Dan I loved that guy’s explanation of mapping your throttle pedal into a linear gain, I actually understood a lot of what he was saying! (Which is quite unusual when it comes to mapping!) nice piece..
The effort, time and detail you've put solemly into this build was truly worth it. You work on everything mostly alone what I love most is you have all the machinery to make it happen. My dream of owning a MK2 is more nearer now. Love your work 💪🏼🔥
The blacked out engine looks great in the bay. It's one thing I've stuck with since I first thought about doing up my MK1. An all gloss black and wrinkled black engine.
Nice results and a good mapping makes all difference, I had the same smile and reaction last year when injectors where swapped for correct ones and my Renault 19 16v 2.0 16v turbo was remapped it totally transformed the car from fast to goes like stink, and your MK1 Golf is even a bit lighter and has a bit more power. You should buy a Dragy and see what it does in acceleration 😎
What mods have you done to reinforcing the engine mountings, these engines have a knack with ripping the standard mounting brackets in the engine bay. Alot movement in the engine bay when you rip through the gears.
Well that look on your face after it was mapped said it all Dan you were grinning for ear to ear😁 Devil Developments certainly seem to know what they are doing, pleased you like it Dan👊👌👍
Hi Dan, I just found your channel, love the car. I have the opportunity of purchasing an 89' Golf GTI, but before I make this investment, I wanted to know if you had tips or a video on Do's and Dont's before embarking on a restoration project?
It would be interesting to know what your acceleration stats are, given ~ 350 PS/tonne. I guess tyres and gears are the limiting factor…. Maybe 4.5 seconds 0 to 100km/hr and 13 second quarter mile…..??

Impressive power and torque. Drivabilty is the important bit. Great update.
That’s what it’s about - better driveability not just outright power but if you get that too then happy days!
Very nice what a brilliant little car what a job by devil developments
209kw in that little thing, it should rip!!! Well done
Good work=good results, nice job Dan
Ah mate that’s ace! That projects a keeper, no way you’ll let it go 🔥
They're great numbers, that much torque in that little car! My big fat A3 only has 210bhp! That's going to fly!
Fit lightweight rims..
Loving the update bro
Really impressed with Devil Developments work with Officially Gassed.
No Mk1s spotted at festival of speed this year. Needs fixing!

Hey @Dan what's the procedure to get MOT for the golf with such engine?
Hi Dan, I have same engine in my Clio 172 and same issue with throttle how much was it for them to do the mapping and adjust the throttle please
160hp more than original must be unreal
Watched many but never saw how you addressed the brake issue...
Dan how does the brakes feel with the pedal box fitted ?
