Honestly, it should still be both. If everything is cashless, then people might overspend. if cash, ppl will know how they still have and will be careful spending it
The main problem is that not all shops and payments can accept cashless or phone payments. but cash you can see the money itself so you can feel how much you lost when you pay.
The female host is so lame when she answered the three ladies why it’s illegal to wash clothes with dollar notes!!!!!!! So lame but so funny lor…. I literally LOL!!! 😂😂😂🤣🤣
@@SuccessforLifester I'm quite surprised a lot of Singaporeans dk this, Shopee and Garena is under Sea Limited. One of the best tech companies in SG now.
I went to Gothenburg & Stockholm and they all accept cashless payment aside from using cash - their public toilets that are pay-to-use that I went to only accepts cashless payment. It was quite tough to find a money changer here in SG that carries Swedish Krona and when I finally found one, the uncle said not many money changer has the currency cause in Sweden it's pretty much all cashless, so not much demand for it. And tbh with cashless, no reason to overspend when there are settings to place limits on your expenditure and apps to help track your spendings but if you still overspend then...that's on you, friend...
I'm already using cashless payments since two years ago.. I love the fact you can just pay your bills with just a phone.. So much that I really only bring phone whenever I go out.. (but wallets I still bring just in case) but yaah all of my friends knew I'm a cashless person
It is quite worrisome. The payment merchant may suddenly go defunct and take your money with you. And these merchants are often uncontactable when you need help. Also you may also forget money you left inside these merchants. This is for cases where you need to deposit money with the merchant first in order to use it.
currently in Korea cashless is almost 98%, I lived cashless life since early 2000. you can buy almost everything with credit card even something really cheap(less than 1 dollar) there is no side effect you are worrying. I never waste money at all. people will get used to it.
Correct me if i am wrong, some e-payments methods if the limit exceed $100 have to key in pin number, very inconvenient. Also if lost phone drop phone, phone spoilt very problematic. Lots of security issue too when changing phone or lost phone. Also have to take note when discarding spoilt phone, better don't recycle it. I still prefer netsflashpay stored value cards.
The epayment ecosystem in sg is years behind China. In 2014 I was using wechat and alipay buying fruits from old lady in a pushcart in rural China. We have some way to go.
That old uncle should feel sorry for himself, not because of his choice of using cash. He prefers to use cash I respect that. But he should feel sorry that he worked all his life but still has only $1000+, and yet has the audacity to tell the young lady to work harder.
@@jimw8615 The uncle himself said in the video he just nice has this amount so he took it out. This is how I deduced his cash equivalents asset is at about the $1000+ level. I don't rule out that he might have other income generating assets or children supporting him. His assets is not what triggered me to write the comment. It's his attitude. I would never show disrespect to anyone based on his assets. What triggered me was his audacity to tell the thing lady to work harder when he heard that she didn't have much cash in her wallet. From his expression and tone of voice, I interpreted that he was telling her blame yourself for not working hard so that you have no money. It is this attitude that applauded me and triggered me to write the comment.
As far as possible, I'll use e-payment. Gov should make it mandatory specially Covid times. Using cash at some point in time I'm sure lost some coins. 😅
Brought to you by Monetary Authority of Singapore

The uncle so cute though 😆😅
Ive been cashless since 1990s. Im living in poverty
I use cash most of the time. Cash is way better as you don't know when your bank account is freeze due to bank going bankrupt
I'm in my 20s and I still bring cash. I rather have the option to use one or the other.
singapore is horrendously behind in cashless payments... go to australia and even a coffee truck in the middle of no where accepts card.
Best is paid by singpass and deduct from cpf....
Good idea. And after finishing your cpf, we Singaporeans will use our tax monies to support you till you leave this world. Not a bad idea
I be always support use of cash. Going anti cashless
I can only choose "cashless" payment because I'm broke .. Lol ..
I don't remember when is the last time i use non cash

Your money should be in your own hands. Why so silly leave it in other people's hands who may be eyeing your money
Possession is nine ten of the law!!!!!
Do not part with your money unnecessary. 💰😂
Scrap all cards. Use money., legal tender. Cards can never substitute money. Chang Chang Chang.

im the kind of half half people.. but the uncle is mood
No point going cashless as card payment equipment could be tempered
over time we lose the importance of the value in money because it is virtual and not physical anymore. digitalization will controls human behaviour
Personally I dislike card system, pay la, pay first, pay grab etc. I believe Cash is King.
I would not go cashless as it espose us to hackers and scammers

The question itself is dated. It should be card vs mobile phone.
For Paylah, Paynow, u need to have cash in your bank account. There is no chance of overspending above what u have.

95% E- payment, 5% Cash nowadays

Allo, use your common sense. $1k in wallet is not all that he has. Sigh…
