(i forget what it was called) for those 3 years she kind of disappeared and took time to herself after they cancelled her show because of her coming out, not having the decency to even tell her face to face ( i think they texted her if i remember right). so this was her coming back into the public eye i guess.

Looking at it again, it must have just been a guy walking with a steady cam. When I first watched it I thought it was high up in the street and other stuff it actually didn't do. It always helps to go back and review before commenting. :O)
I know the interpretive dance is supposed to be funny and it is, but it also accurately shows what she went through after coming out and the process that every gay person must go through on a journey of self acceptance after coming out.
I cannot understand why the stupid audience laughs during the dance, especially starting at 4:50 and more. How sad. Some people doesn't get the sense of her dance. They just see board with sign "aplaus" and that is enough for them. Like US sheeps.
How the heck did they get that long long one shot the whole way from the street to behind Ellen on the stage, its amazing. Cant see any cuts and ts wrecking my head!!! Can someone more clever than I am (and thats most people!) please tell me?!!!

@SottileGioia at that time in her life, 3 years before that she'd come out publicly as gay for herself and the character she was playing on her show. (i forget what it was called) for those 3 years she kind of disappeared and took time to herself after they cancelled her show because of her coming out, not having the decency to even tell her face to face ( i think they texted her if i remember right). so this was her coming back into the public eye i guess.

i think people should be able to choose who they love freely and not have people pressure them or try to "help" them do something that they really dont want to do. you really can't help who you love.
When a famous person says that they are gay people do not care if they are gay or not because THEY ARE FAMOUS and as long as they keep up doing what ever they were doing before they came out no one will care.

Ellen has a good stand up. She's hilarious...most women comics are always too focused on targeting the women audience directly so its not so enjoyable for guys. Ellen is clutch and on point. Damn hilarious.

That's true, it's still a huge issue everywhere. And she is wonderful for not letting that break her down like so many other famous people.

@Mocoohay17 once you establish saying "you're" in a sentence you don't have to say it again. therefore you can use "your" in the same sentence. so yes, you don't know anything about proper punctuation.

You don't know what coming out means?... usually means someone publicly announces they are gay/lesbian. Ellen came out as a lesbian 3 years before this show is what it should be implying.

no. i thnk its a steady-cam. its built so that you can walk, run or even jump without making a messy picture. it cant be a crane because they pan around her with one single shot. :)

I was also moved (and surprised!) by the "interpretive dance"... Only Ellen could be so creative! It may be just funny to some, but I suspect there are a lot of others who can actually relate to it.
