I appreciate you sharing with us that you took time to grieve with your friend. My dad died unexpectedly about 6 months ago and the weight of grief is so heavy. It can also be incredibly lonely and isolating, so people choosing to enter into grief with those grieving is such a picture of God's comfort and love. Thankful for a hope in Christ that one day every tear will be wiped away, and until that day we persevere together towards God.

Grief is super hard, complex and confusing. I lost my mom 6 months ago. It was a long time coming, due to health problems, but it happened so, so fast. Nothing can prepare you for big loss.

I’m so sorry for your grief.
I lost my Dad 6 months ago, completely out of the blue. He was in what we and he thought was great health, looked 20 years younger than he was, never been on medication and then he had a heart attack in front of my husband, baby and myself whilst staying with us for a few days, and it was all so fast we couldn’t save him.
I’ve never experienced anything so traumatic, confronting, unexpected or tragic in my life. It’s been so hard to comprehend the extent of loss, and how permanent it is.
Even though I was there right with him, I’m still in disbelief and doesn’t feel real.
I’ve felt so connected with others who have also experienced such loss as it’s something that until it happens to you, or someone you love it’s just unimaginably awful and it’s hard to know what to even do, how to help, be there, support or understand what they’re going through.
I’m so sorry you’ve experienced something so tragic also and sending love, light and joy. Prayer is so powerful and so healing, particularly for those times. 🤍 x

Love that you take time to be and feel - super important! I lost my mom to brain cancer 5 years ago and some days it still feels so real, but I felt like i was drowning that first year and didn’t know what to do. But as promised, God always brings good from the bad and He never left me and my relationship with Him is so much closer - it also made me realize the most important things in life aren’t things. Prayers for peace, comfort and understanding for yours/your friend’s loss...one day at a time 💕
