/vampire professor’ until I discovered the term ‘dark academia’ because I’m a geeky gothy nerdy bibliophile. In case the 11 bookcases didn’t give that last part away.

Interior design has always been something that interested me . Every room needs a concept ...but not all of them have the same style ...too much going on in that ADHD brain of mine to settle on just one style

Not using tool for the windows! The ability to change windows is IN the game now! The Sims team updated it!

I have been enjoying the color series. Could the next one be white? It may be triggering since New England just got a bunch of snow, but a white build would stand out in the series.
