To be fair, it's not unlikely that Tommy was still in the apartment when Amber made that video. If they had just ended it, there is a chance Tommy doesn't have any other place to go/way of leaving the apartment on short notice. If I remember correctly they had planned to move away together somewhere? (Or was that just a rumour?) Then it makes sense for Tommy to not be able to just drop everything and leave that same day. We also know Amber likes to have her exes close even after ending it with them, so it's not impossible that she has simply asked Tommy to stay for a few days/weeks until they "figure it out" or whatever. Ideally, I'm sure Amber would like to find a new caretaker before getting rid of this one.

Obviously there are a lot of good nurses, though I've worked housekeeping in many nursing homes and I've witnessed a significant amount of cruelty and indifference from nurses towards patients, and they look down on any other staff members they view as being beneath them. I believe Dr Now tried to involve Adult Protective Services to take James out of his partner's care, but they deemed him to be a competent and consenting adult choosing to eat the food he was brought and thus didn't/couldn't do anything. you really got the sense that the healthcare team was devastated by this outcome, as they knew that staying with his partner would be fatal but they couldn't do anything.

I believe Dr Now tried to involve Adult Protective Services to take James out of his partner's care, but they deemed him to be a competent and consenting adult choosing to eat the food he was brought and thus didn't/couldn't do anything. you really got the sense that the healthcare team was devastated by this outcome, as they knew that staying with his partner would be fatal but they couldn't do anything.

@swedishmom mommalynn. I hope she has enough strength to say no to Amber. I think she let's her say & get away with a lot more than she would with anyone else out of guilt. Amber is an adult & needs to realize the world, including her mother, doesn't owe her anything. Many of us were dealt a bad/difficult hand growing up, but we make the necessary steps to help ourselves.

The thing that baffles me about this situation is the number of people convinced Amber's mother is going to talk some sense into her. Why?
