      Buy them from a larger retailer with high stock turn over - most larger retailers don't keep stock for more them a month or two. It is only smaller retailers that don't sell many where the stock will sit on the shelves for a long time. I know we get a new batch every month or two usually

    Hello! Please tell me, is there a difference in sound between the new HD25 Light and HD25? The new HD25 Light drivers have the same design as the standard HD25 and the same 70 Ohm impedance.
    In my HD25 Light (new version) the measured resistance is 60 Ohms.

    • @CustomCans

      Yep exactly like two times ;) the 25 anniversary HD25 and the amperior. When sennheiser discontinued them we bought up all the spare parts for them so we could keep building them. There is a video on here somewhere of us building the last ever pair of the original aluminium HD25s. The original HD25 aluminium are now going for over £400 on ebay and so are a bit out of our price range. Hopefully we can knock out this version out for around half that.

    Hey there) I know i'm late to the party, but it seems a lot of people report leather on pads of HD 25 plus (at least haven't heard so much of this complaint about regular ones) begin to peel of on 3rd day of usage. Sometimes it's get mistaken for white sweat stains but that's not it- it's actually upper layer of leather coming off. Is this issue widespread? The resistance you are measuring seems right. We have seen a couple of pairs with the white peely looking stuff on after a bit of use but we have found if you give them a wipe with a damp cloth it comes off and then they seem fine. I am not sure what is is, maybe some surface coating or something they are adding in the factory that is going a bit wrong on the odd pair. I think we have seen around 1 in every 200 pairs have this issue reported back to us over the past 6 months and not seen it on any in the past couple of months so maybe it is sorted now.

    What’s new for Sennheiser HD25? They still don’t last very long.
    I really don’t understand the continued praise for their longevity. I’ve had multiple pairs, all have failed. I know plenty of circuit freinds with the same problem.
    Last pair lasted 2 weeks. I’ve put up with the disposable nature of them as I felt they were unparalleled for sound quality and comfort but I’m done replacing them every other month.

    • @CustomCans
      @CustomCans  25 дней назад

      I feel your pain.
      ( TLDR they are normally easy to fix there and then with no need for tools)
      As we make a lot of one off pairs normally people send them in to us for servicing or repair if they fail. Because of that we get to see how they fail. We also get to see many pairs that have kept going in a DJ environment for 10 years plus with just a little servicing. For DJs, it seems to be two main things that cause issues - something in the socket on top of the earcups like hair product or dried sweat or the hinges come loose. Both can be fixed pretty quickly / prevented. I would recommend, once a month unplug the cable from the top of the earcups and re-insert it to clean out any funk that has built up in the socket and check that the screws on the hinges are tight ( they are designed to fit a coin so no need for tools ) . That may not be 100% necessary but as they are mission critical for a lot of DJs it is worth doing once a month to make sure.
      SO for us, HD25s can normally be fixed in 5 mins by the customer where as pioneer, technics, sony and other brands normally need to be repaired / re-bulit in the workshop and take a good hour to do which is no good if you have a gig.

    The problem with those pins/contacts is on purpose.The vast majority of users will go and buy new headphones.20 years ago I had the same problem with HD580 made in Ireland.I bought a new cable twice and finally got rid of them for nothing.I wish I knew about the problem.
