They want cashless so they can make fees on transactions. Cash exchange can't be taxed or penalized
I try pay cash as much as possible, once everything goes online it leaves it wide open for cyber criminals.
And for Governments and banks to control access to money and ownership of assets
And the Chinese-style 'social credit system' which goes along with the digital ID which is needed for a cashless society will make totalitarianism inevitable! Digital currency is 'programmable' and therefore can be used to literally control what you may, or may NOT, purchase... AND if you get socially 'out of line' as per your 'social credit' score, you can easily be 'de-banked', which effectively makes you an 'un-person'.
Like you, I too use cash as much as I possibly can, and those who are TRULY cash-savvy should know better than to want a totally digital currency!
Are you listening, boys and girls? Say HELL NO!!! to a cashless society!

I use cash all the time and so do a lot of other people. Cash is King.
Many reasons to retain cash as backup. Natural disasters where infrastructure is damaged, having to shut down your accounts due to security breaches, physically losing your card or phone, large scale cyber attacks. And it’s helpful to practice budgeting with cash - you have to plan more and can’t just wave the plastic wand.
You do realize that digital cash can be fully controlled meaning they control your money not you
That is the target.Your account will be programmed. For example your qr code will work to a certain distance from your home. After that can be not available. Also you might be not allowed to build savings over certain amount.
Cash is king 👑
Yes. Cash is king
I will NEVER go cashless as I trust NOBODY. For me Gold is king. Cash is queen and plastic rates about a 3. If a company refuses to accept my cash then I shop elsewhere.
A few questions with going fully cashless
- network goes down (whether the telco or eftpos network), then how to pay for goods.
- Card surcharges in play at many independent petroleum stations, fast food takeaway and some Franchised pharmacies. Some with no notice till you have tapped to pay. If fully cashless, will this just expediate and add an already extra burden to inflation and cost of living
Yeah cashless would be great!! Oh whoops internets down then what?? Oh you got on the governments bad side, cut off!
This is a horrible idea, don’t let it happen.
What about natural disasters/outages of any kind? You will be left stranded. Its a safety issue !
Problem with cashless, the powers that be, can SPY ON YOU, and dictate what you can and cannot do with your OWN money. Current system is fine. If the Optus outage hasn't sent a reminder that the reliant of cash is crucial digital only future is NOT reliable, prone to hackers and power / service outages
Great insight but Australia should never going fully cashless. You can never let telecoms, banks & government to have absolute control over the way you transact. That's asking for trouble.
Yes that’s so very true - you lose complete control of your world if you do. Ask your Chinese friends; people. They will tell you stories of working around the clock to save money and the currency is changed - all savings went to zero - so they started again ….
It's too late.....Australians already showed they like being controlled, and Governments are only too happy to control, as demonstrated by how Australians supported and embraced lockdowns to feel safe.
That's just why this vid channel was created. To educate people into not giving up cash.
they are forcing you by closing options in which way to make payments. loss of greedom of choice is gone.
there is a whole lot of B.S.about being cashless.Never met a cafe owner that was not happy with cash instead of card!Talk about cashless propaganda!!Dozens of shop owners want cash payments!!!
I think considering that most of the students interviewed were from the one adelaide grammar school and therefore likely to be from higher income families, that you didn't quite get an accurate representation of the average student. The stats I found were more relatable than the interviewees.
Always we use cash , every bank wants you to do everything in you phone. So they can reduce staff, and increa$e more profit$ from that .
And monitor and control you.
I used cash this morning and yesterday. If anyone doesn't want their cash or coins I'm happy to take it off your hands.🙂
Cash is king! Electronic means loss of freedom to choose!
Same people whinge when the Internets goes down and cards stop working, proves their money isn't in their control
We still got cash 💰 ...we're keeping it for emergencies because the banks can't be trusted with our money and eletronics payments.
Also with Christmas it's easier paying family members back in cash for gifts for others.
I’ll avoid all stores not taking cash.
Cash is important!!
Ask anyone of the millions in Australia who have been caught out during EFTPOS outages, power outages and **cough** that Optus 'incident'...or the state wide power outage in South Australia a few years ago ..or .well you get it
Who would have thought asking those demographic people that they will mostly use card over cash.
Yes, I was surprised even some still carried cash.
Asking Gen Z about cash is like trying to catch air with your bare hands 🤦🏽♀️
I just got hacked and no one is responsible for the money I lost 😢
Yup because it was the bank my friend. Anyone who believes scams and people having their bank accounts wiped is some dork in Russia is living in 🤡🌍
I'm 46, l use cash daily. I prefer it. Cash is king!
My supplier only takes cash, in small bills...😮
Same. And no receipts.
Product's nice too. 😂
Unmarked.............
Stop bullying people to go cashless, why carnt we have both?..
Bad idea
How come?
@@DrWolvestoo much tracking by lobby groups who essentially have become the 'thought police'
Also how much foreign influence in fiscal policy do you want?
That is how I read into it
How much do you trust them?
@@DrWolvesgood question though I appreciate it
@@DrWolvesonly got to look at how Australian Governments loved controlling citizens during covid, and doing so with no accountability, or needing to engage with any media that questioned decisions or "the science", and how much Australians loved being controlled. Won't end well.

I bought a few items at a garage sale for $50. I gave him a $50 note. The seller bought some new shoes with that $50 note. The shoe shop owner used the $50 note to buy some groceries. The grocer used the same note to buy a crate of watermelons from a local farmer. The farmer bought $50 worth of fuel for his tractor. The fuel seller bought his children some second-hand school uniforms with the $50. The mother who sold the second-hand uniforms put an extra $50 worth of food on the table for her children, using the $50 note. This continued for a multitude of transactions and every time the $50 was still worth the original $50.
Now, using a card, the seller only received $49.90. The next seller only received $49.80. The next only received $49.70 ... this process continued until the whole $50 card payment was swallowed up in bank fees and resulted in $00.00, zero, zilch, nothing, nowt. No wonder banks want to remove cash from society.
The banks will simply increase all their fees and there will be nothing anyone can do about it.
Australians will never accept cashless. Cash is the only legal tender in our constitution
Well those kids will be paying ten dollars to spend five once the banks have control. Who is there to stop them from upping transaction fee’s. Think first.
If your bank account got compromised and your account was frozen you would not be able to even go to the shops for a bottle of water. This is very worrying!!!!!
i think people need to go back to cash with all these new fees, and in case of an emergency is similar to Optus outage
The Biggest issue nobody talks about is the fees one has to pay to Mastercard Or Visa , so using Cards make everything automatically Expensive. Australia should adapt UPI from India
Then end game is Central Bank digital currencies. The RBA has already run a pilot alongside the BIS, and don't they love it. Nigeria tried implementing at the retail level and it was an abject failure.
Cash is king!
Is inevitable, especially now Australian Governments tested and proved Australians appetite for control and compliance to restrict movement, and to involuntarily imprison people, inflicting a digital currency on them will be a walk in the park.
Of course they tried it in a third world country with NO infrastructure whatsoever so yeah sounds about right . Ahhh the Bank for International Settlements. The most dystopian place on planet Earth
It's great if you don't mind the gov. Knowing every single thing about you and if your phone company goes down or electricity or any so called disaster then what. Nothing that's what.
A lot of people are cashless right now
Digital payments, when the system goes down, retailers and normal people go without.
Business losses profit, customer are left in the lurch.
Why, when business has two ways of payment for business, why would business get rid of one Avenue of profit?
Two ways of profit,is better than one.
Especially when the digital payment option is so ,so unreliable 🙏🙏
Who is for social credit. Yay this is how you end up in a distopian hell.
Cash will be back when people realise when their banks will refuse to reimburse them for their stolen moneys and proving banks aren’t as secure as they like to appear to be
Cashless socks. Proven with optus melt down. I'm all for cash always will be.
The problem is that some companies are now charging to use credit cards, so I'm working to use cash in those cases.

Wait till u get hacked no moneybox for kids it works well as is .
Maybe those kids asked should be told why we are using cash again. It's not because of conspiracy theories either. It's because we are worried without cash, the government could indeed control what we spend money on, where we go and how we do things and even how we think. The book '1984' a stern warning by Orwell who predicted all this shappening, way back in 1948. He only picked the title of the book before it sounded futuristic.
Misinformation or disinformation ! Cash is still legal tender in Australia and therefore Australia has not ditched cash. However some local retail banks have decided not to continue to provide Cash related services such as processing cash and cheques transactions including deposits and withdrawals.
You are trying to create the impression that in Australia digital currency is readily accepted by the public which is not the truth.
Win win for the banks then
Cash is more anonymous. Without cash, it's possible and inevitible individuals could be denyed goods and services due to authorities restricting what is allowed to be purchased. Political dissidents could be financially crippled at the press of a button. Health insurance companies could get information from financial records about who spends money on junk food. Goodbye more privacy and goodbye more freedom.
It's all about power and control.
Is it so hard to teach someone how to tap a plastic card? No cash means less muggings? All the people I know that are against cashless, talk about the government knowing what they are spending their money on. I am not doing anything wrong, so I prefer companies know what I am interested in, so I get targeted advertising for stuff that actually makes my life easier. I can't understand, why someone would take cash out, just to hand it back? I'm more about efficiency and cash definitely isn't. My local bakery has EFTPOS but has a $10 limit. Therefore I have to forego the meat pie, I would probably buy everytime I walk past.
No no no to cashless
How about young people's numeracy issues? - God bless 'em. - They are Australia's future, however those of us who use cash, politely force them to learn how to count. Ever bought something for $10.20 and handed over $20.20, because you didn't have a ten dollar note, and wanted to help out? Remember the puzzled look you sometimes received? The young person then learns two things:- how to subtract, and that many customers want to help them by allowing them to simply locate a ten dollar note. - Good old fashioned courtesy and mateship.👍
Cash is king
Cashless is a control system....wake up people
No Thanks I like the Freedom of Cash not the banks telling me where and how I can spend it that's coming And more and more transaction Fees when ever they feel like it Communizes at it's best It's OUR money Banks not Yours's I remember back in the day you got a pay packet from your Employer CASH for your weeks work
The bible predicted a cashless society 2000 years ago.
RUclips the mark of the beast by hope through prophecy.
you only speak to young people ,try to ask people with disabilities elderly. people who don't use technology and you will get a different answer
I got caught up on the $1000 note from grandma. 😂
Economic investigator Frank G Melbourne Australia is still watching this very informative content cheers Frank as subscriber 😊
Don't charge me to use my cash.. then I'll go digital.
Just cause these idiotic teens don't use cash means nothing they don't own anything.
WE DONT NEED CBDC’s NO THANK YOU!
GO ADELAIDE!
Wait.... Why does the reporter look like Ken Oathcarn from the rap news videos that The Juice Media used to do several years ago? It's uncanny.
One good thing about going cashless means less muggings and less being short changed
That's not going to discourage violent crime. Just giving more control to the government and the federal reserve and freedoms will be lost. It's all con no pros
Cash want be around
90% of the worlds currency is already digital
Yes that's what the video was about Captain Obvious!!
I love the paranoia when we talk about going Cashless 😂😂😂
It's absolutely warranted.
