Some narration or subtitles would have made this better. Especially over the sound of the truck which sounded like it was having severe gastronomic issues.
@@gullreefclub i dont think you'll learn anything if the title is totally wrong, this video is surely not about "turf cutting" at all, its about peat bricks hand making, to burn them, which in itself is an heresy.
Eso no es corte de cesped.Eso es corte y extraccion de turba, que es un material derivado de especies vegetales en descomposicion en tierras pantanosas. Es un sustrato con abono organico excelente para el jardin y el huerto..

There's nothing to beat the smell of burning turf and fresh bread in the oven
Peat is like firewood: it warms you three times. First when you collect it. Second when you pile it up at home. And third when you burn it. 😊
The meitheal is a powerful, powerful social concept.
Around turf, hay, sheep dipping, the Station Mass

If you read the narrative and watched the clip you would understand what the vehicle was doing.
Could you elaborate on what makes the process of traditional turf cutting in Ireland "hypnotic"? Is it the rhythm, the technique, or something else?
Well🎉 as you can see, he's using a traditional spade that's why it's called what is it.
If he use stone, the title will be Stone age cutting😅😅
And I always thought turf was green grass, but this guy is cutting 1000`s of years old peat, laid out for drying before use.
Well like my Daddy says if you learn something new every day you will be a wise man/woman when you get old

Eso es turba irlandesa es material orgánico en descomposición de plantas con poca oxigenación carbonozandose, lo cual se usa como combustible
Usually done by machine not by hand, and with loads of litter left around the place beside them as well
" Usually " ? Not at all.
Litter ? Nah. Farmers have too much respect for the land. Come to Achill, and see the neatness.
What the hell is going on!
Digging peat. It's used like firewood to heat their home.
