I was the guitarplayer for SODOM at that time, and it´s definately ME on guitar here! :-) There´s a little background story on the whole VENOM-Tribute thing, but the short version is it´s me, Tom Angelripper and Abbaddon on drums, at least that´s what they told us at the time. He was not in the studio with us. We recorded our parts in the same studio were "Aber bitte mit Sahne" and "Get what you deserve" were recorded! Hope that clears it up a little. Cheers, ANDY

I don't have the liner notes handy so I can't check but I vaguely remember seeing footage of the three of them in the studio. Can someone confirm?
@ejokurirulezz actually venom are speed/thrash metal and 1st generation black metal. they are the basis of true black metal as they were the 1st band to be clearly anti-christianic.they have some black metal songs.
This is a proof to see Venom was thrash metal before "official" thrash metal. Sodom covers the song without changing anything (except actually the quality level), and the song sounds like real thrash metal.
I think Abaddon played the drums on all the tracks on the tribute so basically he collaborated with selected members really not the full bands. That's what what I read back then at least. So Witching Hour is really not Kreator, just Mille and Abaddon and so iit is with the rest of the songs of the tribute. I don't know who played the guitar in 1000 Days in Sodom though. Could be Abaddon himself, I know he plays the guitar too.

agree with you man. even the big 4 have had covered venom songs or wore their murchendise like dave mustanie wore welcome to hell shirt in a picture when he was with metallica. i think they have majorly influenced most thrash bands, black metal bands and punk bands

@@666deathghost I don't think I've heard any 2nd wave onwards that are nearly as fun as Venom though. Venom, Sodom, Bathory, Mayhem are the fun ones for me. I would say Mercyful Fate too but that's more straight heavy metal. Also a lot of what you mentioned are also just the backbone of crossover thrash like Carnivore. God is Dead sounds 100% like a Venom song.
But this collection is also disappointment, some songs are live, i didn't never yet like it that. Saw is the law is luckyly real album version and nuclear winter, in back then, why i bought this 2cd collection, 1000 days in sodom for!
