Crazy that this happened to the jets back in 1998 as well when Vinny Testaverde tore his Achilles in the game opener and ended the Jets chances of a Super Bowl run. This has to be a curse now it’s happened twice to a starting QB with the same injury in an opening game for the Jets.

As a die hard Jets fan since 1984, and being aware of the infamous "guaranteed victory" speech by Joe Namath before the 1969 bowl game, it's safe to say that the football gods have cursed this franchise. We will never win another bowl game again. Thanks Joe, hope it was worth it lol!

I woke up today thinking it was a dream; I really can't believe what just happened to him. I hope he can recover and maybe get a season or two before retiring.

This injury is mad unfortunate. Jets fans waiting all seasons and the organization spend a crap ton of money to ....
    Watch Zack Wilson start again.

Zach Wilson has the perfect opportunity to prove himself in this league. This is still a great young team outside of these unfortunate circumstances. They can make a playoff run if they stay focused.

I feel for the jets. I’m a cowboys fan so losing your QB to a lower leg injury I know all too well. This jets squad is legit, I was seriously waiting to see how far they could go with Rodgers at the helm, studs at RB/Wr’s and that defense is lights out! Was expecting a deep playoff run, I mean it could still happen with Wilson, but damn….

It’s not the turf. There are also studies that show no correlation between injuries on grass and turf, it was a defender putting pressure on Rogers who planted his foot, on grass he still would have planted his foot, injury would still have occurred.

My FIRST time playing on turf in pop warner, I got “turf burn” and it got infected in my right arm. I had to get it treated. That was when they introduced it at our hometown high school in the early 2000s, it was my LAST time playing on turf until I got to high school, they switched our Pop Warner back to that grass!

Frail, 39-year-old QB, horrendous Offensive Line and an absolute idiot in Nathaniel Hackett calling the plays. This was never going to work out and I'm pissed at myself as a Jets fan for buying in, partly because I had no choice, but I knew better and should've anticipated the worst.

I've been a Packers Fan since the 1995 divisional playoff round. I watched the drama of Favre to Rodgers, and Aaron becoming a better QB than the the one-time goat of Favre. I remember beating the hated Steelers in '10, cheering in a whisper because my brand new son was sleeping. I remember the NFC CG heartbreaks. All of them.
It was hard to see the breakup of a player whose jersey I still have, and the team that still owns the colors. As a fan and an adult, I understood. I was, and am, bummed out - but I understand.
This injury is such an utter dick punch to a Hall of Famer, and a desperate fandom, that it is entirely devoid of schadenfreude. Nothing here but pain.

I'm so bummed for the Jets, and Rodgers. But 37 million for 4 minutes of regular season play has to be some type of record.
