Thanks for tuning into Appalachian Anarchy! We appreciate all the feedback and love, but I want to address a few comments labeling our music as AI-generated.
I'm the songwriter behind our tunes, very much human, and here to share our story. Appalachian Anarchy began as a recording project. When "Banjo Bloodbath" took off unexpectedly, we sped up releasing our music, which has been both thrilling and chaotic. Our goal shifted from a slow release to sharing our entire album, crafted over nine months, as quickly as possible due to your overwhelming support.
Not all of us are keen on being internet personalities; our focus is the music. In the digital age, where fame is often sought after, it’s hard to believe, but some of us prefer staying out of the spotlight.
For full transparency, I use a MIDI guitar for complex sections and other instruments whenever possible. As a classically trained guitarist who plays multiple instruments, I strive to capture the sounds in our heads, sometimes at odd hours next to a sleeping baby’s room, using both traditional and digital means. This mix allows us to create without the resources of a professional studio.
We dream of doing this full-time someday, but for now, we balance our music with jobs and families. Thank you for being part of our journey, and I hope this clarifies our approach. We’d love to hear your thoughts and hope you continue enjoying our music!

I worked as a phone monkey for years and have been called artificial for a lot of it. I equate it with speaking to many different people and speculate some are just being ignorant of the feelings of others. Human nature. Don't like it but cannot argue. I will write that if I rebutted asking whether they were actually women or men, they would understand quick enough. Great job.

Right now we're just a recording band of three. A drummer and bassist that lay down the groundwork for the song, then our guitarist is a multi instrumentalist so he overdubs all the folk instruments and metal guitar work.
Sometimes we do the opposite though, and start with the folk instruments and lay the heavier stuff on top. Just depends on the song.

Someone called out this comment as proof that I'm a liar - so I wanted to update you. This was correct at the time but things changed quickly after that!
The bassist we were trying at the time didn't work out - not much else to say there. The drummer played on a few tracks but his circumstances changed and now he doesn't have a good place record loud music anymore (he's still an awesome friend, and he'll probably still play on tracks here and there)
So the guitarist (me, Patrick) was/is really the only one left on the island 🤪. I'll be bringing in talented musician friends to help me and I'll be hiring studio musicians going forward to keep the music interesting and evolving until it makes sense to make this a proper "band." I believe that playing music with different people is one of the best ways to grow as a musician, and it keeps our mind open to lots of possibilities.
I'm sorry if this caused any confusion, the intent was absolutely to be transparent - but things were rapidly changing at the time (and still are!). THANKS, and ROCK ON FOREVER!!!

We use an art guy that works for the label we're signed to, Mighty Happy Crew. His work is fantastic!
He said he uses AI to create assets (backgrounds, settings, etc) and then adds hand drawn elements in Illustrator and compiles everything in Photoshop.
